Tekau is the Omnitrix's theoretical DNA sample of a Toa from Spherus Magna.
As an adaptation of a species from an existing franchise (Bionicle), Tekau is an entirely free-use alien, but if you use him and get the lore wrong I am sentencing you to watch the entirety of the 9-hour-long Bionicle lore recap.
Abilities[]
Tekau is a Toa of Air, which allows him to control, create, and absorb air. This also grants him extremely enhanced athleticism and nimbleness, even in comparison to other Toa.
Due to his biomechanical nature, Tekau inherently has superhuman strength and durability, being able to life over a ton and being essentially bulletproof.
Tekau has access to a type of energy called Toa Power that can either be used to heal or infused into other objects to transform Matoran into Toa.
Tekau could theoretically fuse with two other Toa to create a larger being with all of their powers called a Toa Kaita.
Equipment[]
Toa as a species are extremely reliant on certain equipment in order to function, so said equipment is automatically generated by the Omnitrix when the transformation is activated.
Kanohi Mahiki[]
Tekau wears the Kanohi Mahiki, the Great Mask of Illusions. This mask allows the user to create various optical illusions and even shapeshift into other beings, albeit only superficially.
Jet Sabers[]
All Toa channel their elemental powers through unique weapons called Toa Tools. Tekau's Toa Tool is pair of twin blades called Jet Sabers, which perform both the standard function of channeling Tekau's aerokinesis and a secondary function where they can be attached to his arms to create jet-powered wings that allow him to fly long distances.
Jet Staff[]
Tekau can combine his Jet Sabers into a single massive bladed weapon called the Jet Staff that moves more slowly than the Jet Sabers but has much more force behind its hits.
Weaknesses[]
If Tekau's mask is ever removed, his powers will be severely weakened. In addition, the ability to use his mask's powers is a skill that must be trained rather than an inherent talent. In a similar vein, losing his Jet Sabers would make it more difficult for him to control air; while he could still theoretically use his aerokinesis, it would be extremely inefficient.
Unlike his elemental powers, Tekau's Toa Power does not recharge, and must be used cautiously; if he runs out, he will not be able to use it again until his next transformation.
Fusing into a Toa Kaita requires a certain amount of mental fortitude that some Omnitrix users may not have.

Etymology[]
- "Tekau" is the Maori word for "ten".
- "Toa" is the Maori word for "warrior" or "hero".
Trivia[]
- Toa and most other beings in the Matoran Universe are artificial lifeforms made of a synthetic atomic element called protodermis that can assume both organic and inorganic forms. Whether or not a Toa could be used as an Omnitrix transformation is a bit unclear, as Bionicle writer Greg Farshtey initially stated that Toa have no DNA as they do not reproduce, but would later state that organic protodermis does have DNA, though he "[hadn't] really thought about it".
- Tekau's default form is styled around the idea that Ben Tennyson is using it; other Omnitrix users with differing personalities and traits may transform into Toa of a different element and have their own personalized masks, Toa Tools, and armor.
- To clarify, Ben is represented as a Toa of Air due to Toa of that element having green armor and tending to be lighthearted and carefree almost to a fault. He wears the Kanohi Mahiki due to its illusionary shapeshifting abilities superficially mirroring the function of the Omnitrix, and his Toa Tools are swords since the most iconic weapon Ben has used was Ascalon, even if only briefly.
- Tekau's physical model uses the Toa Hagah Iruini set as its base skeleton, as the Omnitrix transforms the user into the peak of their respective species and Iruini was the only Toa Hagah of Air represented in the actual toyline, with Toa Hagah being considered the elite among Toa.
- The model also uses pieces from other Toa of Air, most notably Matau's Kanohi Mahiki and Lewa Nuva's shoulder armor and blades. The "flight mode" of his Jet Sabers reference the wing modes of Matau and Lewa Nuva's own Toa Tools, and he has a "stopper" gear added to his back that can be slid outwards to stop the gear mechanism connected to his arm from spinning, allowing the arm to be posed, a feature originating from the Toa Nuva sets.
- You could argue that Tekau's "home planet" should be listed as the Matoran Universe, but seeing as the Matoran Universe was built on Spherus Magna and post-story all remaining Toa now live directly on Spherus Magna, you can bite me.
