The Tale of Two Frogs is the seventh episode of Omniverse: At Night.
Plot[]
The episode begins in Galvan Prime. Azmuth was busy working on a piece of technology. The other Galvans proceed to help Azmuth, until a cold sensation could be felt from behind. The figure enters a room as they're revealed to be Albedo, who managed to contain his human form without transforming into aliens constantly. Albedo grabs out scrap pieces of technology, before he is ambushed by Azmuth. Azmuth questions his presence, while Albedo vows to get revenge. Albedo proceeds to create a stabilizer in order to transform into aliens properly, as Azmuth would call upon his guards to attack, before Albedo would vanish by using a teleporter that Azmuth had created for any sort of contingensy plan needed.
Ben and Rook are spotted in Undertown fighting against Tummyhead, Sweet-Eels Sparklefunk and Trombipulor. Ben was in the form of Rath, talking smack at the villains, while Rook was not used to Ben's aggressive behaviour whilst in the form of an Appoplexian. Within several constant smack talking and fighting later, the villains are then defeated, as Rath transforms back into Ben, with Rook sighing in relief. Rook insists that Ben shouldn't go Rath again, since he is not fond of his vulgar language. Ben promises to use another alien, as they're called in to Plumber HQ by Max, who wishes to speak to them both. By driving off to Plumber HQ, Rook asks Ben a question about a particular someone, mentioning his red eyes and white hair. Ben reveals him to be Albedo, but confirms the last time they encountered him was when Albedo hosted a live TV show.
They later arrive at Plumber HQ, with Max speaking about a recent ambush in Galvan Prime, as Azmuth is seen on a screen, confirming the suspect to be Albedo. Azmuth gives info about Albedo building a stabilizer in order to stabilize his transformations. With Ben and Rook given insight on the situation, Max gives the duo the task to fly over to Galvan Prime. Ben and Rook agree to the idea, as they would take off in the Proto-TRUK. Rook asks about the stabilizer, as Ben recalls a memory he had back when he had the Ultimatrix.
The flashback opens to Ben, Gwen and Kevin standing outside a destroyed building with Albedo, Hugh, Swamps and Fridge. Albedo would try to transform back into his Galvan form, only to reform into his human self. In a head of rage, Albedo blames the cause of this on Ben, as he would transform into Rath, as Ben transformed into Echo Echo. Ben defeated Albedo as Rath by evolving into Ultimate Echo Echo, as he uses his disks to take him down. The flashback would end at that very monent.
Rook eventually understood the reason, as they are interrupted by Albedo, who spoke through a screen. Ben questions him about his recent ambush in Galvan Prime, as Albedo reveals that he had just built himself a stabilizer, which would prevent him from randomly transforming into aliens for no reason. Albedo looks over to see Rook, and asks about Ben's cousin and best friend. Ben tells him that she went to college, as Albedo admits that he's going to miss them. Albedo then sparks up the plan to destroy the Proto-TRUK before they even arrive at Galvan Prime, as missiles are sent from an unknown area, giving Ben no choice but to destroy them by transforming into Jetray. Jetray flies out of the Proto-TRUK as he grabs onto an oncoming missle, throwing it towards another, causing it to explode. He shoots another missile which explodes, as he'd grab another and toss it towards another oncoming missle. They explode, as Jetray would find another one aiming closer to the Proto-TRUK. He'd zoom past and shoot it down, causing it to explode, causing minor damage to the vehicle, before Jetray enters the Proto-TRUK, transforming back into Ben.
The duo would arrive at Galvan Prime, however there was no sign of Albedo. When they got out of the Proto-TRUK, Azmuth welcomes them before blabbering on about upcoming pieces of tech which needs to be tested by Blukic and Briba before they could be used by the Plumbers. Azmuth also mentions about Albedo and his recent ambush, to which Ben asks about his location. Azmuth insists that Ben should just use his brain and use the Omnitrix, as Ben would proceed to transform into Wildmutt. Wildmutt would proceed to search for Albedo via noise, hoping to actually track him down. Unfortunately, this plan fails, but little did he know, Albedo had created himself a little base which is soundproof, to prevent any visitors from entering.
Albedo was busy working on his stabilizer, as he congratulates himself with the fact that the base has still been intact for five years. He'd continue the process, even hearing Ben's voice from above, as he takes a sigh of relief. With the stabilizer done, Albedo transforms into Echo Echo, as he bursts through the ground, grabbing the attention of Ben and Rook, who turn over to see the Sonorosian. The Galvan would evacuate the area, as Echo Echo would wait for Ben to transform. Ben transforms into Shocksquatch, as he'd go after Negative Echo Echo, who'd multiply and surround the Gimlinopithecus. Rook wishes to intervene, but Azmuth wishes to speak to Rook privately, and give him some background to Albedo's character.
Both Rook and Azmuth enter Azmuth's headquarters. By entering Azmuth's main area, he reveals that he is working on some technology that would be tested by Blukic and Driba. Rook interrupts as he asks about Albedo's backstory. Azmuth begins to tell Rook the story of Albedo.
The flashback opens up to five years before Omniverse: At Night. a wild Kineceleran is shown zooming around, touching Azmuth's work. eleven-year-old Gwen is later seen with sixty-one-year-old Max who looked exhausted. Azmuth and Max talk before XLR8 accidentally blows up one of Azmuth's creations, as he manages to transform XLR8 back into eleven-year-old Ben, who pulls a face at Gwen who joked about not recognising his face. The flashback ends with Rook asking another question.
Azmuth reveals that Albedo used to work with him before he allegedly quit. Rook asked what happened to another villain called Malware. Azmuth gasps, questioning Rook about his knowledge of Malware, as Rook explained that he knew Malware because of Ben and the incident with Feedback, as Azmuth would get back on track. Another flashback opens with an argument between Azmuth and Albedo. Albedo tells Azmuth that he wishes to use the Omnitrix for himself, as he explained that it did not deserve to be in the hands of a human, let alone a child. Azmuth disagrees, mentioning Ben's past missions where he successfully saved the world. Furious, Albedo wiped Azmuth's desk, destroying various pieces of work he had spent on. Azmuth fires him, with Albedo storming off, ending the flashback.
Rook understood the background of Albedo clearer, as he wishes that Albedo could eventually stop his wrong doings. Wishing the same, but knowing that it'd take some time, Azmuth would get back to work, as Rook would leave Azmuth's headquarters.
Back at the fight, Shocksquatch would slam down onto the ground, which creates a thunderwave that stuns the Echo Echo clones, as he'd whack them. Albedo knew he had to go bigger, so he transforms into Gravattack. Shocked at how Albedo could even transform into his newer aliens, Shocksquatch is thrown into a mountain by Negative Gravattack's gravikinesis, smacking hard onto the rock, as he'd fall, before quick changing into Big Chill, swooping upwards to prevent from falling on his face. Gravattack launches himself at the Necrofriggian, who freezes him from the inside by going intagible, before fleeing the scene by flying away. Gravattack breaks free from the ice as he transforms into Brainstorm, calculating Big Chill's movement. Brainstorm blasts an electric beam at a Galvan who panicked, grabbing onto something that would deflect his attack, as it struck Big Chill, who smacks onto the ground, transforming back into Ben, who gets up, finding Albedo's Cerebrocrustacean form floating towards Ben's direction, deflecting whatever Ben threw in his direction.
Brainstorm mocks Ben for his stupidity, in which Ben mocks Albedo for his enhanced intelligence. With nothing to prove, Ben watches Brainstorm land on the ground before transforming back. Impressed, Ben wishes to know how to perform that exact move Albedo did as Brainstorm not too long ago. With Albedo growing bored of the compliments, he wishes to escape his cursed human form, to which Ben asks him if he couldn't just Grey Matter and be done with his evil shenanigans. Albedo disagrees and wishes that Ben never even had the Omnitrix in the first place. Albedo transforms into Snare-oh as he wraps Ben up on a wall, planning to just take the Omnitrix for himself.
Negative Snare-oh is shot from behind, as Rook is seen running in his direction. Rook frees Ben from his prisonment, as Ben transforms into Ball Weevil accidentally. Amused by Ben's stupid choice of an alien, Snare-oh proceeds to attack the new alien, while Ben was confused on his new alien's moveset. Eventually, Ball Weevil spits out a gooey ball as he hops onto it, rolling it around whilst collecting little pieces of rock along the way, leading to Ball Weevil to launch it at Snare-oh, who tries dodging as soon as the slime ball explodes, knocking the Thep Khufan off his feet. Ball Weevil would continue exiling the explosive goo as Snare-oh would continue dodging them, eventually landing an attack that causes Ball Weevil to be sent flying, leaving a large explosive goo ball unattended, resulting on Snare-oh to use it by wrapping it with bandages before launching it at the insectoid. It explodes as soon as it came in contact with Ball Weevil, who transforms back into Ben.
Rook chimes in as he holds the Thep Khufan at gunpoint. Rook vows to put him under arrest, as Snare-oh snickers, switching into Jetray as he leaves the scene. With Ben getting up, he is thanked by Azmuth for fending off Albedo while he had worked on a piece of technology. Azmuth gives the machine to Rook, who mentions that he'd give it a test run with Blukic and Driba. With Azmuth and the other Galvan waving them both a goodbye, Ben and Rook exit Galvan Prime, as they head back to Earth, as the episode ends with Ben mentioning that he wishes to have a lie in the next day.

Trivia[]
- When Rook brings up Albedo, Ben makes a callback to Ben's last encounter with him, which was in the Ultimate Alien episode, Double or Nothing. Also, Ben recalls the moment where he defeated him as Ultimate Echo Echo.
- It is revealed that Albedo has a secret base he can access without having Azmuth catching him. This base was built five years prior to Omniverse: At Night, so it may be, while Azmuth had given Ben the prototype Omnitrix, Albedo went off and made a base that he'd use sometime in the future.
- Since the events of Double or Nothing, Albedo has access to Gravattack's DNA.
- Albedo, despite it not being confirmed at all in Omniverse, might have access to aliens such as Crashhopper, Shocksquatch, Astrodactyl and potentially Atomix.
- The flashback with younger versions of Ben, Gwen and Max comes from the episode Trouble Helix.
