Wikitext Issues
Hey, thanks for reading! Copy-pasting directly from Word leads to weird formatting errors in the editor, so I use a custom script to convert Word's styling to Wikitext! Sometimes this doesn't come out perfectly and Visual Editor bugs cause lines to disappear, so if you see text that seems out of place, or is unformatted or not formatted properly, please give me a heads-up! <3 Enjoy

Part I[]

[The following won't make any sense to those of you who haven't read the last few episodes. You might want to go back and read Escalation to get into where we are. For those who’ve kept up, I thank you. You know who you are. Back to the show.]

[Twenty years ago, in the Mother System:

Bzzzzzt. A cry of pain.

A bag is pulled off our head, revealing a grand throne room in purples, pinks and black.

From this perspective, we look down to see a lanky, green-patterned Mechamorph body with cuffs around our hands. And to our left, a Uxorite one is still covered by a bag.

Looking straight ahead, there is a grand staircase. Atop it sits the throne. And sat lackadaisically on that is the caped, crowned Grand Ruler of the Mother System – a Mechamorph, with purple patterns along his body.]

Purple-Patterned Grand Ruler (with fake nails, gesturing the shackled Mechamorph)
Come here, Malley.

Malevolence, green-patterned, feels a light electric prod in his back. Turning around, the burly mercenary that had captured him stands, a helmet pulled off to reveal his pill-esque, gray head. He grins as he shocks Malevolence once more.

Grand Ruler Merc 38A
Go.
Malevolence
Why me?

The mercenary walks over to the Uxorite, shoving the agent standing behind them. Rather than prodding the alien, the formidable agent smacks them with the side of the weapon. She spits inside of their bag, with the agent returning to Malevolence to shock him once more.

Grand Ruler Merc 38A (to Malevolence)
Now, go. I heard these pulses particularly hurt techno people like yous.

Ascending the stairs, this young Malevolence drops to his knees before the ruler of the System.

Grand Ruler
So, kid, I've got a proposition for you. I can either kill both of you, or just your friend if you help me out.
Malevolence
I'll never help you.
Grand Ruler
Excellent. Butch!

At the base of the stairs, the burly guard that toyed with Malevolence laughs as he prepares his weapon.

Malevolence
Wait.

The Grand Ruler raises a halting hand, to a scoffing Butch’s dismay.

Grand Ruler
Yeah, I thought so. You and that one down there have been lifelong friends haven’t you?
Malevolence
Partners, yes. You should know you can't go it alone and make it in this cesspit.
Grand Ruler
I don't know; I'm doing pretty well for me, myself and I.
Malevolence
How many guards do you have by the way?
Grand Ruler
Oh, see, you mistake my servants for – what was it you called her?- “partners.” No, I have total control over them. If they defy me, it'll be the last thing they do.
Malevolence
What, because of our oculus?
Grand Ruler
Where'd you learn that word? That's a home world term.
Malevolence
I grew up on the home world, before they realized my defect.
Grand Ruler
So they shipped you here, like they do with all of us. Let me guess the issue…

He bends and reshapes his body as he lands on the floor before Malevolence.

He observes every aspect of his green patterns, until he reaches one zone on his forearm where the green is a powerless deep green.

Malevolence
One disabled coil.
Grand Ruler
And that’s all it takes. We’re not allowed to be anything other than playthings for the Galvan, and we’re not “alive” so the Plumbers won’t accept us. So they ship the bad batches here, because they’re not going to just imprison us on Incarcecon for being part of a bad batch. It’s why – if you ever make it out of this place alive – the only members of our kind that aren’t on the home world will be just like you. They’ll be thieves, cheap con artists, that grew up here.
Malevolence
I take it you were the same?
Grand Ruler
Oh, not at all.

He extends his body and jumps back into his throne.

Grand Ruler
I craved violence. The Galvan didn't like that either. But you seem like a good one. So tell me – where’d Vanescent hide my stash?

Malevolence watches him begin flipping a carefully crafted tayden coin in his hand.

Grand Ruler
I'll make it worth your while.

[The UN Headquarters in New York City: Mercedes’s Brawnoceros and Frisbit work together to move people from the collapsing building up to the Rustbucket III.

On the ground floor, Frisbit attempts to slide rubble apart. The body of the man who shouted in agreement with the President’s wishes, as well as one of the President’s Secret Servicemen, are trapped under some rubble. Frisbit, sensing the weight on his disc up above, knows that he can’t revert without dropping the bodies being transported by his other half. So, he tries to push. The Secret Service agent and the crushed ambassador reach out their hands, and that one sign of life is enough to push Frisbit to dig in his heels.

It begins to move. When he looks to his side, though, it’s Mercedes’s Brawnoceros to the rescue. After the rocks are pushed, Mercedes picks up the two bodies and throws them over her shoulders. The ambassador taps for her to stop moving for a moment as they pass Frisbit.]

Ambassador 38A (breathless)
Boy…
Frisbit (terse)
What?
Ambassador 38A
We… banned…
Frisbit
You wanna rub it in my face? Now?
Ambassador 38A
Why… do you… do it?
Frisbit
Why do I do what?
Ambassador 38A
Why… help us…?

Frisbit pulls back and stares to Mercedes – her newfound heterochromia standing out here as the golden eye shimmers.

The tech boy wonder takes in the air and looks to the sky. From down here, the hole in the roof peers out into the skies where a bevy of spacecraft can be seen breaking the atmosphere.

Frisbit
All those ships are people who have to leave because of the choice you all made here today.

He turns to the ambassador.

Frisbit
But we’re not leaving. We’re staying right here.
Ambassador 38A
Why…?

He peers back at Mercedes.

Frisbit
Because we’re heroes, as in we do right by others; they don’t have to do right by us.
Ambassador 38A (passing out)
Heroes…

Frisbit’s Omnitrix badge beeps.

Plumber 38A
Calling all units: The Null Void Incarcecon is being overrun by a riot. Be warned: among others, Malevolence and Vilgax are on the move in the prison.
Frisbit
Now’s not the time…

Frisbit looks over to Gwen and Kevin, who are clutching their heads and arm in arm.

Frisbit (to Mercedes)
I need you to finish up with this.
Mercedes Brawnoceros
I’m just helping you. I’m no hero.
Frisbit
If you could act like a villain for a few months, you can act like a hero for a day. You’re going to need to if you’re gonna keep that watch.

He transforms into Streak and slices open a portal.

Streak
Oh, and don’t let Kevin fly in his condition.
Mercedes Brawnoceros
How will I stop him?
Streak
What happened to the Mercedes that was kicking my butt? You got this.
Mercedes Brawnoceros
I kick butt, not win an argument.
Streak
Oh, please, you got this.

He reaches into the portal and yanks out his Mechamorph spawn, Ken, who was at his home in Bellwood.

Streak
Ken, Mercedes. Mercedes, Ken. Mercedes, show Ken to the Rustbucket; he’ll fly everyone back.

Streak closes his rift then slices open another one.

Streak
I’ll be back.
Mercedes Brawnoceros
You shouldn’t go it alone.
Streak
Villains don’t stop for us.

He leaps in the rift, and it shuts behind him. Ken and Mercedes’s Brawnoceros remain. Ken looks around at the devastation in the room.

Ken
Shall I get the broom?

[Null Void Incarcecon, Cell Block V: Every cell is empty. The main floor of Cell Block V is littered with the bodies of slain Barons.

A chromium baton scratches along the neon tiles. Alarms are blaring.]

Voice 38A (baton wielder, snide)
I knew it would come to this, Your Majesty.

The baton expands at the head, revealing an electric core. A second one can now be heard scratching the floor as well. Panning up, they’re both attached at the hilt to the Warden’s wrists.

Voice 38B (robotic)
Of course, you did.

Across from the Warden stands Malevolence.

Warden/Voice 38A
I did. I’ve read about you.

Next to Malevolence stands Vilgax, armorclad.

Warden
Both of you. Knowing, I feel, helps me understand my prisoners better. For you two, it helped me to know that final wouldn’t be good enough. No, I have to do it personally.
Malevolence/Voice 38B (snide)
I’d be touched if my people had hearts.
Warden
Oh, you can say that again. Hey, tell me…

The tips of his batons, electrified, expand once more to reveal spokes for grabbing his targets.

Warden
What was it like when you sold out your best friend out for the throne?

Malevolence’s V-shaped, irate eye gapes. And for a moment, he’s sucked back two decades into the past. In that moment of shock, the Warden leaps at the two with his electric, grappling batons.

Malevolence
I appreciate your attention to the finer details.

Vilgax swings at the warden, who was entirely focused on Malevolence. The warden, however, pushes a button that causes a jetpack on his back to activate a quick horizontal boost, barreling to his left and exploiting Vilgax’s heavy swing to jab an electrified baton into the squid king’s legs. As Vilgax drops to one knee, the warden goes in for another swing, but Vilgax’s eyes glow red. Lasers shoot out of them. The warden barrels again in the other direction, but the beam follows and zaps the warden’s boosters, throwing him out of the air. Sliding to a halt, he lands perfectly.

Warden (to Vilgax)
He’s going to do the same to you, genius. Throw you out to sea once he’s done with you.

Vilgax draws an axe from his back and holds it right up to Malevolence’s eye.

Vilgax (to Warden)
I think you misunderstand the relationship we hold.
Malevolence (unperturbed by the sharpened, bloodied weapon)
Yes…

Malevolence’s face contorts and reshapes to be more bulbous. Instead of one central eye, his face now focuses on a wide grin.

Malevolence (laughing, voice twisted)
Tell ‘em, Vilgax.
Vilgax
I trust this inorganic life form only as far as I can throw him. If he sold out his best friend for power, then know that I’d do the very same – whether they were my spawn or a stranger.
Malevolence (to Warden)
We’re one and the same.

The warden feels a cold breeze overwhelm him. He looks to find Cyanne having frozen his legs to the floor by passing intangibly through them. The same then happens to his arms, frozen in place with batons at the ready.

Vilgax
We’re after the same thing, though. And soon we will have it.
Warden (trying to shake his body out of the ice)
Ben Tennyson will be here soon.

Malevolence’s head shakes and transforms again, reprising his eye along with his normal voice.

Malevolence (pushing Vilgax’s axe down and approaching Warden)
Let him come. By then, there will be nothing here. Not even you.

Vilgax again fires his beam. Afterwards, the warden of NVI collapses, his Plumber’s badge falling a few feet away. Malevolence picks it up and absorbs it into him, the badge’s hourglass face taking on a sickly version of Mechamorph patterns.

He taps the badge to send a message.

Malevolence
Ben Tennyson-

Malevolence stops. He looks around.

Malevolence
Did you hear that?
Vilgax (holding up his axe, Cyanne and Grantgrant joining their side)
What?

Malevolence squints.

Malevolence (voice echoing nearby)
Ben-
Vilgax
He’s here-

Dink!

The technorganic marvel that is Frisbit’s disc bounces off of Vilgax’s head, quickly disorienting him. It’s recalled with a purpose, not returning to Ben in the shadows but instead latching onto Cyanne. A quick zap temporarily disables the Necrofriggian’s powers.

Frisbit (through his frisbee)
This one goes out to the Vena Contra Plug! I never leave home without it!

Malevolence attempts to absorb it into his being, but the living portion of it causes his body to simply bounce off of it like magnets repeling.

Malevolence
What is this-?!
Frisbit
The end of your plan!

Frisbit attempts to remotely fly the disc towards Malevolence, but the Mechamorph fires beams out of his eyes in retaliation. Failing to fly around them, he gets burnt by one and lands on the floor.

Malevolence
Ben Tennyson… it’s a shame we have to meet under these circumstances.

Grantgrant goes over and reaches for the idle frisbee. Picking it up, he brings it over to Malevolence, who grips it tightly in his sole functioning hand.

Malevolence
Your little muse would be so disappointed in you right now. What was her name again?
Vilgax
Julie.
Malevolence
Julie, yes.

His head transforms again.

Malevolence (insane)
What a pretty name.

The frisbee spins up in Malevolence’s hand. Its propulsion fires, taking Malevolence with it as he holds on tightly.

Another transformation, back to normal.

Malevolence
Question for you, Ben: Do you know why I’m in here?
Frisbit (flying)
I don’t care. Keep her name out of your mouth.
Malevolence
You’re not the slightest bit interested? Not even in why I’m the only one of my kind you’ve ever met with purple markings?

On foot, Vilgax, Cyanne and Grantgrant follow where Frisbit flies his frisbee. To throw them off, as well as to try and detach Malevolence, the frisbee shakes and continues to randomly reverse-course and fly upwards.

Malevolence
You don’t seem to be paying attention. Let me help.

The markings along Malevolence’s body enflame. An aura of violet, electrified energy bursts from his core.

Malevolence (engulfed in flame and electricity)
IMPULSE!

The frisbee loses any speed, crashing towards the floor. The Omnitrix loses its luster, as does Malevolence’s markings, which revert to a dim green more typical of his people. Nearing the ground, Malevolence reshapes his body around the frisbee’s top so he is unaffected by the crash.

Frisbit’s frisbee, however, lay idle. Distantly, Frisbit’s main body screams.

Malevolence (to Grantgrant and Cyanne)
The Omnitrix won’t save him now. Find the rest of him.

[Outside of time: On a floating screen in a pitch black, infinite room, these scenes transpire before a nerve-wracked Professor Paradox.]

Professor Paradox
This can’t be.

A hand is placed on his shoulder. Paradox looks over to the gray-haired feline humanoid Ilario.

Ilario
If you don’t step in soon, I will.
Professor Paradox
It hasn’t come that far.
Ilario
And who’s going to stop it?

Paradox stares at the screen, fixated on the unmoving metallic, wire-covered frisbee.

[Back in Null Void Incarcecon: Malevolence and Vilgax’s stooges nod, Cyanne gripping his fists as he feels his abilities return. He grabs Grantgrant and flies in the direction of the distant screams, as Vilgax remains by Malevolence’s side.

Vilgax
What other abilities are you hiding?
Malevolence
I’m sure you won’t trust me, but none. Even that one’s quite-

He drops to his knees, dropping his working elbow in the frisbee lodged upright in the floor.

Malevolence
-Exhausting.
Vilgax
I see.
Malevolence
I’ve held this back because it’s quite useless without assistance. Too short range to incapacitate the whole prison, and too temporary to escape on. But with help…
Vilgax
I’d never expect you of all heathens to have a modification that’s so reliant on others.
Malevolence
Oh, you’ve got it wrong. I don’t “rely” on anyone. Those around me are more like…

He looks off to Grantgrant and Cyanne, distantly flying through the cell blocks.

Malevolence
Cannon fodder.

[Cell Block R: Frisbit is slouched weakly over the edge of a railing on the second floor. The temporary loss of the frisbee brings with it full-body pain. He hears the bickering voices of Cyanne and Grantgrant and is forced to stand up, pushing him to roll over from on his stomach to on his back on the rails.

He barely manages to raise a hand out, attempting to pull his frisbee back to himself, but this task fails. His Omnitrix too far and disabled, he can’t even switch to a better form. So he simply stands up straight, and starts running, tripping frequently as he clutches his body.

Ben turns to see Cyanne flying over. Reaching the ceiling, Cyanne releases Grantgrant just above our hero. Landing on this second floor pathway, however, shakes the floor, dropping Frisbit to one knee. Grantgrant runs over to take advantage of this, grabbing him from behind, trapping even his arms.

Frisbit, with one charged up lift, drops his foot to step on Grantgrant’s foot.]

Grantgrant
…Was that supposed to hurt?
Frisbit
Look, I don’t have many options.

Cyanne, cloaking. lands gracefully in front of Frisbit.

Cyanne
You’re making this too easy, Ben.
Frisbit
Uh… yeah, because I just want you to take me to your leaders. There, I’ll knock them out and put them back in their cages.

Cyanne looks to Grantgrant then back to Frisbit.

Cyanne
Okay, then.

Cyanne dashes intangibly through Frisbit, freezing all but his head in ice.

Frisbit
C’mon!
Cyanne
Just break out, hero.
Frisbit
Cyanne, why are you doing this? You’re a good person- er, being.

Cyanne drops his head.

Cyanne
Grant, pick him up. It’s a bit too much weight for me to fly with. I’ll meet you back at the bosses.

He takes off.

[Soon after, Grantgrant arrives, dragging the frozen Frisbit along the floor. Malevolence is back on his feet, though his markings are still a faded green rather than the purple he’s used to.]

Malevolence (holding Frisbit’s frisbee in one hand)
So, Ben Tennyson. We meet – in person – at last. I imagine you need this.

He flings the disc at Frisbit’s head, which bounces off and hits the floor.

Malevolence
My bad. I should’ve said “heads up!”
Frisbit
You’re not getting out of here.
Malevolence
Speak for yourself.

Malevolence makes a tongue-clicking sound – somehow – at Cyanne, pushing the Necrofriggian to repeat his intangible freezing. This hardens the melting ice.

Malevolence
You look so sad. So defeated. Go ahead, transform. Show us what you prepared for the class. That’s what you told my associate, right? That you’d put us back in our cages?
Frisbit
I still can.

Malevolence turns to Vilgax.

Vilgax
I know the secrets of that device, boy. It’s not on; you are trapped.

Vilgax approaches. Initially, he starts to unsheathe his blade, but instead he begins pulling out several small cylinders. They plug into round ports along the muscles of his arms.

Frisbit
What are you-?

With the last one installed, Vilgax breathes. The cylinders all begin to rotate swiftly, as his arms engorge. He tosses off his gauntlets – too thin for his greater build – as the transformation completes. He exhales a sigh of relief as he stares at Ben.

He punches his alien form in the face, once with a left hook, then with a right.

Vilgax
It took me years to heal from my injuries. I hope you know that.

He raises his arms up above Frisbit’s frisbee, cupping his two hands into each other.

Vilgax
No matter the form, by the way: If your transformation dies, so do you.
Malevolence (to Ben)
Finally, you can join your “Julia.”

Frisbit curls his gel eyes in anger.

Frisbit
Her name is JULIE!

Vilgax drops his hands to smash the frisbee.

Malevolence laughs maniacally, his head and voice rapidly changing back and forth.

After a moment of reveling in the moment, he looks out to see Vilgax’s fists frozen above the frisbee in a block of ice. Malevolence instantly turns around to Cyanne, who’s no longer behind him. Quickly, his body is in its own block, leaving out only his head.

Cyanne grabs Frisbit’s frozen body – and his frisbee – and attempts to fly with it, held down by the weight. Grantgrant attempts to run after them, but though he trails behind, Vilgax catches up and surpasses him. His hands still frozen, he reaches Cyanne, lunges, and slams the ice around his fists onto Cyanne’s back. It knocks the Necrofriggian out of the air – not that he was able to get too high – and onto the ground, dropping Frisbit. The fall not being too steep, Frisbit’s ice is merely chipped at a corner as he slides along the floor. But from across the room, Ben watches Cyanne turn around to Vilgax towering over him.

From breaking the ice that had frozen his hands, he had also shattered his fists. His arms are now stumps, ending with a jagged cut at the wrists.

Cyanne (nervously)
What now, tough guy?

Vilgax lifts a leg and drops it full speed into Cyanne’s stomach.

Vilgax
We never trusted you, Necrofriggian.

He rotates his foot, shifting Cyanne around like a shoe smearing a bug.

Vilgax
You were always just food for Scarogus. Your Cyogen will make a great treat.

Cyanne merely groans.

Vilgax
Join your brother. Tennyson is next.

Vilgax raises his foot once more.

Frisbit
NO!

Vilgax slams it down.

[END OF PART]

Part II[]

[Null Void Incarcecon: The life leaves Cyanne’s eyes. Bubbles in Frisbit’s eyes multiply and enflame.

Though the Omnitrix is still disabled on it, his frisbee bounces to life on the floor and shocks Vilgax in the back, temporarily neutralizing his abilities and even deflating his pumped-up arms. The disc then scoops up Cyanne’s body and maneuvers it around Vilgax as he tries to kick it out of the air.

He brings the disc swiftly up a floor and lays Cyanne’s body flat. Vilgax recuperates, beginning to run for Frisbit, whose disc settles back onto his back. The Omnitrix rings as it briefly regains charge.

A bright green burst replaces the encapsulated alien with Combustiball, who melts all of the ice away, then flies just out of Vilgax’s way to Cyanne’s aid. Vilgax leaps to catch Combustiball, forgetting he is without any fingers, and falling to the ground. Grantgrant catches him, collapsing from the weight.]

Vilgax (watching Combustiball get away, standing up)
Curses.

A voice enters his head as he gets up and gestures Grantgrant to remain in place.

Scarogus (through Mother’s telepathic link)
It’s been radio silence for quite some time, Vilgax.
Vilgax
Your midnight snack got away.

Scarogus sighs.

Scarogus
We knew this could happen. How is the shield coming along?

Vilgax turns around back in the direction of Malevolence.

Vilgax
Malevolence is incapacitated.
Scarogus (anger beginning to shine through)
Well, capacitate him, unless you’ve got another way of taking it down.
Vilgax (looking in the direction Ben went)
But Ben Tennyson-
Scarogus
If Ben Tennyson is already present, and you don’t have that shield down, then you might as well give up hope of getting out of there today.

Vilgax sneers out loud, grips Grantgrant under his arm, and dashes back to Malevolence.

[Back at Malevolence: After carelessly releasing Grantgrant onto the floor, Vilgax carefully cuts through the ice block with his optical lasers, beginning with the face. Once it’s fully uncovered, his purple-again, single eye begins to pan around.]

Malevolence
Let me guess: Scarogus?

Vilgax misses and singes Malevolence’s skin.

Malevolence
Ow! That didn’t look like an accident!
Vilgax (continuing to cut the ice)
Oh, it wasn’t.

[Upstairs, where Frisbit left Cyanne: Healding has long since taken Combustiball’s place. The equine healer firmly presses two hooves onto Cyanne’s chest. Glimmers of life finally return to his eyes. The being coughs, still weak from the injuries just before his brief death.]

Cyanne (groggily)
Ben Tennyson… what happened…?
Healding
You kicked the bucket. I brought you back.

His hands glisten with the magic used for his abilities.

Cyanne
Amazing…
Healding
We don’t have much time.
Cyanne
We have to… leave…
Healding
Yeah, not gonna happen. The way I got in isn’t particularly easy, and it only works for me.

Healding keeps pressing down, attempting to further heal Cyanne.

Healding (easing up)
This is the most I can do. I can’t give you energy you don’t have.
Cyanne
Thank you… Leave me here. Continue the fight.
Healding
Oh, you’re helping, buddy. You were on their side. Surely, you know what’s going on. You’re at least going to answer some questions.
Cyanne
I was never on their side. They said they were working with a guy who killed my brother… so I wanted to sabotage whatever they were working on.
Healding (uneasy)
The person who killed your brother… it was Albedo, right?
Cyanne
Yes. I’ve heard he’s no longer around.

Healding stares with a blank expression at Cyanne, then looks away.

Healding
Someone who worked with him is working with Malevolence and Vilgax?
Cyanne
Yeah… one of the old Commander’s finest… goes by Scarogus.

Healding stands upright on all four, transforming into Plasmodic, whose typically white body takes on a sharp, blood red tint.

Plasmodic
Tell me where they are.

[A dark room: A green light shines through as a ray cuts a circular hole in the door. The cylindrical chunk of the door in the hole is pushed out, and a hand reaches in to twist the doorknob from the outside. Coming in are Malevolence, freed from the ice, and Vilgax. Grantgrant also attempts to come in but Vilgax gestures for him to watch the hallway.

Vilgax and Malevolence enter to an array of controls for the prison, as well as a window overlooking the center.]

Malevolence
Aren’t there normally men manning these controls?
Vilgax
According to our associate, they leave to help control riots.
Malevolence
They made this too easy.

He extends his hand to the panel and melds with it.

Vilgax
How long should it take to get it offline?
Malevolence (struggling)
I- I don’t think I can.
Vilgax
What?
Malevolence
Even this control panel is designed against my intrusion.
Vilgax
Fine.

He attempts to unsheathe his blade but quickly realizes he is physically unable.

Grantgrant steps into the room and grabs it himself.

Grantgrant
I got this.

Vilgax remains close to quiet, growling as Grantgrant plunges the tip of the heavy sword into the controls. Some sparks fly, but no sign of success yet. Grantgrant returns the blade to Vilgax’s possession.

Grantgrant
I’ll just… go back to the hall.

Vilgax begins to blast the controls with his ruby ray, but it merely reflects back and hits him in the face.

Vilgax
It is designed against myself as well.

Malevolence slams his arm on the desk – which in the process incurs no damage. However, while doing so, he looks out the window and sees Plasmodic, his size doubled to ten feet, running through the cell blocks this way.

Malevolence (to Vilgax)
Vilgax, what do the two of us have in common?
Vilgax
We’re in prison.
Malevolence
What about our origins?
Vilgax
We were rulers – myself, a good one.
Malevolence
Modest much? But no, we are of the same galaxy.

Vilgax contorts an eye, as if to raise a brow skeptically.

Malevolence
Have you thought about how Tennyson got in when every guard is out of commission and every one of our inmates has either met their fate or locked in their cages?
Vilgax
He always has his ways.
Malevolence
But this prison is designed against our ways.

The room begins to shake.

Malevolence
It’s designed against every species the Plumbers deals with. And you, Vilgax, have seen just about everything. Can you tell me you’ve ever seen the transformations Ben Tennyson is using today?

Vilgax looks aside, thinking, shaking his head as he recalls each one. In a eureka moment, his eyes gape as he returns his view to Malevolence.

Malevolence’s head shakes, his personality shifting and his eye replaced by a devious grin once more.

Malevolence (higher, sharper voice)
Let’s welcome our esteemed guest.

Grantgrant can be heard being hurled down the hall.

Plasmodic (deep voice)
MALEVOLENCE. VILGAX.

The two step out into his view. He is cramped in the wide, but short, hallway, breaking the walls to fit.

Without another word, Plasmodic races at them. Once he gets close, they dash back into the control panel room, Plasmodic sliding to a halt on the way. He turns around and casually breaks through the walls around the doorway to the room.

Malevolence stands right in front of the panel, with Vilgax to his side. Both are in battle stances.

Plasmodic
WHAT IS THIS?

His eyes glow before he releases an intense plasma beam in a fast, horizontal sweeping motion. Malevolence dodges it by splitting his body, but Vilgax only barely escapes by rolling out of the way.

Automated Voice (loud speaker across the prison)
Zone 1 shields offline. Temperature control offline. Cell block power offline.

In the process of firing wildly, Plasmodic completely eviscerated the control panel, as well as the wall with the window overlooking the rest of the prison. Malevolence grabs Vilgax and leaps down to the lower level, maniacally laughing all the while.

Plasmodic peeks out at the rest of the prison, where a few prisoners here and there – previously trapped in their cells – break out and start following Malevolence and Vilgax.

Plasmodic
GET BACK IN YOUR CELLS, NOW.

He leaps out after them, landing on some prisoners but ignoring them on his path to the two he’s after.

Voice 38A (over Plasmodic’s Omnitrix intercom)
Tennyson, you got backup.
Plasmodic
NOT NOW, KEVIN. YOU NEED REST.

Shuffling can be heard on the other end as someone else takes the microphone.

Voice 38B (over Plasmodic’s Omnitrix intercom)
Ben, you’re not doing this alone.
Plasmodic
I’VE GOT IT HANDLED, MERCEDES.

Plasmodic bashes his Omnitrix symbol, popping up the badge.

Plasmodic
OMNITRIX, DISABLE PLUMBER RELAY.
Mercedes/Voice 38B
Wait-

The voice turns to static, then the Omnitrix’s tower returns to its base.

Omnitrix (in Ben’s voice)
Disabled.

[Cell Block Z: After several minutes of running, Malevolence and Vilgax finally come to an end. A door is wide-open, but peering in, it is empty, with a massive hole leading down a trash chute.

Malevolence and Vilgax turn around to Plasmodic, distant but still on his way.]

Malevolence (shouting)
You know, it was my idea for the Armada to take someone you love!

Plasmodic stops in his tracks.

Malevolence
I had Scarogus’s ear, and I thought it would be a great way to handicap you and make the battle so much easier to win!
Vilgax (whispering, to Malevolence)
You don’t think he’ll believe that lie-
Plasmodic (shouting)
HOW DARE YOU.

Vilgax rolls his eyes as Malevolence sneers. Plasmodic continues back down the path. Malevolence’s personality shifts, returning to an eye beam.

Malevolence (darker voice)
Stop. You don’t want to have more blood on your hands, do you?

A small spacecraft lowers into view in the doorway behind Malevolence and Vilgax. The back doors of the hovering cargo vessel kick open to reveal three people in a cage. Plasmodic stops, seeing each member of the Omega Squad as well as Cash, JT, and Selina in their knight garbs.

Malevolence (looking to the cage)
Thank you for bringing everyone around, Scarogus.

Malevolence blasts the cage, letting the three come up. He then expands his arm to stop them from running out to Ben.

Malevolence (to Plasmodic)
Freedom for me means freedom for them.

He turns to the kids, puts down his hand, and begins to charge up the beam on his eye, facing them.

Malevolence
Make your choice. You have 10 seconds since I’ve heard you love that number.

Plasmodic’s coloration shifts slightly towards white. He balls a fist and hits the side of it to his Omnitrix badge, transforming into XLR8.

Malevolence
Be wise.

XLR8’s visor smacks down.

Vilgax
He’s going to-

As XLR8 dashes forward, Vilgax unleashes his arcing red eye beam, tracing XLR8 at the same speed that he speedily runs. XLR8 grabs Selina, Vilgax’s ray all the while following. But Malevolence, much slower to react to a Kineceleran’s full speed, adjusts. Vilgax’s beam finally hits XLR8 after he grabs the Omega Squad and Cash, knocking him off of his rhythm and shooting him towards Malevolence.

Malevolence adopts yet again his other personality, his powered-up beam visible now on the grin that replaces him, as he fires with full power at JT.

XLR8, just barely leaning up on his back, cries out as JT falls flat on his face and bleeds profusely in the process. Malevolence lays a foot on XLR8’s chest to keep him down.

Malevolence
IMPULSE!

Eradiating another purple electromagnetic pulse, Malevolence shuts down Ben’s Omnitrix once more.

Malevolence (switching personalities)
Fun fact: I have acute vision – you do too as a Mechamorph. Try to squint and you’ll zoom all the way in. I saw you shortly after you chucked your little disc at me earlier. And I saw you when you used some kind of healing alien to bring that two-faced Necrofriggian back to life. Not going to let you do that agai-

The spacecraft in the doorway begins to shake uncontrollably. Losing power from the pulse Malevolence let out, it begins to tip over and nosedive into the miles-deep trash chute.

Malevolence
Crap.

Malevolence lets off of Vilgax and leaps into the chute. As he falls, he attempts to contort his body around the ship, but he is too weak from his Impulse to do so. The ship can be seen lodging itself in heaps of trash, incurring no damage from the soft floor. Also catapulting into the heap is Vilgax. He soon swims out from under it all with just his arms.

Malevolence, splattered on the floor, continues to try and adjust to the ship as it sinks inward.

Vilgax
You imbecile; we had him without your little blast!
Voice 38C (ethereal, wispy)
No fighting.

A bright green burst amidst the darkness of the chute brings a Mechamorph, with an Omnitrix symbol firmly on his stomach.

Malevolence
But how-?
Vilgax
The older Tennyson.

This older version of Upgrade, denoted by sharpened shoulders and a gruff, stoic eye, turns to the ship and morphs into it. He repairs what’s broken and lifts it out of the trash heap, soon after pulling his body off.

Malevolence
Why are you doing this? Why do you continue to help us?

Future Upgrade looks to Malevolence in silence.

Future Upgrade
I’m not helping you. I’m helping myself and doing right by myself – no one else.

He transforms again, into a full-formed Ectonurite, before fading back into the shadows.

Malevolence and Vilgax stare at each other, chills down their spines from this eery variant of Ben, before they leap into the back of the small ship and close the doors.

They look to the pilot’s seat and see Scarogus focused.

Scarogus
Ready to take your thrones?

[Upstairs on the main floor: Cash holds up JT’s lifeless body, Selina at their side. XLR8 repeatedly bashes his disabled Omnitrix.]

XLR8
C’mon, please, I can’t lose anyone else!
Mercedes’s Voice (from the chute area)
I thought you said you got this.

A rope made of mana dangles into view through the doorway. Sliding down it is Mercedes in her human form. She swings forward to get inside. Coming in afterward are Kevin and Gwen, and then Chelsey maneuvering on her own mana-made platforms.

Mercedes
What’s with your Omnitrix?
XLR8
Apparently, Malevolence has the ability to just shut it down at will.
Mercedes
Huh.

Mercedes pushes XLR8 back.

XLR8
What are you-?

Mercedes becomes Healding. With that form, she begins to pump her two front hooves into JT, glowing as she passes life into him.

Mercedes Healding (to Ben)
You could’ve left me for dead.

JT coughs.

Mercedes Healding
But you chose to bring me back.

The boy’s eyes wince.

Mercedes Healding
Keep doing right by others, hero.

JT sits up swiftly, gasping for air, clutching his stomach – the site of Malevolence’s blast.

Gwen and Chelsey cheer it on, as JT looks around confusedly.

JT
What- what happened?

Cash hugs him tightly. JT, staring awkwardly, returns it.

Cash
You had me worried.
JT
What’d I do?

Everyone in the cell block shifts their focus to the loud propulsion sound of the escapees’ ship rising in the chute. Malevolence has a single back door kicked open.

Malevolence
Well, this has been fun!

Gwen throws a blast at Malevolence, but it stops at some invisible barrier. At the point of impact, a blue light shines. Kevin runs towards Malevolence, smacking into the edge of the barrier just shy of the doorway. He begins to bang on it.

Kevin
What’s going on!
Malevolence
Just some good work, courtesy of Mother’s Employee of the Month.

Malevolence gestures towards the group. Everyone averts their eyes to the other side of the barrier, where Selina stands idly. XLR8 rushes her, but is similarly stopped by the wall, bouncing off it.

Selina
Thank you for trusting me.

Her skin melts away, revealing the glowing white core between an outer blue coloration of 23rd Dimensional visitor Sii.

Sii/Selina
We can’t have done it without you.
Malevolence (as Sii jumps over the barrier and sprints to the ship)
The anger, especially. I mean, you think I called for your partner’s killing? She’s nothing more than a speck to the universe. And if you had any grasp on your emotions, maybe you would’ve realized that.

Sii leaps into the ship, the back door closing. Malevolence’s personality shifts, and from his wide grin, he blows a kiss. The ship angles upwards and shoots out of NVI, escaping the still-offline outside barrier.

XLR8 stands up and balls up his claws as he approaches JT.

XLR8 (almost growling)
This. Is your fault.

With Malevolence out of range, XLR8’s Omnitrix returns to life quicker than expected. He transforms into Dreadsense and lets out an ear-piercing scream.

[Outside of time: Professor Paradox watches the screams, muting the sound as if on a television.]

Ilario
That’s it.

Paradox turns to see him, as well as a Petrosapien to his side.

Ilario
We’re stepping in.
