Vreedle, Vreedle (Owen 10)

Vreedle, Vreedle is the sixth episode of Owen 10.

Plot

On his ship, Vilgax is telling two bounty hunters called the Vreedle Brothers to retrieve the omnitrix, and in return he will pay them. They accept, and Rhomboid Vreedle asks Vilgax if they can blow Owen up, and Octagon Vreedle points out Rhomboid is simple minded and always resorts to blowing things up. Vilgax tells them they must do whatever they must.

Meanwhile, Owen has fallen asleep at the school library. Jade wakes him up and points out it’s time to go home. On the way home, Owen points out he was up late the night before stopping a robbery. Jade says he should get some rest, but Owen says “heroes never sleep”.

Then, the Vreedle Brothers turn up and start firing. Owen is too tired to react and Jade has to pull him into an alley. There, Owen turns into Humungousaur and runs out of the alley. The Vreedles start shooting at him, but his tough skin endures them. He then knocks them away with his tail before yawning. The Vreedles realise he’s tired and decide to wear him out, but Humungousaur grabs them both before they can come up with a plan, then throws them a good few miles away before almost falling onto Jade with exhaustion. Luckily, the omnitrix reverts him in time and he falls on her in human form. She tells him to get rest, and they go to his house.

The Vreedle Brothers fall through the roof of a warehouse. Then, Psyphon appears telling them Vilgax was disappointed with their failure, but he is giving them a second chance. He then gives them some drones to use next time they face Owen.

At Owen’s house, Owen and Jade are watching TV in his room. Jade insists on Owen getting sleep but again he refuses. Then, a news report comes on saying there are aliens attacking Bellwood. Owen turns into Spidermonkey and swings out of the window. He goes into the city, where the Vreedle Brothers are with some of Vilgax’s drones. Spidermonkey takes out some of the drones with his webs, but one punch from Rhomboid knocks him out cold. Jade appears on her bicycle and before the Vreedles can do anything else she runs over and activates the omnitrix, turning Owen into Lodestar. The omnitrix activation wakes him up and he uses his magnetic pulses to knock the Vreedles away. They start firing but he creates a magnetic forcefield to protect himself. He then uses his magnetism to lift a truck and drops it on the Vreedles. They climb out, having barely survived, and Octagon activates a bomb he planted a few streets away. Lodestar flies to look for it and finds it in the middle of a road. He lifts it with his magnetism and throws it into the air just before it explodes.

Later, the Vreedles have escaped and Owen apologises to Jade for not listening to her. He realises he would have been more focused if he had sleep. They then go back to his house. On his ship, Vilgax is yelling at the Vreedle Brothers. He then angrily grabs them both and tells them to get out of his sight. He drops them and they scatter to their ship and leave quickly. Vilgax sits in his chair and watches Owen on a screen. He decides to send someone stronger to achieve his ultimate goal.
