Plot[]
In an apartment, a scientist is shown working on a device using scrap metal and kitchen cutlery. As he empowers it, the device releases a small discharge of energy, striking a pigeon outside the apartment. Impressed by the results, the scientists prepares to perfect the device, and proudly boasts his name -Dr. Aloysios Animo- and seeks to make it known, laughing over a newspaper with Powerpipe of the cover page.
At The Fictioverse, Ben and Stuart finish working on a few pages of their comic, and proudly congratulate each other. While Stuart suggests they should celebrate, Ben suggests getting Stuart a new car using the Omnitrix. Stuart is against this, but agrees with Ben's statement on getting himself a new car. While Ben and Stuart leave the store, the duo see Dr. Animo walking on the street, watching him wear strange device Ben believes to be a costume. As the two wonder about Animo, the two hear a loud screech, and a mutant pigeon is shown flying around Bellwood.
Hiding in an alleyway, Ben begins activating the Omnitrix while Stuart prepares his cameras. Ben transforms into Grapplight and launches himself at the mutant pigeon, trying to hold it down. This fails and Grapplight is thrown onto the street, where Grapplight sees Dr. Animo enter an alleyway, yet the pigeon attacks Grapplight again. The latter spits a globule at the mutant pigeon, but the pigeon's movements make it difficult to aim, and is once again thrown down, this time into a warehouse filled with seeds. Using this opportunity, Grapplight spits a globule covered in birdseed, attracting the attention of the mutant pigeon. Attempting to feed, it gets its beak stuck in the globule, enabling Grapplight to swing around it and tie it down. Happy at his success, Grapplight happily looks at the crowd formed, where a small kid cries at Grapplight's appearance.
While Grapplight is slightly offended, a large roar is heard, and a mutant dog emerges from an alley, making its way to a defenseless Stuart. Fortunately, Grapplight manages to swing by and save Stuart mere seconds before the dog makes contact, but in the sky, the Omnitrix times out, causing Ben and Stuart to land into a mountain of seeds. After escaping, Ben stated that he saw Dr. Animo entering the same alley the mutant dog escaped from, prompting Stuart to have his cameras search for Dr. Animo, as he believes this couldn't be a coincidence. Seconds later, a camera catches Dr. Animo entering a lab, with the same mutant dog following him. Knowing the lab isn't far, the duo rush to Animo, due too the lack of a car and the Omnitrix timed out.
During the journey, Ben explains his experience with Grapplight and the child to Stuart, claiming that he's worried his aliens would scare people more than helping them. Stuart reassures him that it's Ben's inside that counts, as Ben will always be the same regardless of what alien he is. Arriving at the lab, the duo were nearly hit by two scientists being thrown out of the lab. As they help the scientists up, Dr. Animo emerges with the mutant dog behind him, showing of his superiority to everyone present as he holds his completed device up high. Activating the device, all the civilians begin running, only for the device to strike out large red bolts of electricity striking everyone present, including Ben and Stuart, knocking them out. When they reawaken, Ben realises Animo had escaped, and all the humans who were struck by the bolts had become disfigured and slightly mutated, including himself.
Looking at the mirror, Ben sees his hands on his forehead and his mouth on his shoulder. Stuart then reawakens, with 6 eyes all over his head and a more plump body, and the two look at each other in shock. Concluding that Animo's device is the source of their mutations, Ben decides to chase after him, though he struggles with the Omnitrix due to its placement in his forehead. With Stuart's help, Ben turns into a slightly misshapen Powerpipe and attempts to chase after Animo, yet falls several times due to his body's unusual physique. Despite his constant struggle, Powerpipe manages to find Animo and his dog at a pet store, where the former begins mutating all the animals inside and incapacitating the humans. Despite Powerpipe attempting to intervene, his condition allows the mutant dog to swat him away easily. Powerpipe turns back into Ben with his appearance still jumbled.
As Animo and his army marches on, Stuart arrives covered in trash, stating that a lot of people ran from him. Upon hearing this, Ben became somewhat pessimistic, but Stuart reassures him that everything would be okay. Helping Ben scroll through the Omnitrix, the two decide which alien is the best for the situation, until Stuart finds one alien in Ben's current playlist he had never seen yet. Deciding to risk it, Ben transforms into it, becoming a shark-like alien, Hammerhack. His appearance is still distorted, but Hammerhack observes the surroundings before finding the Omnitrix on him, getting an idea. He asks Stuart to turn the Omnitrix dial and press it, turning Hammerhack back into Ben.
Ben explains that Hammerhack discovered the Omnitrix has a feature that can turn the user back in a shorter amount of time, saving the battery and enabling Ben to use a different alien, impressing Stuart. He then explains that since Hammerhack remembered all his alien's current capabilities, he got an idea and asks Stuart to help him turn into Anatacles, which he does. Using his shapeshifting powers, Anatacles turns back into his normal self, enabling him to fight again. Animo and his mutants are shown attacking the nearby Zoo, where he is then intercepted by a whiplash from one of Anatacles tentacles. Preparing his army to attack, Anatacles roars while whipping his tentacles, scaring the mutants into running away. Animo looks at his fleeing army calling them cowards, before getting ensnared by Anatacles' tentacles.
Anatacles demands Animo to disable his device, yet the latter claims he couldn't even if he wanted to. This prompts Anatacles to prove him wrong, and removes the device from Animo before handing him over to the nearby police. Anatacles takes the machine and discreetly jumps to Stuart's location, where he immediately turns back to Ben with his normal physique restored and subsequently transforms into Hammerhack again, annoying him as he wanted Transmelt. Despite the mistransformation, Hammerhack uses his intelligence to rework the device, causing it to release a large pulse over Bellwood, turning every human and animal affected by it back to normal.
The next day, Ben and Stuart begin releasing their own comic books, dubbed "The Ten", at the Fictioverse. Their comics became increasingly popular, and while Ben signs autographs, he overhears the same kid who he encountered the day before calling Grapplight his favourite. This makes Ben gladly smile, while Stuart simply says "Told ya", before the two pose for a photo.
