The Omnimatrix, better known as Omnitrix, is a object of the A-B10's Saga. This watch-like device is a portable library of intergalactic genetic data that allows its wielder to alter their DNA at will and transform into a variety of different alien species, each with their own unique abilities and weaknesses.
Appearance[]
The Omnitrix looks like a slim and elegant watch, with a black, gray and white strap and with the dial that went back to being gray and green as with the prototype. The inside of the hourglass symbol shines in different colors at certain times - these colors indicate the mode the Omnitrix was currently in. When Ben selects his aliens, he displays a holographic, touch-screen wheel containing the faces of the species. Once the transformation is chosen, the face plate rises and reveals its core.
History[]
Background[]
According to Azmuth, he started working on this Omnitrix ever since his meet with Ben, who got the prototype during the events of SuperBen. He has spent approximately six years constructing it.
Ultimate Alien[]
The Omnitrix was first mentioned by Azmuth in La mappa dell'infinito. He was planning on giving it to Ben, but stated that it was not complete. He also mentioned that Ben's maturity needed to increase before he would be allowed to use it.
Ultimate princesses of Power Alien[]
At the end of "Mondi im-perfetti (Parte II)", the Omnitrix is seen in the Azmuth's laboratory on Galvan Prime. As he worked on it, Azmuth wondered if Ben would ever return and prove worthy of wielding it.
At the beginning of "Il Grande Horde", Azmuth mentioned at the Alien Force that the Omnitrix had yet to be finished.
In "Il segreto dell'Omnitrix", Ben chiede ad Azmuth dell'Omnitrix e Azmuth commenta che non sarà mai pronto senza l'Infinity. Tuttavia, dopo che lui e Ben hanno discusso sul fatto che quest'ultimo l'abbia rotto, Azmuth non è sicuro che funzionerà.
In "Decollo", Azmuth is seen working on the Omnitrix when Horde Prime's holo-message rumbles in the night. The Omnitrix is later completed and Azmuth gives it to Ben, as he deemed him worthy of wielding it, however the device blocks the ability to transform due to an "unknown error". Azmuth however comments that Ben will be able to find a way to solve the problem. Ben has been wearing this Omnitrix ever since.

General[]
- Just like the original Omnitrix and the Ultimatrix, the Omnitrix mainly allows for the user to alter their DNA at will and transform into a numerous variety of alien species that are each with their own unique powers and abilities (along with their weaknesses) and in a selection of alien DNA that is in groups of 10.
- Alien DNA is "injected" into the user, meaning they retain the wielder's personality, memories, and consciousness. Because of this, most of the aliens are not full-blown aliens, and rather hybrids with a small portion of the user's DNA. However, there are exceptions, such as the Ectonurite and Conductoid DNA.
- The Omnitrix has a holographic interface, where a holographic circle is shown, with the top half having alien faces, which is activated and scrolls through the aliens by the user touching the faceplate, or in other ways, scrolling up and down or scrolling in a circle, akin to a touch screen. The faceplate will then slide open automatically after Ben chooses his alien, after that, the Omnitrix's core will come out. When pressed, it will trigger the transformation.
- The Omnitrix has a DNA scanner.
- The Omnitrix has a quick-change feature that automatically transforms the user back to normal when they are done using their transformation, causing it not to time out and allowing the user to transform again far quicker.
- Manually touching the Omnitrix symbol not only can allow the user to immediately transform back into normal, but can also be used to transform into different alien forms while already transformed.
- The Omnitrix has a Master Control.
- The Omnitrix has a Randomizer Function that turns the user into a different amount of aliens at random moments, being randomly selective of the transformations.
- The Omnitrix can add extra features to alien forms in order to make them safer/more stable.
- The Omnitrix does not rely on the Codon Stream for transformation. Instead, the DNA is stored within itself in a computerized form.
- The Omnitrix can grant its user, as well as an alien form, the ability to speak another language fluently.
- The Omnitrix can change the user's gender to adapt to another species.
Evolutionary Function[]
- Like the original Ultimatrix, the Omnitrix has the ability to evolve aliens into their Ultimate Forms, granting them new powers and more powerful abilities. This was activated by pressing the Omnitrix symbol like an alien, growing four gray spikes.
- The Evolutionary Function works by placing the selected species in a simulation, down to the DNA, for a long period of time, about one million years or so, in what is described as a "worst case scenario"; the actual DNA is then simply modified to match the new DNA. This survival of the fittest routine explains why evolutions are more about combat than their normal forms.
- The Evolution Function drains the Omnitrix's battery faster than normal transformations.

- The Omnitrix has a 2-way communication system with Plumber Badges.
- The Omnitrix can also record messages, similar to voicemail.
- The Omnitrix has the functionalities of a regular digital watch.
- The Omnitrix adapts the user's clothing to the alien they transform into.

- The Omnitrix has failsafes installed by Azmuth that prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from tampering with the device.

Malfunctions[]
- If the Omnitrix does mistransform, it is because of the user slamming on the Omnitrix's core and (inadvertently) the scroll pad.
- Other reasons for mistransfoming include not perfecting either the preload or proper pressure application and misreading the display. Overall, incorrect transformations are caused by the user's general sloppiness.
- Slamming the core also affects the time limit of a transformation, as the user could stay transformed for hours.
- When switching between aliens, the user could be manipulating the controls. Transforming into another alien without changing back does not always work and is bad for the Omnitrix.
- Much like the original Ultimatrix, the Omnitrix is not hack proof.
- Much like the prototype Omnitrix, this Omnitrix does not have a failsafe against magic.
Modes[]
Active mode is the Omnitrix default mode. The actual usage time is 10/15 minutes at a time. If he switches from one form to another, the combined time for changes cannot be more than 10/15 minutes, possibly less due to current leakage. Multiple transformations and ultimate forms consume a lot of power and deplete the clock's power faster than single transforms. Three or four transformations would leave him with substantially less than 10/15 minutes combined. The Omnitrix appears to expire sooner if it is challenged by activities with many movements, such as fighting. However, if normal transformations are tampered with, the user cannot always go back.
When the Omnitrix expires, it enters charging mode. Charging takes about 5 minutes, even longer if tampered with, but it can happen instantly if the user's life is endangered by a direct physical threat. If the user is knocked out or wounded enough, the Omnitrix will restore him to his normal form. In all of this, the primary purpose of the charging mode is to prevent alien DNA from permanently attaching itself to its host.
When a new DNA sample has been unlocked from the Codon Stream, or when the Omnitrix captures new DNA not present in the Codon Stream, Capture Mode is activated. It can also reclaim lost or removed alien DNA that was in the Codon Stream. It scans to match the species, then moves the identified species to the active playlist. If it's seen the species before, it does it passively, without Ben actively scanning. However, if the Omnitrix is far away from the detected sample, the Omnitrix's other functions will be disabled until the alien is scanned.
In Self-Destruct Mode, the Omnitrix charges energy while counting down until it explodes. S.D.M. functions as a last resort should the Omnitrix fall into the wrong hands. It can be activated by Voice Command. When in S.D.M. for a few days, the Omnitrix can charge enough energy to cause an energy ripple that will destroy the entire universe. While in S.D.M., the Omnitrix can send out energy bursts capable of throwing the user through the air. When the S.D.M. is activated, the Omnitrix sends out a signal that any ship can pick up (unless it was activated by Voice Command).
The Omnitrix has a randomizer function that works in one of two ways: either the user will continuously change between different aliens every few minutes before timing out, or they will turn into one random alien for an inconsistently short period of time before changing back.
Allows the user to stay transformed for an extended period of time without a time-out. It is dangerous to use often.
The Master Control is a program allows unlimited access to all of the Omnitrix's functions like access to all aliens in the watch and also, instant changes and no time limit unless all available power is used up.
If the Omnitrix has full access to Infinity, the code will turn into the Bracelet of Infinity. Throughout Ultimate Princesses of Power Alien, it allowed the user to use the Master Control without the creator's permission and access the Ultimate Forms by skipping the primary alien form. From the Azmuth correction, the following modality allows only the second case.

Trivia[]
- Omnitrix has characteristics that unite it to the four canonical versions: the colors of the Original Omnitrix of Ben 10, the style of the Recalibrated Omnitrix of Alien Force, the evolutionary function of the Ultimatrix of Ultimate Alien and the characteristics of the Omnitrix of Omniverse.
- The Galvan were the first species added to the Omnitrix. However, Grey Matter's DNA sample came from neither Azmuth nor Albedo.
- In addition to the ones listed above, the Omnitrix has hundreds of other features Ben does not know about. For example, he does not know how to access the settings that changes the user's gender to adapt to another species or make the Omnitrix's symbols disappear.
- Ben is unaware that the Omnitrix contains interdimensional white lab mouse DNA.
- The Omnitrix also contains dolphin DNA.
- There were technical glitches in the original Omnitrix and Ultimatrix that limited the positioning of the symbol during transformations that caused interferences such as unclothed appearances. Azmuth reformatted and corrected these errors in the current Omnitrix.
- The Omnitrix is always receiving software updates from Galvan Prime.
- The Omnitrix is unable to scan and accept the DNA of certain beings and species including the Ultimate Forms, cybernetically-enhanced beings, mutants, living spaceships depicted as commonplace objects, and non-sapient races that do not have as much sentience as Muroids.
- It neither contains nor accepts DNA from species such as Slimebiotes and Contumelia because neither of them have genetic material equivalent enough to traditional DNA that can be stored.
- The Omnitrix is unable to accommodate the DNA of magical creatures such as Stone Creatures and other inhabitants of Ledgerdomain or Etheria because magic is not compatible with the science of the Omnitrix.
- Azmuth can lock the Omnitrix in person and remotely.
- The Omnitrix aliens are both prime specimens and optimized adults of their respective species.
- In Command Code: 1985 - Grayskull, the number refers to the year of the airing of the original She-Ra: Princess of Power.
- The alien forms of Razor Kat and Scorpattack are based on those designed by Alex from Hero Central.
- Azmuth retained the Ultimate Forms due to Albedo being on the loose during Ultimate Princesses of Power Alien.
