The Tantabus is a form of evil magic that grows within the dreams of powerful magic users in the Friendship is Magic universe at the Edge of the Omniverse. They appeared in Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood as the primary antagonist of the episode Ghost in the Dream.

Appearance[]
The exact appearance of the Tantabus varies as it requires to best torture its host; in the case of Ben's Tantabus it appeared as:
- The Daleks
- Salvia Rosemary
- Kev 'Leven
- The Flesh
- Ester
- Tony Stark
In all cases, the Tantabus is distinguishable as a mass of swirling, glittering shadow.
Personality[]
The Tantabus is a cruel reflection of Ben's anxieties. It is viciously spiteful, with access to all of Ben's memories. It has not greater purpose or ambition save to continue its own existence by fuelling the guilt that birthed it.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Tantabus is a dreamwalker. It can, given sufficient strength, leap from one dream into another in much the same way Princess Luna does. Despite not being able to host its own dreams, it has control over the dreams it infests. The Tantabus will take whatever shape it requires- and create whatever dream it wants- in order to best torture its host.
Ben's Tantabus is significantly more intelligent than Luna's Tantabus, taking a much more active role in the torture of its host.
Biography[]
Ben's Tantabus was created when Ben fell asleep on Equestria's Moon while both transformed as a powerful Equestrian magic user (Doodlebug) and embroiled deeply within his own anxieties and negativity. The Tantabus acted as the main antagonist of the episode Ghost in the Dream When he began to dream, the Tantabus began to manifest. It is unclear exactly when it formed- but the first instance it made itself known to Ben was as it emerged from the animate corpse of Queen Chrysalis.
The Tantabus terrorised Ben throughout the nightmare, even as Princess Luna tried to comfort him. Though the parasite never made its goals clear, Luna explained that it preyed on Ben's guilt and fears. It saw great success at this- acting as a mirror to the worries that Ben had expressed while he was awake- However it lost control over Ben when it attempted to convince him that he was responsible for Kev 'Leven's death. Ben vanquished the Tantabus with the magic of his Alicorn form.

- The Tantabus, as a concept, originates from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?. It was way too cool of a concept to have never, yet, been utilised outside of that story.
- In terms of the Beyond Bellwood timeline, this episode of FiM has not yet transpired by the time of Ghost in the Dream.
