My apologies if this blog comes out later than expected; I've been busy with college work today. We had a couple people drop out, leaving only two entries to judge, but hey, it's not like it's the first time this has happened. Anyways, on with the results!
Second Place - Brandon's Entry
This piece's biggest issue should be readily apparent. The blend of real-life photos and drawings is a creative idea, sure, but it's not executed well here. The textures don't blend with each other or the drawn portions very well, and it makes a lot of the piece look like a big featureless blob of poor editing. The drawings themselves are nice enough, though I have to ask why Cannonbolt has two left hands.
First Place - Aaron's Entry
This is a pretty good piece. While it's not particularly detailed or textured, with the background coming off as more of a fuzzy blob than anything, it shows a nice use of colors and composition, and the Florauna that serves as the main centerpiece is drawn very well. Congratulations!
