  • Ten years.

This wiki has been alive and kicking for ten full years now.

I don't even have a joke for that it's just mindblowing.

As the oldest active user on the wiki, I can tell you that this place has changed a lot over the years, and so have the users. A lot of people grew up with this wiki, and the wiki grew along with them. BTFF is a community that really had no right to last this long and draw in so many people, but it did anyway, and that's genuinely incredible.

So, what should we discuss for the tenth anniversary? Honestly, I think anything goes. Talk about your favorite parts of this community, whether it be memories, events, aliens, characters, or heaven forbid even the actual fanfictions! Point is, take a moment to reflect on what makes this place special for you and why you think it's maintained such longevity.

I don't know where we'll be in another ten years; maybe this wiki will still be alive, maybe it'll be as dead as OV's toy sales. Either way, whatever future everyone here will have, I hope it's a good one. Happy tenth anniversary, BTFF, and thank you to everyone that's kept this wiki going for so long. Have a great decade!

    • I could copy what I said last year and paste it here, because I still mean every word of what I said back then, but I'm not going to.

BTFF is basically my online home and the community is my family. I've been here for seven years (more or less a third of my life!) and it's been awesome and astounding to see the wiki (and the franchise) change and grow as much as it has. Contributing here and interacting with my friends have helped me through many dark times and I couldn't be more grateful to you all. I've poured my heart and soul into the wiki and it's never once felt like work.

The wiki is in great shape considering its age, and I feel like 2019 has been one of the most active years in a while judging by the number of new users. I can't wait to see where the next decade takes us. I don't see the franchise going anywhere, so chances are the wiki will survive for many years to come. I know I'm not going anywhere. I love the franchise and the wiki too much to leave.

Happy 10th anniversary, BTFF, and thanks for the memories!

    • Whenever I temporarily go to another fan fiction wiki, mostly Miraculous Ladybug, I always feel weird because they don’t have much of the great stuff we have here. (In ML’s case, they lack a Discord server, a Page Creation Portal, and worst of all, admins.) I’m glad to have this as my main wiki of choice.

    • This wikia was an integral part of my life, and helped me through many many tough times (being one of the reasons I'm still alive today tbh).

Honestly, this is the best fanon wikia I've seen. Nothing else even remotely compares in quality, and I'm really happy about that. A good amount of the fanfiction here trumps a lot of published books.

I've made irreplaceable friends here, and met the kindest (Ulti) and the most talented (CaT) people I have ever seen. This wikia feels like a home to me, and I'm very glad it's still around!

    • Hey I've got an idea for the decade anniversary! What if we do a contest for alien playlists of 10 of our own original aliens? We could gall it the Playlist Pursuit. It'd be available for the first 10 days after it's active. Then, 10 qualifiers would be chosen, and would have to choose one of their aliens to compete in a simulated fight. The odds of them winning would be based on their abilities and weaknesses against each other. The winner gets praised [and something else, IDK]. The only name I've got for it is "Playlist Pursuit".

      Whatch y'all think?

First to get this critique out of the way, determining the winner by way of a fight would completely ruin the competition. It'd just encourage people to make raw power playlists instead of making aliens with interesting powers and fitting/interesting weaknesses.

As for the idea itself it's a pretty good idea tbh. Personally, however, I feel like instead of creating 10 new aliens (which is a lot of work) making one new alien and putting a lot of thought and effort into it would be better. This is why we're doing that for the Ultimate Fanon Con

I mean, it was a rough draft. I was allowing for the complete rules & regulations to be formulated.
