Kevin Ethan Levin is an Osmosian and a member of Ben's Team. When Kevin first appeared in the Classic Saga, he quickly became one of Ben's most notable enemies. However, he reformed in Alien Force Saga, and became one of the main heroes of the franchise, until his departure with Gwen in The More Things Change: Part 1.
Appearance[]
Regular Appearances[]
In the Classic Saga, Kevin was a thin and scrawny boy with shoulder-length black hair, pale skin, and dark brown eyes with black-discolored marks around them (a sign that Kevin has recently absorbed energy). He wore a torn black T-shirt, black studded armbands, brown cargo pants, black boots, and a padlock necklace which is a spoil from his first crime: stealing a bike and using it to run away to New York. After absorbing an Omnitrix feedback, Kevin was able to transform into exact copies of all of the unlocked aliens, missing an Omnitrix symbol.
In Alien Force Saga, Kevin grew into a tall and muscular young man. His eyes lacked the black marks (as his body fully recovered from and stopped absorbing energy). His normal attire in Seasons 1 and 2, as well as Ultimate Alien Saga, was a tight black T-shirt over a grey long sleeve shirt, blue pants, and black combat shoes. His hair, although still long, was styled into a choppy mullet.
By the Alien Force Saga, he wore a short-sleeved light blue oil-stained mechanic's jacket over a white muscular shirt, blue pants, and his black combat shoes. After he went through a mutation, an unbalanced mixture of various matters, the transformation completely destroyed his clothes, except his briefs. As a result, Kevin had to wear an ID Mask in public to appear human. In his mutated form, he looked like a mixture of solid materials such as stone, wood, Taydenite, and metal.
In Ultimate Alien Saga, he wore a standard Plumber suit during a few of his off-world excursions.
In Omniverse Saga, Kevin wore the same black shirt, but the sleeves and collar were roughly cut, his grey shirt has stripes, the sleeves on his long-sleeved grey shirt were slightly torn and he wore blue holsters. His hair was longer and straighter, and his pants had a small tear below the left knee. He also wore a padlock necklace similar to the one he wore when he was 11, but marked with an "11". He also sported black marks around his eyes, making him appear tired; these marks bear similarity to when he was 11 and still absorbing energy.
In Weapon XI, Kevin gets the same cross-shaped scar to his chin that his futureself has.
12-year-old Kevin in Omniverse Saga looks exactly the same as how he does in the Classic Saga, except for the fact that the color of his cargo pants are grey instead of brown and his padlock necklace is marked with an "11".
Personality[]
Due to a complicated childhood and having supernatural abilities at a young age, Kevin exhibited psychopathic tendencies and was willing to hurt/kill anyone for his personal gain. This mentality stemmed from being treated like a 'freak' by his peers and family, and was only exacerbated by the negative mental side effects he experienced whenever he absorbed too much energy. This caused Kevin to live with many insecurities about himself; he would embrace his 'freak' title while also being paranoid of other people using it against him. His paranoia progressed to the point of considering everyone to be his enemy because, as he put it, "Nobody's innocent! They just haven't had the chance to make fun of me yet!". Kevin thus rejected society at a young age, and would commit various crimes and acts of violence against innocents. One telling instance of his cruelty was when he attempted to ram a money train into another train carrying passengers, and simply parroted the phrase "no pain, no gain" at the thought of all the innocent lives that would be lost.
Kevin's outlook began to change when he met Kwarrel, a fellow prisoner in the Null Void Incarcecon. Becoming somewhat of a mentor and father-figure to him, Kwarrel helped improve Kevin's anger issues and ultimately sacrificed his life to protect him. Kwarrel's influence undoubtedly helped change Kevin's personality for the better. Kevin would later want to become a hero of sorts (which was later manipulated by the Rooters' leader Servantis to further his own goal).
By Alien Force Saga (and onward), Kevin had changed significantly. Despite having become a con artist and an arms broker, he was much more stable, having developed a mature yet snarky and lax personality. No longer so angry, he drops his big rivalry with Ben (what was previously so important to him) and works with him and Gwen to honor the dying words of Magister Labrid. Though Kevin was initially untrusting of them, he befriends Ben and falls in love with Gwen during the time they spend together, growing to become a core member of their team. He also develops a respect for Max Tennyson, whose younger personality Kevin's is said to resemble.
While changed for the better, Kevin still often shows a delinquent side, seen when he attempts to sell the Rust Bucket 2 to Vulkanus for alien technology (albeit technology he intended to give to Ben), conspires with Argit to sell weapons to both sides of a warring alien race, and even pawns Princess Looma on Ben to get out of his engagement. Despite this side of Kevin, Ben and especially Gwen still greatly trust him, and offer him second chances with each break in loyalty. Kevin would later tell Ben that he is grateful to them for having offered him compassion and changing his life.
Kevin starts healthily channeling his delinquency through a love of cars and automotive engineering. He is extremely protective of his car, always upgrading and modifying it, and becomes very upset whenever it gets damaged, which happens on a fairly regular basis when Ben is around. He is also protective of his dog, Zed.
Kevin's morals have also improved. Though he may do unethical things like scheming to make money, his conscience is clear. He now shows disgust at those who take advantage of others and the innocent, such as when he yelled at Argit for abusing Andrea's trust, sucker-punched Argit moments later for not showing any remorse for Andreas having sacrificed its life, brawled Zed's previous owner Khyber while calling him a jerk for his harmful and cold treatment of her, and reprimanded Ra'ad for being selfish and abandoning others to save himself (which itself is a parallel of Kevin's own past tendencies), He even stops himself from a great prospect of money after noticing the containment suit he was tasked with breaking open was highly sealed for a reason.
Despite having adopted a more positive outlook on life, Kevin still suffers from his old insecurities, which resurface the most when he is mutated.
