This is the second discussion thread for Ben 10: Protector of the Omniverse, as the first thread was too clogged up with posts. Thank you for supporting the series throughout its time here, and enjoy the episodes. Feel free to ask questions :D
Did you ever see POTO as such as sucsessful series?
Do you plan on making a like multiple part episode or a season that focuses on something like ATTWN and ATTWB?
Will Utli or Multi appear in the series at somepoint?
Also, will Ulti reappear along with the guys abiove?
How many seasons are you planning this show to have?
When will Reon Smith finnaly appear??? Or did he already?
At first, my original plans were close to the canon series, with Ben having the Omnitrix, and with same old aliens. Of course, at the time, POTO was the only series to take place after Omniverse, so adding elements from it was hard, since little was known about it. Anyway, the Infinimatrix came along from Lego. He also suggested having Infinite forms. More and more fanon characters and technology came in, and soon...boom! POTO was known. I always try to make the series the best it can be.
Hey, guys! If you haven't noticed already, Season 1 (from episode 4 onwards) has been completely revamped! We're going to do the same for the other four, so keep an eye out. ;) Also, if any of you think POTO is getting dark, then you have nothing to worry about. Although the episodes' descriptions seem a little intense, it's not meant to be dark, but rather, it's supposed to be complex. We plan to try new things with the series, but the characters will remain the same, I assure you! :D You'll still see Ben having fun with the Infinimatrix, and Rook not understanding Earth expressions... The core concepts for POTO will still remain. Just sit back and wait for the episode guide to be updated. In the meantime, here's a poll. Be sure to provide feedback for the episode guide so far. :)
Should I rearrange the characters, villains and aliens to make them in alphabetical order?
Well, my computer broke during the summer and I haven't replaced it yet, so my options were quite...limited. I won't edit pages much, but I will comment and chat regularly from now on. So... I guess I'm back.
I'm afraid my return derailed this thread, so let's get back on topic ;)
As I've told a few users, I'll only be semi-active over the next few weeks, so I can only do so much. I intend to get it out by the end of September at the very latest, possibly mid-September if all goes well.
If anyone is still hyped, I figure I'd tell you guys more about my plans for the show, mostly Season 1. I'll start by giving you one word; 'grounded'. Yes, you heard that correctly. Season 1 is going to be (relatively) grounded. Obviously, it's a show about a boy who can turn into aliens, so there's only so much grounded we can get, but yeah. We'll have real world themes and deaths, but this being TV-Y7-FV, there's a line we won't cross. However, we won't be dark. You're not going to see Heatblast burning someone alive or anything. Episode 3, in particular, deals with something I'm really excited for. In fact, this sets up the arc. It'll be heavy. And hey, if you're not a fan of groundedness in sci-fi, Season 2 is in complete juxtaposition to that.
For anyone who is interested, I'm looking for a proofreader for the series, somebody who reads episodes before they're released and gives suggestions on how to improve them if need be. If you meet the requirements below, please reply to this thread:
Today (April 22) marks the five-year anniversary of the first iteration of the show! I'm not going to make a blog because previous blogs didn't get much attention. I'd like to thank the crew for helping me with the series, and all of the fans the show has attracted over these five years. I apologize for the lack of episodes. I've made a promise to myself to not post episodes until after I've written all episodes for Season 1. Right now, I'm working on episode 3, which has had several major story changes, thus slowing down production.
Anyway, in celebration of the anniversary, I'll be hosting a 24-hour Q&A regarding the series. Ask me anything under the sun and I'll reply as soon as possible. Once again, thanks for all the support, and have a nice day!
What makes you want to continue working on this series?
Somehow just saw this. I want to continue working on the series because I feel that the Ben 10 franchise has potential, so I want to unleash that potential. And I also just want to put my own spin on the franchise.
WILL we see lots of new aliens or redesigns of the old?
Yes to new aliens and yes to redesigns. A few aliens will have more drastic redesigns than the others. For example, Swampfire's mature form more closely resembles his prepubescent form, and NRG's containment suit will get an overhaul to make him more mobile.
Another update to say that production has been picking back up after the rather busy month I've had. Can't say for sure when the current episode will be finished, though (hopefully soon).
I'd also like to talk about the show for a bit. Personally, I like it when Ben 10 (or any show, really) had strict arcs. Therefore, most, if not all, episodes of this series will be directly related to the arc of the season. Even episodes that seem like fillers will always be connected to the arc somehow. When the show was in its previous iterations, I always wanted to bring back as many villains as I could, which I later realized was a lot of work, and most of those episodes had no bigger purpose besides to reintroduce villains. The current iteration of POTO will focus less on bringing back villains for the sake of it. It will instead bring them back if they contribute to the main plot in some way. This may seem like a disappointment, but it'd be better off this way. One villain I'm sure I won't bring back until I'm 100% sure I know how to do it right is Vilgax. He was pretty much ruined in the sequels, and if I bring him back, I want to make sure I bring him back to his former glory as seen in the original series.
If you have any questions related to this topic (or not related, I'm open), post a comment below.
In case you haven't seen the announcement on the wiki's official Discord server, due to the fact that my POTO staff and I are as busy as each other, I'm currently hiring. Therefore, if you want to join us, PM me on Discord. Here are the requirements:
You should have a good command of the English language.
You should have a lot of knowledge regarding Ben 10.
You should have a considerable amount of time on your hands
You should also provide a resume of your past works.
After writing a significant chunk of what I thought was my best work yet (episodes 3 and 4), I realized there were too many things wrong with it, so the episodes will be revised yet again. Sorry for being so slow. I'm really trying my best to make the show the best it can be.
