Purpose

The goal of the Society is to liberate the population of Mutants that reside within New York City. While to liberate them is preferable, their true goal is to spark of a revolution that would not only dismantle the authority figures of the city but also completely topple the city's structure so that their mastermind, Anton Reeves, may take control over the city.

Members

Veronica Dorn

The leader of the Society, Veronica holds herself above others but views her compatriots as equals. She's strong-willed and determined to see the mission to the very end. She also oversees most- if not every- detail of their operation, ensuring that success is reassured. She's also extremely loyal to Reeves and sees herself very close to him, even if the feeling is not mutual.

Like her partners, she was a former mercenary with an unknown past however, after taking part in Reeves' experiment, she gained the ability to manipulate plants and deliver an electric pulse through her hands.

Michael Hickman

Micheal is the brute of the group, portrayed as the muscle with the biggest form. Like his partners, he was formerly a mercenary but, after taking part in Reeves' experiment, he mutated into a large, muscular creature. He gained the ability to have enhanced strength, durability and momentarily increase in size and scale. He often grunts and groans but it is unknown if he is unable to speak due to his mutation or if he's simply mute.

Heather Gruffurd

Heather tends to come off as a quirky and somewhat sassy individual who differs from her other members who tend to take their overall mission more seriously. She enjoys teasing her enemies as well as her victims and sometimes playing around with them. She's quite nimble and short, giving her great mobility.

Like her partners, she was a former mercenary with an unknown past however, after taking part in Reeves' experiment, she gained the ability to split into multiple copies of herself- each armed with another ability to stretch their fingers into bandage-like limbs, making her quite great at capturing and entrapping.

Dylan Wittenberg

Dylan tends to be the odd-one out with his inability to speak due to his mutation as well as his awkward motion. Like his partners, he was formerly a mercenary but, after taking part in Reeves' experiment, he mutated into a skinny mutated creature with large ears, bulging eyes and a dislocated mouth with no lower jaw. His stomach and upper torso also has folds.

His Mutant ability allows him to unfold his stomach and upper torso into revealing his insides and dispatching four long prehensile tongues- each armed with enhanced strength and lifting capabilities.

Julian Marshal-Grey

An additional member added at the last moment, Julian was rescued and then recruited by the Society to fuel his need for revenge as the vigilante team, the Helpers. He was, at first, an individual who was simply affected by the second Incident who suffered severe consequences for gaining Mutant abilities. However, no longer afraid of the consequences, he embraced his criminal nature and wanted nothing but power over others- becoming no better than the man who first incriminated him.

After becoming affected by the second Incident, his new-found Mutant ability is to control all types of technology and machinery which includes the ability to levitate them through the air.

Tara Veil

An additional member added at the last moment, Tara was rescued and then recruited by the Society to fuel her need for revenge as the vigilante team, the Helpers, while also being free to do as she pleases with them. She was, at first, an individual who was simply affected by the second Incident. She wondered around on her own, suffering to keep her abilities under control. However, no longer fearing a lack of control, she let her abilities consume her mind and body- making her incredibly powerful and dangerous to others.

After becoming affected by the second Incident, her new-found Mutant ability is to control, or rather, manipulate shadow-like entities that naturally grow out from her being. Although, given her timid and weak-hearted nature, the shadows have actually manipulated and controlled her into doing dark acts that she is tricked into enjoying.

Former Members

Lester Imparden

Lester was not initially a member of the Society but rather a kidnap victim of the group, perhaps as a test to see the experiment's effect on a regular person. However, as he ventured through the R-Corp facility with the Vigilante and Kate Wilson, he learned more about Reeve's efforts as well as his power and influence. Seeing how superior the Society was to the Vigilante, he was won over by the power his abilities would give him over others and betrayed the Vigilante. However, his power was unstable physically and mentally to him which had him deal damage to both sides. Seeing this as a disaster and an utter liability to his group, Reeves commanded that Lester be executed.

Elias Hernandez

Joining the Society in order to gain abilities that would allow him to protect his community while also standing up for himself, Elias had a firm belief in that what he was doing was right until he was trapped underneath the debris of the collapsing facility. Being forced to work alongside the Vigilante, he was also forced to open his mind to the possibility that Reeves' efforts would in fact go against what he believed in. Seeing the Vigilante at the end of his rope and the Society fully gathered, he betrayed the group to side with the Vigilante.

Appearances

Mutant Drake

Trivia
