The Assembly is the thirty-first episode of Omniverse: At Night.

Plot

The episode begins during the night of Friedkin University. Students were exiting classes and Helena Xagliv would sneak out of her class to find Hex, who was in his library, going through spells. Hex traps Xagliv in a magic barrier as Hex wishes for Helena to stop with her flirtatious endeavours, calling it disturbing. He soon lets her go as he would explain that he wishes to hold an assembly for all the students that attend the college. Helena thinks it's a nice idea as she would contact Gwen in hopes for her to arrive.

The scene transitions to Ben, Rook and Gwen chasing down a rampaging Ssserpent, as Ben wishes for the evil shenanigans to end. Gwen claims that she hasn't seen Ssserpent go on a rampage in ages, as Ben explained that he had been kept in Plumber HQ for some time. Ben transforms into Goop as he would use his slimy body to stretch his limbs and catch Ssserpent before Gwen and Rook would eventually take him in and call the Plumbers to take Ssserpent back into his cell. Upon contacting the Plumbers, Gwen receives a message from Xagliv that an assembly is being called and that she had to attend. Gwen tells Ben that she has to go to the assembly, while inviting both Ben and Rook to have a tour around Friedkin University.

At Friedkin University, Gwen enters the corridors as Ben and Rook follow along, looking around. Ben wished that Friedkin looked a lot more cooler than he imagined, as Gwen would clariy that Friedkin University gets better once you're in the cool classes. Upon meeting Hex, who was waiting for them, Hex welcomes the three inside the large auditourium as they would sit at the back, higher up than everyone else. Hex heads down the steps of the auditourium as he welcomes everyone for coming for the assembly. Hex would begin to congratulate every student for their hard work in classes and even in courses. Xagliv chimes in and claims she was impressed with the assignments throughout the past few weeks, showing her amazement by showing finished coursework done by Gwen and other students.

Ben wishes to see some other places as Gwen would excuse herself as she would exit the assembly and show Ben and Rook around the whole school. Gwen would show them certain classrooms, even the classroom she goes in for Hex's classes. Ben admits that Hex becoming a teacher was a nice idea, as Gwen would wish that Charmcaster would turn out to be the same as her uncle. Upon entering other classrooms, they bump into an unfamiliar school student, who introduces herself as Heather. Heather claims that she is lost, and that she is in search for the assembly hall, as Gwen guides her through. With Heather thanking Gwen for her gratitude, Heather makes her entry to the assembly hall, thanking Gwen for her niavety, sparking magenta mana from the tip of her fingers, before entering the hall.

Cutting back to Ben and Gwen roaming around the halls of Friedkin University, Gwen asks Ben if he would ever decide to do courses in the school. Ben, not particularly interested, declines the offer as he would remind her that having college work would get in the way of his superhero business. Gwen would understand the issues between both schedules interlocking with one another, as students would barge through, screaming, claiming that someone is causing chaos inside the assembly hall. With Ben and Gwen running and barging through the doors, they see Heather ejecting mana blasts, fighting against Hex who retaliated. Ben dials the Omnitrix and claims that Chromastone has everything covered, but transforms into PatchUp instead. Having to improvise, PatchUp plans to ambush Heather while she is distracted, calling for Gwen's assistance. Gwen follows along with the plan as she would attack Heather, who finds this as an opportunity to strike back. PatchUp separates his limbs as they would ambush Heather from behind. With PatchUp's limbs attacking Heather, and Gwen trapping her in a mana shield, Heather blurts out that she is an Anodite (even though it's a lie) as both Gwen and PatchUp (who reattaches his limbs and transforms back into Ben) back off, with Gwen startled at the news.

Gwen is curious about Heather, as Heather lied about how she fled Anodyne after there had been an apparent attack from other Anodites. Gwen doesn't buy her story as she would contradict Heather's claims by saying that she is also an Anodite, further proving that she has a cousin and a grandmother who are of the same race. Heather would convince Gwen to believe her that she is an Anodite by telling Gwen something that is relevant to Anodite culture, something Gwen was unfamiliar with. Ben chimes in and would try to ask Heather if she'd like to join them both as she declines, telling them that she had somewhere else to be, and that it can't be exposed by anyone else otherwise she'd be suspended. With Heather leaving the scene, Ben and Gwen would help out Hex as Hex would thank them both. Gwen and Ben would tell Hex that they'll keep a loockout for any of Heather's other suspicious activites.

The scene transitions to Gwen and Ben hanging with Kevin and Rook inside Kevin's new garage somewhere hidden in the college. Gwen is still skeptical about Heather as sje would explain that it was too convenient for her to know that she is an Anodite and how she was somewhat nice when they first met. Kevin brings up the time when he first met Verdona and how she seemed mysterious at first, then was nice, and then briefly attacked the three of them after Gwen refused to go to Anodyne with Verdona. Gwen would explain that Verdona had never met any of her grandchildren before as she would then say that her actions were justified. Rook would intervene as he would like to visit some parts of Ben and Gwen's family, as they would respond by saying that the majority of their family are oddballs, much like the two of them. Kevin chimes in and tells them that they're the reason their parents never took them out anywhere anymore, with Ben telling Gwen that he told him that after she asked how Kevin knew. Kevin admits that Ben tells him a bunch of stuff that both Rook and Gwen don't know.

Ben changes subject as he wishes to hang with Kevin for a while, while Gwen wishes to show Rook around, and discuss things after being told that Ben tells Kevin information that she herself doesn't know. With Rook and Gwen gone, Ben is glad to spend some time with Kevin, who requests to go and grab a quick Mr. Smoothy, while Rook and Gwen are busy. Ben agrees with the idea, and simply tells Kevin that he's driving. Upon entering Kevin's car, Kevin and Ben take off to Mr. Smoothy, as Ben admits that he feels sorry for everything that happened when they were kids. Kevin tells Ben that he saw the interview that was on TV as he couldn't help but feel guilty for not accepting the offer of joining his gang sooner. Ben forgives him as he confesses that he too felt bad, even having sympathy. Kevin makes a promise to Ben, that if anything were to go wrong, that he would be the last person he'd ever want to hurt, given that Ben was the person to corrupt his form six years ago. Ben understands, telling Kevin that everything would be okay in the end. Finally arriving at Mr. Smoothy, Ben and Kevin would order their drinks, as Ben would feel a lot better after having his little heartfelt conversation with Kevin.

Cutting back to Friedkin University, Gwen asks Rook whether or not he enjoys being Ben's partner in fighting crime. Rook admits that Ben can be a handful at times, still not understanding the majority of Ben's usage of vocabulary. Gwen agrees, telling Rook that both her and Ben used to always pick fights with each other as kids, admitting that part of the times she was the blame for them. Rook would appreciate that Gwen also had struggles with Ben, as he admits that sometimes he wishes he was back in Revonnah, but was grateful enough to accept the offer, though it had led to some minor inconveniences. With Gwen questioning said inconvenience, Rook recalls a memory.

A flashback plays to Rook almost about to enter the Plumbers ship for academic training with Magister Hulka, Sheriff Wat-Senn and some other plumbers. A Revonnahgander named Kundo breaks through the crowd as he goes on about how Rook leaving the planet breaks his Revonnah Kai tradition and training, further trying to persuade him to stay by using manipulation which didn't come to pass. Hulka threatens Kundo of his lack of better judgement as both Hulka and Rook enter the ship, while Wat-Senn chose to stay behind. The flashback ends once Rook revealed that he used to be taught Revonnah Kai by Kundo before his departure for Plumber Academic Training.

Gwen understands what had gone on as she finds it weird how Kundo rejected Rook's choosing of going to the Plumbers, as Rook would explain that he believed off-worlders were forbidden to enter Revonnah, before getting cut off by an explosion that took a chunk off the wall. Gwen and Rook are exposed to Rock Monsters, who were actively destroying the college and causing havoc. With Gwen and Rook jumping into the action, Gwen figures out that Charmcaster is somewhere in the college, as she would plan out an attack on the group of magic rocks. Gwen would use her mana disks in attempt to crack the Rock Monsters, while Rook would eliminate a few with the usage of his Proto-Tool. With Rook managing to successfully preventing Gwen from getting attacked from behind, Gwen calls Kevin as she asks where they both headed off to.

Transitioning to Kevin and Ben's side, Kevin explains that both he and Ben went to Mr. Smoothy while having a conversation, as Gwen asks for Kevin and Ben to arrive as quick as they can. Kevin assures her they'll get there as he hangs up, before getting ready to head back to Friedkin University. Ben asks Kevin what was up, as Kevin hypothesises that Gwen called him because something had gone on while they were away. With Ben ready to transform, Kevin halts him as he doesn't wish for Ben to total his car while as an alien. Ben tells Kevin that they got to get there faster as he transforms into Upgrade, merging himself with the car, and enhances the car to accelerate its speed.

Cutting back to the fight, Gwen successfully blows off the head of one of the Rock Monsters as she would cast a spell to make other Rock Monsters brittle, making it easier for her and Rook to successfully take the rest down. With Kevin and Upgrade (who transforms back) arriving at the scene, a few more Rock Monsters run into frame, as Ben dials the Omnitrix and transforms into Eye Guy. Eye Guy began shooting his lasers from his eyes as they would cause some Rock Monsters to break apart and lose their sentience. With Eye Guy questioning where the Rock Monsters are coming from, Gwen tells him that she thinks Charmcaster is nearby, as she would tell Ben, Rook and Kevin to take down the Rock Monsters while she goes on an investigation. With Gwen fleeing the scene, Eye Guy goes back to shooting lasers from his eyes, while Rook would use his Proto-Tool to fight, and Kevin absorbing metal from his car to shatter the Rock Monsters into pieces.

In a dark room, Heather is seen opening the door with her magic as she would locate something that she had been wanting to get her hands on, before she is caught by Gwen. Gwen is surprised to see Heather, as she would come to the realisation that Heather was a liar. Heather reveals her true identity as Charmcaster by removing an ID Mask from her face, exposing her true appearance. Shocked to find out that Heather was just an alias for Charmcaster to break in, Charmcaster thanks Gwen for her naivety, before continuing to search for the Staff of Ages, just before Gwen runs in and ejects a mana disk in her direction. Charmcaster would retaliate as both her and Gwen would begin to fight. With Charmcaster getting the upper hand, Charmcaster runs at full speed in Gwen's direction as she'd burst the wall with both Charmcaster and Gwen being in Eye Guy's line of sight, just before taking cover and changing into someone else. As Charmcaster was about to strike, she is ambushed by Shocksquatch, who had zapped her from behind.

Charmcaster compliments Ben's thinking of attacking her while she was distracted by Gwen, as she would begin to attack both Shocksquatch and Gwen at the same time, who both jump down from the roof and onto the ground. Shocksquatch wishes to use a better alien for the job, as Gwen suggests Chromastone. With Charmcaster jumping down in front of Shocksquatch and Gwen (who were fleeing to get the better ground for battle) Charmcaster blasts them both with her magenta magic which sends them both flying, with Shocksquatch transforming back. Ben becomes arrogant at the fact the Omnitrix has timed out on him sooner, as Charmcaster vows for both of them to give up. With one last try, Ben dials the Omnitrix as he hopes to transform into Chromastone, only to transform into Ghostfreak instead, with Ghostfreak having to come up with an alternative to his original plan.

Gwen and Charmcaster continue to attack one another as Ghostfreak would intervene, phasing into Charmcaster and possessing her body. With both the Ectonurite and Charmcaster fighting indirectly (because of Ghostfreaks possession) Gwen casts a spell to create a rune capable of disabling Charmcaster's magic which became successful once Ghostfreak phased out of Charmcaster's body, and before Charmcaster could retaliate. This then resulted in the Rock Monsters losing their sentience and crumbling into nothing. Ghostfreak soon transforms back into Ben, who wonders why the Omnitrix isn't working properly, hoping to pay Azmuth a visit sometime. With Rook and Kevin congratulating Ben and Gwen for defeating Charmcaster, Gwen is caught off-guard by the time, hoping to make it to the assembly hall. Gwen arrives at the assembly hall as Hex would tell Gwen that the assembly is restarting due to Charmcaster's sudden ambush. With Gwen soon taking a seat, the episode ends with Ben, Rook and Kevin taking a seat next to Gwen, while Hex and Xagliv, along with Aniceto, congratulate the students for their hard work.
