Tetrax Shard is a supporting protagonist in Ben 10: Recalibrated.
Appearance[]
Like most Petrosapiens, his body is bulky and made completely of living crystal that can morph or warp as he wills. Showing his age, he has some additional crystal grown on his chin in the shape of facial hair. He typically wears a high-tech black and grey mercenaries uniform that can completely envelope his body and hide his appearance; it is also able to repair and reshape to allow for use of his natural abilities.
Personality[]
Tetrax comes off as rude, serious and uncaring at first, though these developed over time as masks for his pain; he admits he was quite selfish and aloof in his youth. He tends to take things seriously but takes things as they come and adjusts to them in a very relaxed way and rarely looses his temper, having learned to master his emotions. He also has an extreme passion for hoverboarding. He carries deep depression and trauma due to the role he played in the destruction of his planet.
History[]
In his youth he was rather aloof and reckless and took up as a freelance mercenary. He foolishly agreed to do a job for the warlord Vilgax, delivering to him a powerful relic from his homeworld. When his people refused to yield to vilgax and even fought back against him, the relic was used in a weapon that destroyed Petropia. Left as one of the last of his kind and the guilt of having contributed to the destruction of his home, he went rogue. He took up the name Hoverboard and became a bounty hunter with the intension of getting revenge on vilgax, but over the years he hardened into a darker person and embraced his calling, forgetting his intentions.
Years later, his skill earned him the position of being hired by Vilgax as one of the bounty hunters assigned to hunt Ben Tennyson and retrieve the omnitrix. He was originally just as cold and uncaring towards ben but seeing a version of his younger self in the human, his own past sins and pains began to resurface. Determined to see Tennyson not make the same mistakes he had, he sided with him in fending off the other bounty hunters. He remained on earth for a short time, mentoring Ben in the abilities of his aliens and how to properly use them in combat, before returning to space to act as an active force in thwarting vilgax's power. He would also continue his bounty hunting and later act as the catalyst of Ben eventually meeting Azmuth, the creator of the omnitrix.
He would then form a team consisting of Myaxx, Gluto, SevenSeven, Retaliator and a Piscciss Volanns prisoner, who act as freelancers and a black ops Plumber force; they are often called upon as aid by both ben and azmuth. He would also achieve the restoration of his home and race with the aid azmuth, ben and a special being whose DNA was preserved within the omnitrix. When ben visits the future, Tetrax has become the Magistratus of the plumbers galaxy-wide and is married to Myaxx.
Powers and Abilities[]
He shares his species' natural abilities to shape, warp and project the crystal of their bodies in a variety of offensive, defensive and productive ways. He is also a masterful hoverboarder and expertly trained with many types of firearms.
Relationships[]
Tetrax later develops an uncle-like relationship with Ben and is one of the boys mentor figures, alongside Max Tennyson.
Myaxx developed a crush on tetrax shortly after they met in the search for Azmuth; though he appreciated her aid and skill, he was mostly indifferent if not annoyed with her at first. After they formed their team, she always made passing flirtations towards him. Tetrax fluctuated between ignoring, or being oblivious to them, or awkwardly attempting to respond to them. They eventually did start a relationship; by the future, the two have married and have a hybrid daughter.
