Plot[]
Within the walls of a New Orleans Prison a fight breaks out between the wardens and a strange woman riding on top of a dog-like stone golem that barreled through, she fired magical missiles which broke through the bars until she eventually reached where she was going, she could care less about the idiots shooting at her, their funeral if they got hit.
She jumped off her steed when she made it to the door, tapping it once, twice, and then blowing some dust on it, the door began to curl in on itself, turning into a small little ball of hyperdense metal.
Within this cell was this young woman's uncle, Hex.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it here sooner uncle I-"
"Charmcaster, I explicitly asked for you to stay in Legerdomain!"
"Y-Yes, but I saw you were in danger..."
"Could it have helped you to see that I was in danger a month ago when those three devils took away my power?"
"Yes, it-it could. Now, I'd like to get back home..."
"No, I can make use of you, child. The time for the alignment is soon..."
"Then we haven't much time..." Charmcaster says an incantation and the two are sent off in a beam of light through the roof.
Somewhere on a highway, a bus' breaks were out, swerving around until it just stopped.
Ball Weevil used his sticky plasma to pull out the back of the bus and let the passengers out, but they just stood at the end.
"Aren't you guys gonna jump?"
"You can't help us down?"
"Who raised you darnit? My bunions have been acting up for weeks!"
"I'm goin' first, my hip's outta wack!"
"Why can't this stuff ever happen to Gwen..." Ball Weevil muttered, making a plasma cushion and left signing off with a "You're Welcome" and a salute.
The Tennysons see Ben return, continuing to complain.
"Sometimes this hero stuff gets way old..."
"Those folks would be in a real pickle without you." Max encouraged.
"I know, I know. But I think we'd all like one normal day of a summer, you know, sitting around, being a normal family."
"For your information, I think you should be glad you have powers, I only got to be Lucky Girl for a few hours!"
"Whiny babies aside... Apparently those fossils wanna check out some 'magic convention' in Vegas."
"A magic convention?!" Gwen's eyes lit up.
"Ben, I think we've found our next destination."
The trio made their way to the "Magician Of The Year EXPO", seeing performers in all kinds of bizarre garb.
"None of this is real magic, Grandpa. It's all just gross-out tricks."
"Right up my alley!" Ben chuckled, placing some "disguise glasses" on, "Man, I don't know who this 'Ben Tennyson' fellow is but he sounds handsome!"
Gwen laughed a little before walking off to see a vendor, "You wouldn't happen to have any real magical artifacts, would you?"
"Sweetie, all magic is real magic if you just believe."
"Whatever you say..." Gwen overlooked the selection before deciding on a bracelet with a charm inside and it subtly sparked when she put it on.
"Find something you like?" Max handed some money off to the vendor.
"It kind of reminds me of..."
Suddenly there was screaming outside and everyone ran out to check, an escape artist in a straitjacket was being taken in a falling helicopter.
"It's hero time!" Ben runs off into an alleyway, transforming into Jetray and grabbing onto the helicopter to push against it.
"Don't worry, everything's under control!" A blade flung out of the back, going towards the crowd, and even worse, to Grandpa! "Okay, one thing is out of control!"
"Grandpa, look out!" Gwen ran over, flipping across cars before a strange magenta shield appeared in front of Max.
"Gwen, did you..."
"I was just lucky. I gotta go, I think Ben needs more help!"
Jetray had managed to stop the helicopter itself, now it was getting to the struggling man on the rope.
"Okay, I'm going to cut the rope, and then I'll grab ya! Okay, maybe I should grab you then cut the rope." Jetray hops down just as the fire reaching the man burns the rope apart, him falling faster than Jetray could due to his membranes keeping him airborne.
Then suddenly... Lucky Girl showed up?
"Alright, if you could do it for Grandpa, you can do it here!" She then put her arms out as the bracelet sparkled once more, generating stairs for her to leap up and grab the man, stepping down to safety.
"Lucky Girl?!" Jetray yelled over the cheering audience.
"Don't even get to me about 'stealing your superhero spotlight'."
"I wasn't gonna say that, I'm actually happy to have someone else around with powers this time! Wait, how did you even do any of that?"
"I don't know either, let's get out of here."
Back with Charmcaster and Hex, the two were flying through the sky, before landing at a campfire, scaring away the locals, Hex spoke an incantation into the fire.
"Now, the Keystone of Bezel, reveal your location to me!"
A magical hologram of the Keystone appeared, showing it traveling in Las Vegas.
"Are you sure you can't do this on your own because..."
"It's moving, that could mean someone has it and with the Keystone..."
"...It's rumored to increase ten times the powers and skills of the one who possesses it." Gwen finished her research while in the RV.
"Okay, but didn't we destroy all those Bezel whatevers already?" Ben made a swinging motion to replicate Gwen with her shovel.
"Well, it seems we thought wrong, kids." Max sighed, another magic fiasco, and what was up with Gwen?
"So, how's about we see exactly what those 'skills' of yours can do." Ben rubbed his hands, the trio finally stepped into a magic show.
"Remember, the Magician of the Year will be crowned during the Solar Eclipse, and without further ado, our first act... The Amazing Allen!"
A blond man appeared from smoke, "First, I shall need a volunteer!"
Everyone immediately began jumping up and down, Ben didn't get all the hype but joined in too, getting picked out of the crowd.
"Alright, the boy will go into the box... and what shall come out will amaze and surprise you."
"Yeah, it sure will..." Ben crouched down into the box as Allen locked it, the boy priming the Omnitrix and transforming into Wildmutt to bust out.
A red mist then bore through the ceiling, appearing on stage as Hex and Charmcaster.
"Amateur hour is over... If it is magic you all desire, it is magic you shall have! Now, bring me the keystone!" Hex cast a spell to mind control several inhabitants, all of them clamoring towards the location, Gwen and Max running off as Wildmutt lunged for Hex's staff to keep the villains busy, "Make yourself useful, Charmcaster!"
"Y-Yes uncle!" Charmcaster unzipped her strange bag and several vines grabbed onto Wildmutt, allowing Hex to levitate his staff back and fire a beam at Wildmutt sending him into a shelf.
"You know, if you said 'give me the charm, pretty please', I might have given it to you." Lucky Girl smirked as she stepped out of the shadows.
"Perfect..." Hex cast a blast of electricity which Lucky Girl dodged, sending discs of mana at Hex which he levitated over, "New powers... same old sloppiness. Charmcaster, forget the dog, bind her, I have to reclaim my prize."
"It was never yours, Hex!" Max tossed a bowling pin that hit Charmcaster upside the head which then bounced back at Max, growing with each bounce, luckily Wildmutt was able to save him, taking the hit instead.
"Finders keepers, skull face!" Gwen continued dodging hits from Hex, backing into Charmcaster.
"And losers weepers, cat mask." Charmcaster then dropped a strange rock totem.
"Really, cat mask? And is that a... stone fetus?"
"Wait for it..." The 'stone fetus' began to grow, slowly turning into a humanoid golem which grabbed her into a bearhug, "Uncle, I got her!"
Hex approached when he was struck by a speaker, falling into Charmcaster, getting up, he screamed "Enough!" blasting everyone away, and destroying the golem holding Lucky Girl, Max and Gwen were stuck running in a maze from the stone dogs as the sorcerers followed them, phasing through walls.
"Split up?"
"Split up!" Lucky Girl yelled as they both ran separate paths, letting a Rock Monster hit their master while the other was smashed by Wildmutt before he reverted.
"Ben, you okay?"
"Don't worry about me, worry about Gwen." Ben brushed Max off as they went looking.
Over by Lucky Girl, she tried her best to hide herself in the hedge maze, hearing rustling from the other side, she flipped over to knock over Charmcaster.
"Not so scary without your goodie bag, are you!"
"Please, you have to understand, I didn't want to get mixed up in all of this! My name is Hope but my uncle just calls me Charmcaster and..."
"And I trust you because..."
"You can trust me because I know what Hex wants, I know how he things: The reason he wants your charm is because at the highest point of the solar eclipse he can replicate all the other charms."
"Then we'll stop him, without you."
"Give me the charms, or let them suffer a painful demise!" Hex phased through a hedge, levitating Ben and Max.
"You'll trust me after this!" Charmcaster snatched her bag back and released bats that carried Hex away, forcing him to lose his hold on the Tennysons as he's tossed into a pool.
"Now, I just need to finish the job before Hex can dry off, come on Ben!" Lucky Girl ran off.
"Wait! But, don't you trust me?"
Lucky Girl walked back over and put a hand on Charmcaster's shoulder and gave a nod to which Charmcaster hugged her, seemingly crying before letting Gwen go.
"Okay, that was majorly weird!"
"You're a superhero now, you should be used to the weird."
Gwen tries to jump after a rising Hex only to fall on her face.
"It seems you lack the keystone... That means... excellent." He then disappeared in smoke.
"The keystone's missing... That witch took it! You think Chromastone can go after her?"
"Not right now... still in the red."
On a rooftop, Hex approached Charmcaster.
"Playing innocent was a rather intelligent move, my dear Charmcaster, I might not have been able to get the keystone without your help."
"I know I was wrong to do it without asking you, but I had to think fast."
"No matter, soon I... we shall have the power to destroy our enemies and rule the world!"
The Tennysons help Max to the RV as he recounts what happened, "Charmcaster must've knocked me out and left..."
"She was just playing us... and I fell for it, some hero I am..."
"You're plenty heroic, Gwen. Even if I don't wanna admit it." Ben muttered at first.
"What was that?"
"I said; we should focus on stopping them."
"They need to be at the highest point in order to do the ritual, and that's..." The trio turned to look at the spire overlooking them.
Hex and Charmcaster landed in pillars of light just as a family showed up in an elevator, the groups took a good long look at each other.
Any second now...
One of the kids started screaming and the elevator went down as the door to the top floor was sealed close.
"Without any other disturbances..." Hex began speaking his incantation into the keystone as it floated to the top of the tower while the eclipse ocurred.
"We don't got much time, Ben, take the hoverboard, me and Gwen will take the window washer platform!"
"Alright!" Ben, with his Omnitrix still in the red, donned a cartoony mask and got on his hoverboard before flying towards the spire.
Hex continued his hcant as lasers were cast below from the keystone.
"Hand over the keystone, or face the awesome powers of Lucky Girl!"
Hex, without a word just levitated Lucky Girl and Max and slammed them to the floor.
"I hope you come up with better last words..." He charged a blast while Lucky Girl smirked.
"The most important part of magic... is misdirection." Max snarked as Ben rode by, knocking Hex over and flying away.
"This is so much cooler than magic charms!" Ben began doing several tricks in the air, looking upside down at Grandpa who was waving, "Yeah, I know, I see you!"
"Ben, Hex is-!"
Hex had already tossed Ben almost off the board as the boy grabbed onto it.
"I shall not be denied my destiny as ruler of this mortal world!"
"Now, remind me which one of us knows how to fly this thing. Oh wait, it's me!" Ben drops off, letting the hoverboard spin Hex off and then go to catch the boy, Hex continued to levitate, flying after Ben who dodged lasers until his Omnitrix recharged.
"Alright, now to go rocky road!" Ben transformed, but not into Chromastone, he instead turned into Wildvine who was knocked off by a blast.
"Alright, I've seen enough of those Spider-Man movies to know how to swing!" Wildvine latches onto a lamppost, swinging past some locals before launching from a building, chasing after Hex who returned to get to the spire.
Over with Charmcaster and the others, they were all locked in a brawl, Charmcaster primarily relying on goons to fight, Gwen tossed a mana disc at her that sailed past the golems and shattered the moment it hit her, barely doing any damage.
"Uncle was right, you really are sloppy."
"Stop toying with them! The eclipse is coming!" Hex landed before being tossed up by Wildvine.
"Change of plans, I'm taking the power! Thanks for doing the ritual, uncle!" Charmcaster floated towards the eclipse, summoning the charms as they floated towards her.
"That selfish little brat!" Hex coughed, reaching for his staff only to get blown off.
"Okay, no playing with mystical artifacts kids!" Wildvine grappled the charms with his stretched fingers and cracked them, "Uh oh..."
Everything began to go backwards as Hex and Charmcaster were drawn to a portal in the sky, the trio were all sent back to...
"Ah! What's happening!" Ben woke up in the RV, "Grandpa, Gwen?"
"Ben?" Gwen stared at the boy.
"Okay, where are we?"
"Las Vegas? Magic Convention, remember?"
"Oh no... Gwen, lay off the magical artifacts for the day."
"Ben, what are you talking about, you saw me buy this!" Gwen showed the bracelet.
"Whatever... Let's just uh, get moving." Ben shook off the surprise, did he just time travel?
