SapienSwitches are an Omnitrix-like technology from Earth-83 prominently featured in Tech Cross.
History[]
SapienSwitches were developed by Dr. Emilia Krauze as an assistant device for alien immigrants coming to Earth. During her extensive work with the alien community, she noted that new residents often faced difficulty with Earth's human-centric infrastructure, and created the SapienSwitch in order to help them navigate life on their new planet.
Functionality[]
SapienSwitches are very basic switch-like devices that use rudimentary transformation matrix technology to transform their alien user into a human. Though they can technically be used by humans as well, they won't have much of an effect for obvious reasons.
There are rumors that SapienSwitches can be used as "genetic refreshers" of sorts for humans to undo an injury, but their potential for this has not been researched and they are not recognized as proper medical devices.
By default, SapienSwitches use an advanced algorithm to translate their user's natural appearance into their human transformations, customizing their phenotypic expressions and clothing items to keep a unique sense of identity between forms. This process can be overridden with manual programming for further customization.
Models[]
Model Type 0[]
The original SapienSwitch model developed as a proof of concept. This fairly chunky device is modeled on a crosswalk box and has two displays indicating whether or not it's currently in use.
Model Type 1[]
The first proper SapienSwitch model released onto the market. This version of the device is small enough to fit in the palm of the average human hand and has no specific displays, instead simply lighting up when in use.

Trivia[]
- The name "SapienSwitch" is a play on "homo sapiens", the scientific name for humans.
