Lapluromini are a humanoid mechanical species from the Kostruer Belt.
Appearance[]
Lapluromini are humanoid mechanical aliens who are constructed out of trillions of microscopic cell-like machines called nanites. They lack conventional endoskeletons, circulatory and nervous systems, with their internal structure forming a complex network of scaffolding and bridges that are able to transport, store and replace most acquired materials on the fly. Their nanites form smooth, black exoskeletons, with additional plating for their head, shoulders, chest, hands, hips, knees, shins and feet, which is salmon red by default. Their faces are white, with two glowing eyes, a nose and a mouth slit with a frowning expression that does not move when they speak, but instead glows in the middle and the glow spreads towards its corners with varying speed and intensity according to their emotions. Their arms and shins possess a varying number of white hexagonal panels.

Behavior[]
Lapluromini prefer to keep their distance from the rest of the galaxy. They have designated Sentinels that form hard light constructs in order to further shield the Konstruer Belt. Not many species know of their existence, but the ones who do sought them out due to their potential in medical advancement.

Powers and Abilities[]
A Lapluromini's nanites have the ability to rapidly self-replicate and rearrange themselves, giving them the ability to shapeshift with ease. They can form various constructs, or "builds", such as enlarged gauntlets, blades, shields, pillars and other weapons and/or tools.
Lapluromini can generate hard light constructs from the hexagonal panels located throughout their bodies, thus saving up on the active nanites being utilized.
Lapluromini can generate a devastating electromagnetic pulse that is able to disable any electronic equipment in the near vicinity.
Lapluromini can separate their bodies into multiple smaller copies of themselves referred to as "drones". These drones have all the functions of the original Lapluromini to a more limited degree, as well as the ability to assimilate almost any technology they encounter. This technology is engrained into the genetic blueprint map encoded to all Lapluromini, therefore permanently enhancing them with the attributes of the assimilated technology.
A Lapluromini's nanites can be utilized for a variety of medical purposes, such as advancing cellular regeneration of any type, regulating autoimmune disorders and even performing nanosurgery, including precise and otherwise impossible tumor excisions. Once their purpose is fulfilled, the Lapluromini can safely extract the nanites from the patient.
Lapluromini can levitate in all forms.
Lapluromini are able to combine themselves with other Lapluromini to increase their powers exponentially.
Weaknesses[]
Lapluromini's bodies are vulnerable to acid; their hard light constructs can provide sufficient protection, however.
While a Lapluromini's hard light constructs are more cost-efficient, they are also more limited in scope compared to the builds generated by their active nanites.
A Lapluromini's drones are weakened the further apart they are spread from one another.
