Plot[]
[The camera fades into an auto body shop as various tools can be heard in use. Chatter was amongst the crowd of workers each, dirty with oil and dirt from the cars they were working on. On the wall is an employee of the month wall, with January being the Vreedle brothers.The camera moves in to focus on the manager of the shop as he is at his desk typing away reports on his computer. There is a knock at his door as he signals for them to come in.]
Worker: Before I go, I wanted to let you know that a package is here for ya, boss.
Boss: Thank you, Cline.
[He gets up from his desk walking to the entrance of the shop as he is handed a package with the Billions logo on it. He takes the box back to his office as he sets it down, opening it. Inside is a lone purple microchip. He looks at it with glee as he takes it out holding it to the light.]
Boss: Finally, it’s here! I can finally finish the engine AI.
[The boss walks out of his office and hurries over to his workstation where he places down the chip as he finishes building a cylindrical device before inserting the microchip. The device whirls to life as a purple head pops up above it.]
Boss: Holy shit! It worked! It’s alive!
OTTO: Hello, I am Omni-Transmotor Tool-Observer or OTTO for short. How may I assist you?
[The boss smiles at his creation before walking over to a modded out car, he places OTTO inside of it.]
Boss: OTTO do you think you can connect to this car for me?
OTTO: Why certainly
[OTTO connects to the car, but when he does his purple head appears on the dashboard before glitching red then back to normal. The boss gets in the driver’s seat before opening the garage remotely.]
Boss: Ready? We are going on a little test run.
[The car slowly drives out onto the streets as it picks up speed. The driver smiles as the dashboard turns red again as it accelerates even further before ejecting the driver into a wall, killing him upon impact. The car laughs as it flashes purple and drives off as the scene fades to black.]
-Theme Song-
[Dalton and Angel make their way to The Crescent as they meet up with the other members of DAFDIL. Felicity was sitting with a booklet open reading it vigorously. Angel looked confused by this and asked what was up.]
Iris: She is studying for her Behind the Wheel Test.
Angel: Oh that thing? Don’t sweat it. I passed that without even studying.
Felicity: Yeah, because I am just like you when it comes to tests. Being able to ace them without studying.
Angel: Why are you so aggressive all of a sudden?
Dani: Do you just not listen when we talk? Felicity is like crazy mean when it comes to studying and like crazy intense about it. Her parents instilled it in her to study and get good grades.
Angel: Aren’t you a history major? What is there to even study? Remembering dates and names? Big deal.
Felicity: Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat the same mistakes, Angel. Now kindly shut up.
[Angel and Dalton finally sit down after grabbing some food. They are quietly scrolling on the phones allowing Felicity to study. Iris was leaning on Dalton’s shoulders as Angel looked intrigued by something on his phone. This catches the attention of Dani who looked up from her phone momentarily.]
Dani: What’s up on your phone? Anything good or exciting?
Angel: Nothing really. Just some car accidents, where they say that one of the drivers is just gone. Seems to have started with this one car that shot it’s driver out as he hit a wall. It killed him, but no one knows where the car is. The police think it's carjacking that got dirty.
Dalton: This just sounds like it’s going to be the mission of the week, right?
Angel: I mean, you aren’t wrong there’s always something weird going on here.
[The gang laughs at the unfortunate truth. They continue sitting together before one by one left for classes and work, leaving Felicity there to study as the scene transitioned to the open roads of the downtown area of Paradise Valley. A car was seen zooming through the streets as sirens were heard before cop cars came up behind the car. Struggling to keep up with the car, both cop cars crash as the car continues to drive off heading towards Paradise University. As the scene transitions to Felicity waiting on the curb as a student driver car pulls up to her. A middle-aged white man who was partially balding got out of the car.]
Mr.Webb: Ms.Hawthorne?
Felicity: That’s me!
Mr.Webb: I am Mr.Webb, I will be your driving instructor for the next week or so.
[She excitedly hurried over to the car as Mr.Webb opened the driver side door for her. She gets in buckling her seat belt and adjusting all her mirrors, as Mr.Webb gets into the passenger seat. She does her routine check of her car, as Mr.Webb opens the glove box, getting out a clipboard and pencil from it.]
Mr.Webb: You may begin driving, when you are ready.
[Felicity eases the car away from the curb as she begins driving down the road towards town.As she drives she is nearly hit by a car as she dodges out of the way with fear. Mr.Webb jots something down on his clipboard.]
Felicity: What the fuck was that?
Mr.Webb: No worries for us now. Just keep driving.
[Felicity does so as the camera shifts to focus on the car that had nearly hit her. It turns out to be the stolen car that OTTO is operating. It speeds towards the campus before crashing into a building. It causes the building to shake as students rush out of it. Upon the students is Dalton who looks at the crash walking over to it. Before he can get to the driver, the car drives off again. Dalton gives chases in human form, but fails to keep up. He looks around as he notices a spot to transform. He does so slamming down the core of his watch being eaten in a green flash of light.]
{Cannonbolt Transformation: Dalton’s left arms starts to inflate followed by the rest of his body as he becomes more round. The camera shoots to his back as he dawns a shell covering. Coming back to his front side, his face lowers to his body as the Omnitrix appears resting on his forehead.}
[Cannonbolt comes rushing out of the hiding spot as he slowly catches up with the speeding automobile. The chase goes through most of Paradise University Campus. They stop in the football field as Cannonbolt uncurls to be staring down the car on the other side of the field. He glares at it as he scrapes his foot in the grass like a horse readying for a race.]
Cannonbolt: I hope you have car insurance, dude.
[Cannonbolt curls back up as he charges for the car. The car sputters the dirt off the field before taking off with acceleration and velocity. Right before the two objects come to a collision, the car veers to the left before stopping completely. This confuses Cannonbolt who heads for the car unballing.He gets to the driver’s seat looking in as the engine dies out. He sees no one and is weirded out by the ghost driving car. Before he can make a comment about it, he is suddenly hit by a different car as it sends him flying for the dining hall. Cannonbolt puts a hole in the wall before changing back into Dalton in a red flash of light before passing out. When he comes to he is inside Codon’s ship as he looks around in a panic.]
Xylene: Relax, Iris and Angel found you first and brought you here before anyone could see.
[Dalton got up from the hospital bed going into the main room to see Codon, Iris, and Angel. He notices the missing three members of his team.]
Dalton: Where are the other three?
Iris: Felicity is at her behind the wheel training, remember?
Angel: Both Dani and Lily are in class when this happened and will get here when they can.
Dalton: Something doesn’t add up about these car accidents.
Angel: What do you mean?
Dalton:Those ones we read about at lunch the other day. It seems that is going to be the mission of the week. When that car hit the Engineering Lecture Hall, I chased after it to the football field, only when I was able to get in close, there was no driver there. Then, I was hit by another driverless car as I hit The Crescent.
[Albedo goes over to the monitor as he starts to type away, pulling up the footage from the fight Cannonbolt head a little while ago. He slows down the footage and pauses a bit before Cannonbolt is hit by the second car. On screen you can see a purple ball of electricity coming out of the first car. Albedo points to it before turning to Dalton and the rest of the group.]
Albedo: You see this purple ball of energy? Right before Dalton is hit, it leaves the first car and enters the second.
Dalton: Meaning what exactly?
Albedo: Meaning that the car itself isn’t the issue, but the artificial intelligence controlling the car. Which is why you don’t see a driver when you were battling it.
Dalton: Oh so all we have to do is catch a ball of energy, totally doable. Except it isn’t.
Albedo: Why must you always think negatively? If you can leave the AI without a host of an extended amount of time, there may be a chance that it dies out.
Dalton: May die out? How sure are you on this?
Tetrax: Don’t doubt Albedo, especially when it’s the only lead we have at the moment.
Dalton: Right, sorry Albedo.
Angel: So how the hell are we supposed to get this car to show up?
Albedo: Looking at the attack patterns of the AI, it seems to have been targeting the school and without a doubt Dalton and the rest of you.
[Dalton, Iris, and Angel looked at Albedo with shocked expressions.]
Angel: How do you know that?
Albedo: Looking at the data we have from this AI it’s build signature is fairly similar to that of one Mr.Billy Billions.
Dalton: Please tell me you are kidding.
Albedo: I am afraid not. This has his smell all over it.
Angel: So I guess we just wait for it to come to us.
Dalton: Terrific slowly waiting to get killed by a self-driving car. Sounds like the plot of a shitty horror movie.
[The scene transitions to DAFDIL back inside Dalton and Angel’s dorm as Felicity walks inside seeing everyone.]
Felicity: Did something happen while I was out driving?
Dalton: Yeah, we’ve been told not to leave campus until the issue has been resolved.
Felicity: By who? Codon or the campus?
Iris: Codon. To make a long story there is a self-driving car AI thing out to kill us for Billy Billions.
Felicity: What the fuck. I have a behind the wheel test tomorrow. I can’t believe I have to miss it because of some freaky shit.
Angel: I- We don’t like it any more than you do. Like I said at the start of the week. There is always some weird shit that happens here every week after I met Dalton.
Dalton: Listen, if I could make it stop I would. I don’t like dealing with this any more than the rest of you. Shit gets annoying after a while.
[The scene transitions to the next day inside Iris and Felicity’s dorm room. Felicity is seen getting ready as Iris is asleep in her bed. Felicity quietly leaves the room, shutting the door gently as she makes her way outside where Mr.Webb is waiting for her.]
Mr.Webb: Are you all set to take your test, Ms.Hawthorne?
Felicity: Yes I am. I am confident that I will pass this test.
[The scene goes back to the dorm room as Iris wakes up to see no Felicity. Iris panics as she gets out her phone to alert the rest of DAFDIL. After Fifteen minutes, the rest of the group shows up as they walk around the room trying to think.]
Dani: You are sure she went to take her driver’s test?
Iris: Yeah, it was scheduled for today. What are we going to do?
Dalton: Nothing for now. If we go out looking for her, it makes her a bigger target for the AI. So for now, we stay put and only go out if she calls us when she is in danger.
[The group nods as the scene cuts back to Felicity driving the car for her test. She is doing well when they see a car zip by nearly hitting them.]
Felicity: That wasn’t me right? They nearly hit us on purpose?
Mr.Webb: You would be correct.
[Felicity keeps driving only to get rammed into from behind. She looks in her rearview mirrors to see OTTO. Her face drops as she pulls out her phone while driving.]
Felicity: Shit. I know this is against the rules, but it might just save our lives, Mr.Webb.
[Felicity presses an app on her phone as it sends a signal back to DAFDIL’s phones and the Omnitrix. The scene changes back to the dorm room as the group were sitting and waiting when they received the distress signal. Dalton gets up from his seat as he starts to dial up an alien.]
Angel: How do you expect to get to her quickly?
Dalton: Not sure, but I’ll make it work.
[Dalton makes his way outside finding a hiding place to transform before slamming the core down on the Omnitrix as a green flash covers the screen.]
{Lodestar Transformation: Brown rocks start to surround Dalton’s body, soon completely covering him. The ball of rock morphs into a curved top rectangle with no limbs or head. Legs and arms start to grow out of the rock before teaching floating in place. A metal head with a bright yellow crest pops out floating as metal growths appear on his arms and legs. The Omnitrix appears on his chest.}
[Lodestar magnetizes a pothole near him as he uses it to fly through the air to track down Felicity. Lodestar arrives to see OTTO chasing down Felicity. Lodestar holds out his hands keeping OTTO in place, allowing Felicity to drive off.]
Mr.Webb: Ms.Hawthorne, what in The Great Barrier Reef was that?
Felicity: I am not sure, Mr.Webb. Thankfully, one of those aliens saved us.
[They drive off leaving OTTO stuck in place as Lodestar jumps down off of his pothole.]
Lodestar: This is between you and me, you Decepticon reject.
OTTO: I couldn’t agree more.
[Lodestar lets go of his pull causing OTTO to drive off before turning around to face him. OTTO reeves his engine as smog comes out of his exhaust pipe. Lodestar readied his arms to defend himself for the incoming charge. OTTO honked his horn twice before charging at Lodestar. Lodestar tries to magnetize OTTO to a stop but fails. OTTO runs him over as his head merges out of the car to hit Lodestar’s head, before reemerging with the car on the other side.Lodestar’s body flies into the air before landing on the ground with a hard thud. His head is still spinning in place, before he stops it. Lodestar sends out a stronger magnetic pulse from his chest as it aims for OTTO. The magnetic blasts connect to the car tearing it up. OTTO tries to ram into Lodestar again, but the car falls apart before making contact. The purple energy shoots out of the car and charges at Lodestar phasing through him, pushing him to the ground. Lodestar gets up looking for OTTO, but fails to locate him. Police sirens can be heard as Lodestar grabs his pothole before taking off on it again. The police arrive as they look over the wreckage.]
Police Officer 1: Another nasty car wreck.
Police Office 2: Really? Damn, that’s the tenth one this week alone.
[The scene transitions to The Crescent where DAFDIL, minus Felicity, are all sitting together at a table talking. Felicity walks up to the table slamming her license onto the table proudly.]
Angel: You were able to get it? Nice job, Felicity.
Dalton: Even with OTTO attacking? How did you even begin to explain that to the driving instructor?
Felicity: I didn’t have to. Mr.Webb didn’t think of it as anything other than random. Even said I handled the situation well which is why I passed.
[Felicity sits down on the edge of the table as she slides her license back into her pocket.]
Lily: As well that ends weird, as usual.
[The scene slowly fades to black amongst their chatter.]
