The Omnitrix Version 2 is a machine in Ben 10: Heroes Endeavour that was used by Ben Tennyson to Transform into alien life-forms.
Appearance[]
The Omnnitrix Version 2 resembles the Porototype Omnitrix and the Ultimatrix in body shape, but the edge closest to the hand is curved so that its slightly longer in the middle and becoming shorter towards the sides. The edge furthest away from the hand is straight, but has a curved rectangular bump on the top side. The body is colored a dark blueish-grey and each edge is colored silver.
In the middle of the body, there is a white hexagon where the Omnitrix core sits with a white band around it. A smaller, silver hexagon is in the middle of the white one that has circular, green lights in each corner. In the middle of that, there's a blue hexagonal faceplate which displays a green hourglass symbol in the same style as the cover of the Omniverse Omnitrix. Above and below the hexagons, there are 2 green, rectangular buttons. When activated, the faceplate will open up by splitting into 2 halves which will slide into the top and bottom of the silver hexagon respectively, revealing the Omnitrix core. Around the Omnitrix core is a green hexagon with dark green circuitry lines running into it. The Omnitrix core has a blueish-silver ring around it that resembles the Recalibrated Omnitrix and Ultimatrix.
Origin[]
When Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Rook arrived at Galvan Prime, Azmuth opened up The Official Omnitrix and placed a component inside the core. The Omnitrix was sent into recalibration mode, and after 10 minutes, the design changed into the Omnitrix Version 2, an update to the Official Omnitrix
Features[]
Just like the Prototype Omnitrix, the Ultimatrix, and the Official Omnitrix, the Omnitrix Version 2 mainly allows for the user to alter their DNA at will and transform into a numerous variety of alien species that are each with their own unique powers and abilities (along with their weaknesses) and in a selection of alien DNA that is in groups of 10. There are 1,000,912 DNA samples inside this iteration of the Omnitrix. Alien DNA is "injected" into the user, meaning they retain the wielder's personality, memories, and consciousness. Because of this, most of the aliens are not full-blown aliens, with the exceptions of Ectonurite and Conductoid DNA.
When the Omnitrix Version 2 transforms the user, it will transform them into a prime example of the species they selected, meaning they will be the fittest, strongest, healthiest, and most versatile version of that species possible. It also bases the aliens' appearances off what the user would've looked like if they were born as that alien.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can adjust it's size to fit the user's wrist.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a holographic interface, where a holographic circle is shown, with the top half having alien faces, which is activated by pushing in the 2 rectangular buttons on the sides of the Omnitrix. Scrolling through the aliens is done by the user touching the faceplate, or in other ways, scrolling up and down or scrolling in a circle, akin to a touch screen. The faceplate will then slide open automatically after Ben chooses his alien, after that, a full, green hologram of the selected alien will be displayed on top of the core, if the alien selection is not changed after 5 seconds, the core will come out. When pressed, it will trigger the transformation.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a DNA scanner. If the user goes out of range of uncatalogued DNA, all Omnitrix functions will be disabled until the DNA sample is in range to scan again. This setback can be manually turned off and on, but Ben normally leaves it off.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a quick-change feature that automatically transforms the user back to normal when they are done using their transformation, causing it not to time out and allowing the user to transform again far quicker. Manually touching the Omnitrix symbol not only can allow the user to immediately transform back into normal, but can also be used to transform into different alien forms while already transformed
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a Master Control. This function allows the user to stay in alien form for as long as they wish, with infinite quick changes. While the master control is on, the user can transform simply by saying "Omnitrix", then the species name of which they want to turn into, with master control, the user can even change forms just by thinking of the desired alien they want to turn into. The master control also unlocks every DNA sample in the Omnitrix.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a Randomizer Function that turns the user into a different amount of aliens at random moments, being randomly selective of the transformations.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can add extra features to alien forms in order to make them safer/more stable.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can synchronize with another Omnitrix if activated at the same time. It is because of this feature that the Omnitrix's counterpart from Dimension 23 has unlocked aliens that it did not have previously. It is also because of this feature that the incomplete Hypertrix was able to even transform the user to begin with.
Unlike the Prototype Omnitrix and the Ultimatrix, the Omnitrix Version 2 does not mistransform. Any mistransformations are purely due to user error or if the Omnitrix has been tampered with.
The Omnitrix Version 2 does not rely on the Codon Stream for transformation. Instead, the DNA is stored within itself in a computerized form. The Omnitrix can sync with the Codon Stream in order to download new alien DNA samples, or upload scanned DNA to it.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can grant its user, as well as an alien form, the ability to speak another language fluently.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can change the user's gender to adapt to another species.
Extentions[]
The Omnitrix Version 2, when the user is transformed, places the Omnitrix symbol at the easiest accessible place for the user to hit that won't be a hindrance to the user's powers
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a 2-way communication system with Plumber Badges, but is blocked from Plumber HQ due to being classed as foreign tech. The Omnitrix Version 2 can also record messages, similar to voicemail.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has the functionalities of a regular digital watch.
The Omnitrix Version 2 adapts the user's clothing to the alien they transform into. It can even make clothing resemble that of the types of clothing the alien species naturally wears.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a built-in Universal Translator, it can even translate the language of transformed alien into English, such as when Ben turns into Wildmutt.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a distress signal function and homing device, as Azmuth was able to find and rescue Ben when was trapped inside the Incursean Exile Pod.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a security lock system so that it can only be used by the user, as well as an alternate identification program if changes by outside forces occur to the user.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a failsafe that kicks in in the event that the user's life is in jeopardy. This feature turns them into the needed alien to survive.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has failsafes installed by Azmuth that prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from tampering with the device.
The Omnitrix Version 2 can have custom playlists, allowing Ben to keep his most powerful aliens locked in case of any mistransforming. Those aliens are:
- Way Big
- Feedback
- Alien X
- Clockwork
- Atomix
- TOA
The Omnitrix Version 2 can also be set to only transform the user into custom playlist aliens.
The Omnitrix Version 2 has a failsafe against magic
Unlike the Omnitrix Version 1, the Omnitrix Version 2 can no longer lock the user out from unlocking new aliens.
The Omnitrix can keep the user stable in most transformations by keeping each transformations' eye color the same as the user's.
Voice Command[]
The Omnitrix Version 2 can be controlled by Voice Command.
Omnitrix User Access Voice Recognition Mode - Makes the Omnitrix recognize Ben
Command Code 10 - Overrides voice command lockout
Command Code 1010 Tennyson Benjamin Disengage Life-Form Lock - Disengages Life-Form lock
Command Code 000 Decouple 0 - Decouples the Omnitrix from the user, allowing the Omnitrix to be worn by others
Command Code 000 Destruct 0 - Sets the Omnitrix into self-destruct mode
Command Code 2705 - Unlocks the Powerhouse Aliens
Malfunctions[]
If the Omnitrix Version 2 does mistransform, it is because of the user slamming on the Omnitrix's core and (inadvertently) the scroll pad. Other reasons for mistranfoming include not perfecting either the preload or proper pressure application and misreading the display. Overall, incorrect transformations are caused by the user's general sloppiness. Slamming the core also affects the time limit of a transformation, as the user could stay transformed for hours.
When switching between aliens, the user could be manipulating the controls. Transforming into another alien without changing back does not always work and is bad for the Omnitrix.
Much like previous iterations of the device, the Omnitrix Version 2 is not hack proof.
Modes[]
Each mode on the Omnitrix Version 2 is represented by the core color and the color of the lights on the silver hexagon.
Active Mode (Color - Green) - The Omnitrix is ready for use and has full access to all features
Recharge Mode (Lights are off, but they appear dark green) - The Omnitrix has ran out of power and needs to recharge, recharging can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 hour depending on how long the user stayed in alien form. In recharge mode, the user cannot transform into aliens and other features are limited.
Capture Mode (Color - Yellow) - The Omnitrix has detected uncatalogued DNA in the area and the faceplate will display a sonar-like map showing where the new DNA sample is located.
Recalibration Mode (Color - Blue) - The Omnitrix is set in this mode after either an update is received or the user hasn't worn the Omnitrix for a long period of time. Recalibration takes 10 Minutes and during that time, all Omnitrix functions are disabled. Once it's complete, the Omnitrix design and features can be switched around and changed, alien playlists can even be reset.
Randomizer Mode (Color - Cyan) - Enables the Randomizer Function. This function is manually activated and deactivated.
Life-Form Lock (Color - White) - The user will be permanently locked as the next alien they transform into/the alien they currently are. This is manually enabled and disabled with Voice command
Master Control (Color - Brighter Green) - Turns on the Master Control, activated through voice command
Self-destruct Mode (Color - Orange) - The color the Omnitrix takes when Self-Destruct mode is activated.
