Ventrilosquid is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Cephateloid from the planet Aquanox in Ben 10: Heroes Endeavour.
Appearance[]
Ventrilosquid is a squid-like alien with a white body, a big collection of wine red hair, and tufts of white hair on the sides of his head. He has 12 tentacles with a green eye with a black pupil on each one, but no visible eyes on his face. He also has a wide mouth with yellow teeth , as well as gills each of his sides. He has a green belt with a white strip on his chest that looks similar to the belt worn by Omniverse Shocksquatch that connects to his breathing brace. He wears the Omnitrix symbol on the centre of his belt.
Transformation Sequence[]
Ben's entire body turns white before splits in his limbs and torso become visible, these splits allow those body parts to form tentacles. Ben's face begins getting bigger, his hair growing at a faster rate than the rest of it, while slowly fading into a wine red color. A flash of green light is then shown and we see Ventrilosquid's full body.
Powers and Abilities[]
Ventrilosquid has ventriloquist powers, meaning that he can make his voice appear to come from somewhere else. This typically occurs while a person or dummy moves their lips and imitates another being's voice. His power also works on inanimate objects.
Ventrilosquid "sort of" possesses telepathy. It is just enough to implant thoughts and words into another’s brain.
Ventrilosquid has a malleable body because of having no bones, meaning he can fit into tight spaces and be bent out of shape, yet still be fine.
Ventrilosquid's tentacles can be used as weapons by being flung at enemies. His tentacles also secrete a sticky substance allowing him to stick onto walls and ceilings.
Weaknesses[]
Ventrilosquid is an aquatic reature and relies on a breathing brace supplied by the Omnitrix to live in other environments, if the breathing brace is damaged, it can cause him to become unable to breathe.
Bright lights can affect the effectiveness of Ventrilosquid's ventriloquism and telepathy, leading the powers to be weakened. This is because Cephateloids naturally live in a dark environment.
Ventrilosquid's eyes are on the ends of each tentacle and are very sensitive to light and susceptible to physical damage. Ventrilosquid's vision is compound in the same way Eye Guy's is. Ventrilosquid's vision is also based on movement, leading to problems with enemies who know how to counter this.
History[]
The Cephateloids are bottom feeders on the planet Aquanox. Due to the planet being so dark, their eyesight weakened and is specifically used to find others of the species as well as falling food. They can lure predators away with their ventriloquism and can even use telepathy to put them off food. Though they mainly use telepathy as a way of communication.
Ben first unlocked Ventrilosquid in Frogfight, where he was used to trick Empress Attea to exit her flagship and get ambushed by Gwen, Kevin, and Rook
