Prodigy is the Infinimatrix's DNA sample of a Polygnost from the planet Codico X in Ben 10: Protector of the Omniverse.
Appearance[]
Prodigy is a sextupedal dark blue alien with an orange underside. He has four toes on each of his front and middle legs, and three toes on each hind leg. He has one orange tendril on each cheek and two on his head, all stretching to the ground. He has one large, circular green eye with a vertical black bar as a pupil. The Infinimatrix symbol is on his chest.
Transformation Sequence[]
Ben slams down the Infinimatrix's dial and is engulfed in a green light.

Powers and Abilities[]
Prodigy can replicate any kind of knowledge, be it knowledge over a subject, a foreign language, or mastery of a fighting style. He can do this by placing the ends of his tendrils on someone's head. He can replicate the knowledge of multiple individuals in succession without overwriting previous knowledge. The duration of the replication process depends on the size of the desired information and how it is stored in the mind of the person Prodigy is in contact with.
Prodigy can use his tendrils as extra mandibles; stretching, extending and manipulating them to control objects from a distance.
Weaknesses[]
Any knowledge Prodigy replicates only lasts as long as the transformation is active. His knowledge base resets upon every transformation.
If Prodigy is interrupted during the replication process, he will gain incomplete information.
Prodigy replicates knowledge, not fact, so it is possible for him to gain incorrect information.
Although Prodigy can gain knowledge on skills, he can only demonstrate skills compatible with his anatomy.
Species and Planet Information[]
Polygnosts are well-known throughout the galaxy as historians who are always eager to learn, perhaps to a fault. Large patches of Codico X have been converted to archival storage rooms. Activists, while still being in favor of recording and cataloguing history, seek to strike a balance between the natural environment, which has been in decline in the past few centuries, and the ever-expanding concrete and metal that eats up the planet's surface. Subterranean projects are one of their arguments towards improvement of the situation.
Some historical records on Codico X contain information that other planets have tried to suppress. This has caused tension between the Polygnosts and other species.
A common practice between Polygnost couples who have reached a certain stage is to sync up their knowledge bases.
Codico X has a slow orbit, giving Polygnosts long lifespans by Earth standards.
Education is free by law on Codico X. As such, the planet has a large number of immigrants from less fortunate planets.

Etymology[]
Prodigy's name comes from the word meaning "a young person with exceptional qualities or abilities".
His species' name, Polygnost, roughly translates to "many knowledge" in Greek.
His planet's name, Codico X, is a corrupted version of the word "codex".
