The Protector, also known as the New Ascalon and the New Sword of Protection, is a weapon that first appeared in Legends of Tomorrow. The sword is a perfect lookalike of the original Sword of Protection, allowing its wielder the same abilities possessed by She-Ra and the wielder of the Ascalon.

Azmuth was inspired to create the Protector when Adora denied the Ascalon to her daughter Aurora, who was not confident in leaving a weapon of such power in the hands of a ten-year-old. Azmuth set himself the goal of developing something similar that was faithful to the ideals he had set himself with the Omnitrix.

The Protector grants its wielder a variety of powers and abilities, which come in part from both the Ascalon and the original Sword of Protection. However, it is designed so that it can only be used by First Ones.
- Trasformation: The Protector is capable of transforming its current rightful owner into a less powerful version of the legendary warrior She-Ra, becoming taller and more muscular in the process. Through this, the sword acquires:
- Remote Slashing: When swung, Protector can cut size-irrelevant gashes into targets that are thousands of feet away.
- Slash Beam: The sword can be swung to shoot out a gigantic white beam in the shape of its slash which, at its weakest, can break through rock, and at its strongest, can damage the enemies like Way Big.
- Electricity Generation: Protector can generate electricity; shoot electric-adjacent beams.
- Force Field Generation: And can conjure a dome shield around enemies using an electric beam.
- Whirlwind Generation: If Protector is spun around, it can generate a whirlwind of such high speeds to be able to blow away a Vaxasaurian.
- Mind Control Immunity: Protector can protect its user from the mind control and possession abilities of alien species such as Vladat and Ectonurite.
- Enhanced Durability: Protector is incredibly durable and strong.
- Energy Absorption/Conversion: Protector can absorb and convert energies into rainbow-colored beams.
- Energy Deflection: Protector is particularly good at blocking, cutting through, and bouncing back all types of energy attacks like that from Anodites.
- Light Generation: Protector can generate light to illuminate dark areas or blind enemies.
- Recalling: If separated from it, its user can return the sword to their hand.
- Controlling the Heart of Etheria: Protector could be control the Heart of Etheria, the massive weapon within the planet of Etheria created by the First Ones.
Trivia[]
- His name is based on the videogame Ben 10: Protector of Earth.
- Although it shares many powers with the Ascalon, the Protector is an entirely different sword.
