Seesel is an alien created by CaT that is free for anyone to use as long as they give proper credit.
Abilities[]
Seesel is an alien with the ability to inflict a curse on anyone within his line of sight that causes them to instantaneously fail whatever they're doing, usually in a manner that causes them bodily harm.
Seesel has one large green eye that wraps all the way around the back of his head, giving him a full 360-degree field of vision.
Seesel is small and agile, allowing him to fit into tiny spaces and making him difficult to catch.
Seesel himself is immune to any and all sight-based curses or attacks.
Weaknesses[]
Seesel's curse only has any effect on targets he can actively see.
Appearances[]
If you use Seesel in your series, please note their appearance(s) here.
Etymology[]
- The name "Seesel" is a portmanteau of "See" and "Weasel".
- The species name "Mastila" is a combination of the word "mati", the Greek evil eye, with the world "Mustela", the genus of weasels.
- The planet name "Oresterra" is a portmanteau of Orestes, the title of a Greek play, and the word "terra".
Trivia[]
- Seesel overall was inspired by an incident in 408 BC where Hegelochus, an actor in Euripides' play Orestes, flubbed one of his lines, turning the line "after the storm I see again a calm sea" (γαλήν' ὁρῶ, galḗn' horô) into "after the storm I see again a weasel" (γαλῆν ὁρῶ, galên' horô).
- His powers and color scheme were inspired by the concept of the Evil Eye and the charms used to ward it off.
