Titania Forms are a new type of transformation introduced in Tech Cross.

History

After the malicious AI Oberon OS used the CrossTrix to create a DNA Key containing the genetic code of all 113 Evolvyrns, a significant portion of genetic material was left behind in the transformation matrix, causing the transformation process to malfunction. In an attempt to fix this, the CrossTrix rerouted the remaining scraps of DNA into the device's fusion chamber, creating a new genetic matrix capable of fusing with the CrossTrix's native DNA samples and enhancing their abilities.

Overview

Titania Forms are technically fusions, using a unique genetic template created by the CrossTrix as the second "alien" in the hybridization process. Under ordinary circumstances, a transformation containing over 100 genetic samples would push its user over the Kunenga Threshold, but due to the samples in the Titania template being incomplete traces, there is not enough Kunenga Energy present to trigger the process; that said, the amount of Kunenga Energy that is available is not insignificant, and is what gives Titania Forms their strength.

Kunenga Energy is what gives alien species their unique abilities that seem to bend the laws of physics; the more Kunenga Energy a lifeform has, the more outlandish and potentially destructive their abilities can become. Titania Forms, being flooded with an absurd amount of Kunenga Energy, have their abilities enhanced to grand proportions, giving their base forms a terrifying increase in power.

Titania Mode

Titania Forms are stored in a separate CrossTrix mode accessed via the code 1-1-3, referencing the total number of Evolvyrns. In Titania Mode, the CrossTrix's blue color scheme is swapped out for one highlighted with purple and gold, and the default symbol displayed on the dial switches from a standard 'X' shape to one composed of four arrows pointing inward.

Weaknesses

While Titania Forms are powerful, they are not invincible, and it is extremely easy to misjudge how much energy is really being put behind any ability; this combination of factors can lead to situations like the one seen in Dream X Nightmare where Dupligato Titania unintentionally travels to the moon using her enhanced Shadow Travel and is unable to breathe.

• Titania Forms are named after Titania, the queen of the fairies in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. This is meant to reflect their relationship to Oberon OS, which is named after the king of the fairies that also appears in Shakespeare's play.
  • In reference to this, Titania Forms are generally designed after either royalty or rulers of similar rank; for example, where Dupligato is based on a ninja, Dupligato Titania's uniform is based on the armor of various shogun, especially that of Oda Nobunaga. Their purple and gold color schemes also reflect this, with said colors historically being associated with royalty.
