The Morph Drive is the transformation device used in The Tale of Rumin.
History[]
The Djinn have observed different universes and timelines throughout history, and, in many cases, there has been a self-proclaimed or chosen hero wielding a transformation device and maintaining peace. The Morph Drive was created by the Djinn after witnessing the increase of destruction and violence.
Rumin was summoned by the Djinn into their Realm and chosen as the hero who would end the chaos. To aid in completing that goal, he was given the Morph Drive.
The Djinn cannot travel freely in the mortal realm unless they are bound to a certain object. As such, to assist Rumin on his journey, Zahart, a Djinn who has been watching over the Ferran people, binds himself to the Morph Drive. However, as stated in the pilot episode, his power will only be available to Rumin in moments of great peril.
Appearance[]
The Morph Drive has an oval/ellipse-like shape with pointed ends. It is primarily grey in color. An extruded section in the center of the device houses slots for the three confinement tubes and the device's core.
Features & Functionality[]
The Morph Drive works in conjunction with special tubes known as Confinement Tubes.
It only has access to three transformations at any given time, as only three tubes can be slotted into its core. This allows the user to alternate between the three forms at will.
To access other forms, the user must manually switch out the tubes from the Morph Drive, and considering the device is located at the base of his neck, the Morph Drive is very impractical in that manner.
Confinement Tubes can capture the physical essence of other sapient species and store them. A total of eight tubes are slotted into white, bandolier-like pockets strapped to the user's chest.
The tubes are all initially empty when the user first receives them. It is up to the user to obtain transformations from other sapient lifeforms he encounters as he sees fit.
Once the cap of 8 tubes has been reached, a new transformation can only be obtained by overwriting an old one.
Unlike other transformation matrices, the Morph Drive doesn't have a recharge or timeout period. However, if the user sustains a great amount of damage, the Morph Drive will forcibly revert the transformation.
