Plot[]
The episode begins inside Plumber HQ's training room; Rook and Ben were training for future battles, as Ben was in the form of Brainstorm, analysing the area, as Rook would stop to focus on Brainstorm, who uses his halt as an opportunity to strike. Rook dodges, granting enough time for Brainstorm to pursuit Rook from the side. Rook congratulates Ben on managing to find an opening in which he could strike. Brainstorm transforms back into Ben, as he congratulates Rook for taking part in the training program.
Max later arrives as he gives both Ben and Rook a warm goodbye, as Ben would head off home, and Rook would sleep in the chambers throughout the HQ. Arriving at home in his DX Mark 10, Ben enters his house, walks into his room, and crashes onto his bed. The timeskips to the next night, Rook is watching over certain prisoners in their cells, like Psyphon, as Ben later arrives. Rook welcomes Ben, who asks Rook if he'd like to go around Bellwood in the Proto-TRUK, as Rook obliges to the idea. They exit HQ, heading to the Proto-TRUK, eventually getting inside, as they took off.
Ben would ask Rook about his favourite alien, as Rook confirms that he doesn't have a favourite, telling Ben that he likes them all. Ben would grow curious about Rook liking aliens like Stinkfly, as Rook would clarify that he isn't too bothered about the Lepidopterran race, further clarifying that he isn't too bothered about Necrofriggians, Tetramands, Vaxosaurians and even complex species like Celestialsapiens. Confused, Ben asks Rook if he ever worked with anyone who was a member of mentioned species', as Rook would shook his head.
Later, Ben and Rook encounter an eerie, shady figure, who was walking past the Proto-TRUK, on the phone to someone. The duo would proceed to investigate, causing the person to catch them off guard, making an escape. Ben tells Rook to split up, so when Ben is busy fending off the foe, Rook can just swoop in and catch him. Rook agrees to the plan, as they split, giving Ben the opportunity to chase after him. The figure, who is revealed to be Corvo, is seen fleeing the scene, taking shortcuts as he was miles ahead of Ben, who tries to cut through buildings as Big Chill, but transforms into Heatblast, smacking directly into the wall. Having to improvise, Heatblast would fly over in order to catch up with Corvo, who had gotten inside of his vehicle, zooming off.
Watching it all happen, Rook was stood on the roof of a building as he watches the Pyronite chase Corvo. Little did he know, somebody else was spying on him. Back at the chase, Heatblast throws a fireball at a tire, causing the vehicle to crash, as Rook uses it as an opportunity to swing down by using his Proto-TOOL as a grappling hook, swinging in before pouncing at Corvo, causing the two to tumble over. Heatblast transforms back into Ben, thanking him for jumping in at the right time. They then questioned Corvo, who refused to talk, until Ben dropped the question about him working with anyone, as he refuses to answer, only giving hints. Rook insists on letting him go, as they had no evidence to prove that he's in some gang, as Ben sighed, warning Corvo to not start any shenanigans. Corvo lied by telling him that he understood, as he would leave. As soon as Ben and Rook left, Corvo called upon his leader, giving him some information, as the leader was pleased to know that Ben Tennyson was still active, but still had his secret identity back.
The camera cuts to Ben and Rook going back to training at Plumber HQ, as Rook would ask Ben to turn into an alien that would make Rook's training more of a challenge. Obliged to the idea, Ben transforms into Ampbibian as he'd throw out multiple attacks at once, giving Rook little to no time to react as he'd try and dodge. Ampfibian was giggling whilst watching Rook trying to dodge. Eventually, Rook manages to counter the electrokinetic blasts from the Amperi, as he'd eventually fire back, with the fired shot hitting Ampfibian, stunning him. Rook would hold Ampfibian at gun point, causing the training to come to an end, as Ampfibian would transform back into Ben.
Meanwhile, in a warehouse, Corvo and Hoodlum, the spy who spied on Rook, entered through the big door, as they are greeted by Fistrick. Fistrick asks about any information, to which they begin to give info about Ben being a superhero, assuming he had kept his secret identity. They also spill out that Rook is Ben's partner. Interested, Fistrick begins to use this to his advantage, planning something that would result in Ben having to reveal his identity to the world if Fistrick had used the information as intended. Fistrick would pull out a detonation device as he would plan to use it as a diversion in order to get the heroes in Fistrick's trap. Fistrick sets off the bomb as it explodes on impact on the ground, as the gang would wait for Ben and Rook to arrive.
Ben and Rook are informed about a recent explosion that occured at the warehouse by Grandpa Max, who had ran into the training room, as they would exit Plumber HQ, taking the Proto-TRUK in order to get there. Ben was confused, as he thought Corvo agreed to not cause havoc again. By the time they arrive, they find a giant hole on the roof, as they would enter the area, investigating the place. Suddenly, with Rook stepping on something, they are trapped in an energy field which was triggered by a motion sensor. Out appears a smirking Fistrick, along with Corvo, Fistrick's thug and Hoodlum, who mocked the two for their stupidity.
Ben called out Corvo for lying to the two for not agreeing to stop creating any sort of shenanigans, as Corvo snickered, mocking Ben for his stupidity and the fact that they both were gullible to believe him in the first place. Fistrick announces his plan to expose Ben's identity, as Ben would gasp. He asked Rook if he was spied on, as Rook didn't see anyone near him. Hoodlum smirked, revealing that he was the spy, and how he was one of the two to reveal information about Ben. With Fistrick having all the info against Ben, transforms into Chromastone, as he would absorb the energy field which was created by energy, but mainly electricity. Shocked and afraid, Fistrick and his gang would spread out, as Chromastone had one mission: save his identity.
Rook went after Corvo first, with Chromastone going after Fistrick, who would grab out his huge blaster, firing at him, only for the Crystalsapien to absorb those attacks and redirect them, knocking Fistrick off his feet. Chromastone gets attacked from behind by Fistrick's unnamed thug, as Chromastone couldn't fend them off all at once, so he quick changes into Bloxx, trapping the thug in the dome whilst in the air, stretch his arm out to grab Fistrick, and launch him outside. The thug breaks free as he would grab Fistrick's blaster and continuously shoot at him. Suddenly, Rook and Corvo would jump out as Rook is helped by Bloxx, protecting the two by creating a wall as Bloxx would transform back into Ben. Rook asks Ben if they should try out what they did in training, as Ben would agree. Ben jumps out as he accidentally transforms into Gravattack. Not knowing the alien, he is bombarded by Hoodlum and the unnamed thug. Annoyed, Gravattack pushes his hand out, creating a gravikinetic attack which causes them both to float in the air. Amazed by his powers, Gravattack would drop them onto the ground, as Rook would jump in and trap them in a net.
Suddenly, Rook is caught by Fistrick who treatens to kill Rook unless if Ben gives up his identity. Not wanting Rook to die, Gravattack gives in as he'd accept defeat. Fistrick grins deviously, as he was ready to expose Ben's secret identity, but as soon as he was about to reveal to the entire world live that Ben is a superhero, Gravattack calls upon Rook to destroy the work Fistrick was going to use in order to expose Ben's identity. Fuming, Fistrick jumps at Gravattack who pushes him back by using his gravikinesis. Gravattack would expand his knowledge by transforming into his spherical form, orbiting metal poles around him before launching them at Fistrick, creauting a dome to prevent him from escaping. As soon as the battle was over, the Plumbers arrive shortly after Gravattack transforms back into Ben.
With the Plumbers sorting out the situation by arresting Fistrick, Hoodlum, Corvo and the unnamed thug, Ben and Rook would get back into the Proto-TRUK, as Rook would drive off, with Ben commenting that he is tired, as the episode ends.
