Omnitrix (Replica)

Omnitrix (Replica) is a machine in Ken 10: A New Era that was used by Kenith Kirby Tennyson to, the device is a portable library of intergalactic genetic data that allowed the wielder to alter their DNA at will and rapidly transform into a variety of different alien species, each with their own unique abilities.

Appearance

The Omnitrix resembles a digital wristwatch. Its faceplate is now square rather than round and has a white, green, and black color scheme. The faceplate is black with two green stripes forming an outline for the hourglass of the Galvan tech logo. When the faceplate is slid back, the Omnitrix's core is revealed.

Origin

For Kenny's tenth birthday, Ben created a duplicate Omnitrix and gave it to him in a similar, but smaller pod Ben found his in when he was ten. When he received it, Ken was eager to try out all of Ben's 10,000 aliens but was disappointed to find out that he had to start out with 10 like his father did in his young age.

Features

General

• Just like the original Omnitrix and the Ultimatrix, the Omnitrix mainly allows for the user to alter their DNA at will and transform into a numerous variety of alien species that are each with their own unique powers and abilities (along with their weaknesses) and in a selection of alien DNA that is in groups of 10.
  • Ben compares the feeling of transforming to a "good stretch".
• The Omnitrix has a quick-change feature that allows for the user to transform between alien forms while already transformed with or without touching the Omnitrix symbol. It also allows the user to transform back into normal when they are done using their transformation, causing it not to time out and allowing the user to transform again far quicker.
• The Omnitrix has a Master Control, which would most likely be installed upon Ben's 18th birthday.
• The Omnitrix can synchronize with another Omnitrix if activated at the same time.
  • It is because of this feature that the Omnitrix's counterpart from Dimension 23 has unlocked aliens that it did not have previously.
• The Omnitrix does not rely on the Codon Stream for transformation. Instead, the DNA is stored within itself in a computerized form.
• The Omnitrix can change the user's gender to adapt to another species.
• The Omnitrix has Call mode which is used to communicate with the user using the device.

Evolutionary Function

• The Ultimatrix had the ability to evolve aliens into their Ultimate Form, granting them more powerful abilities. This was activated by pressing the Ultimatrix symbol as an alien, causing four gray spikes to grow from the dial and the selected alien to transform (often stylized as green bands of light washing over them).

• The Evolutionary Function worked by placing the selected species in a simulation right down to the DNA, for an extended period of time (about a million years or so) in what is described as a "worst-case scenario"; the actual DNA is then simply modified to match the new DNA. This survival-of-the-fittest routine explains why the evolutions are more combat-centered than their normal forms.

• The Evolutionary Function drained the Ultimatrix's battery quicker than regular transformations.
• Almost any DNA can be put through the Evolutionary Function.

Extensions

• The Omnitrix has a 2-way communication system with Plumber Badges.
  • The Omnitrix can also record messages, similar to voicemail.
• The Omnitrix has the functionalities of a regular digital watch.
• The Omnitrix has a function were the user to stay transformed for an extended period of time without timing out. Ben only knows the lock code for Incursean DNA.
• The Omnitrix adapts the user's clothing to the alien they transform into.
• The Omnitrix has a built-in Universal Translator and could also translate other Earth languages.
• The Omnitrix has a distress signal function and homing device, as Azmuth was able to find and rescue Ben when was trapped inside the Incursean Exile Pod.
• The Omnitrix has a security lock system so that it can only be used by the user, as well as an alternate identification program if changes by outside forces occur to the user.
• The Omnitrix has a failsafe that kicks in the event that the user's life is in jeopardy. This feature turns them into the needed alien to survive.
• The Omnitrix has failsafes installed by Azmuth that prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from tampering with the device.
• The Omnitrix has the option of making its symbols disappear.
• With Skurd, he can duplicate the DNA of the Omnitrix's aliens and shapeshift their body parts into other's. He can also create armor out of an aliens DNA.

Clothing

• The Omnitrix usually provided clothes to the aliens that are based on what the user is wearing.

Allocation

• The Omnitrix symbol is positioned on different places for each alien whenever the user is transformed.

Active Mode is the Omnitrix's default mode when idle. It is where the user can select the transformation they want to become; initiate the process of transforming; and stay in said transformation. The actual usage time is 15 minutes at a time.

When the Omnitrix's usage time is fully depleted (i.e. "times out"), it goes into Recharge Mode: firstly warning of the timing out; then detransforming the user and locking all functions of Active Mode while the Omnitrix recharges.

The Omnitrix is capable of detecting when it's host is in any sort of life-threatening distress. Specifically, it can instantly recharge to protect the user from a direct physical threat. This was shown when Ben was instantly turned into

If the user is knocked out or hurt enough, the Omnitrix will revert them to their normal form.

Collect Mode is activated. However, if the Omnitrix is far away from the detected sample, the Omnitrix's other functions will be disabled until the alien is scanned.

When in alien form, the Omnitrix shoots out a green ray from the dial.

The Omnitrix has a self-destruction mode. In this mode, the Omnitrix will begin a countdown, beeping as a warning that the mode has been activated. It can be enabled if settings are changed and can be disabled if settings are changed again.

The Omnitrix has a randomizer function that works in one of two ways: either the user will continuously change between different aliens every few minutes before timing out, or they will turn into one random alien for an inconsistently short period of time before changing back.

Reset Mode can be activated by Voice Command or by pressing and holding the Omnitrix symbol as an alien for two seconds. During a resetting period, the Omnitrix deactivates, charges, and re-activates. This can also be Hard Reset using the Voice Command function.

Radiation Mode is activated when high levels of harmful radiation are detected. The Omnitrix will beep, and flash red. Radiation Mode can be turned off by turning the Omnitrix symbol to the quarter past position as an alien, or when radiation isn't detected anymore.
