Plot[]
In the park, a boy climbs a tree to retrieve his lost frisbee. He makes it up, but finds himself stuck up there, as usual for those his age, he remembered his fear of heights just when he made it to the finish line.
Luckily, Ben and Gwen Tennyson were there (Max was nowhere in sight), Ben smirks, twisting the dial and transforming into Wildmutt.
"Great idea, Ben, turn into the drooling, viscous attack dog to save the scared child." Gwen tapped her foot as Wildmutt growled.
Wildmutt climbed the tree, slowly approaching the boy who flinched, covering his face in his hands before opening them to say...
"Let me out!" The boy had Ghostfreak's eye and patterns before fading into the tree, as it shapeshifted into a giant Ghostfreak, squeezing Wildmut until he...
Woke up on the floor of the Rust Bucket. How was he supposed to explain this one?
"Ben, we have the chance to go somewhere actually close to home for once. At least feign some excitement while you're there." Gwen stared down at Ben.
"Yeah, go Friedkin..." Ben rubbed his eyes, "anyone else think college is a scam for snobs or is it just me?"
"Ben, this is important. You can complain once it's over." Max sighed.
The Rust Bucket finally showed up, it was definitely... very purple. The three were greeted by the equally purple-obsessed Tiffany, their tour guide for the day. To say any of the three enjoyed being around her was a lie.
"Good morning, welcome to Friedkin. I hope you enjoy the tour." She monotonously said, "Remind me of your credentials er... Gwen?"
"Let's see, I..." Gwen began listing off selling points from her early application letter before handing her a spreadsheet of them.
"I will be sure to look over this."
"'I will be sure to look over this'." Ben imitated her robotic tone, mumbling under his breath before they moved to the science lab but he could swear he kept seeing Ghostfreak...
Gwen was fawning over the equipment within the lab, Ben pressed his face up to some glass to see how it warped the image for Tiffany to snap her fingers at him.
"Look, don't touch."
Suddenly, Bunsen burners went off, beakers kept breaking as Ghostfreak seemed to manifest in Ben's shadow, as the boy kept breaking beakers to get away, he tripped on some liquid and the sprinkler system went off.
"I've seen enough. Gwen Tennyson, please do better to convince me you are Friedkin material."
The Tennysons were kicked out of the lab while staff went to repair it, they then heard a crashing noise over in the gym, Ben quickly running to investigate to find the Circus Freaks.
"What are YOU doing here?!" Ben and the Circus Freaks yelled at each other at the same time, Ben quickly twisting, only to see only Ghostfreak. What did he do to the universe to deserve this. He transformed anyway, and things already felt different.
"Hah! We're not afraid of no ghosts!" Acid Breath spat a stream of acid at Ghostfreak
"You're gonna pay for what you did to our boss!" Frightwig grabbed Ghostfreak as he dodged out of the way of the first attack while Thumbskull tossed part of the bleachers at him.
The trio smirked, only for Acid Breath to bump right into Ghostfreak, who jammed his hand straight through Acid Breath's neck in a state of mixed tangibility, causing him to drop to the floor, wheezing, unable to breathe. He phased through Thumbskull who tried to catch him before pickup up the brute by the thumb on his head, holding him up high.
Gwen and Max come in, completely appalled by Ghostfreak's fighting style.
"Gwen, stay back, something's not right... I've never seen Ben this... vicious."
Ghostfreak held Thumbskull as a human shield against Frightwig, blocking every whip before phasing both hands into the colossus' head, paralyzing him before he was tossed at Frightwig like a ragdoll.
Frightwig grabbed Ghostfreak by both arms and began to pull him apart but he just phased into the ground, alternating between arms as he slammed her face into the ground repeatedly.
"Ben! You're ruining everything!"
Ghostfreak appeared in front of Gwen, staring her down, "It seems you don't understand the situation. Ben isn't here anymore." Ghostfreak then let the part of Frightwig's hair he was holding go, letting it fly back and hit her, sending her and the rest of the goons out of the door before going to chase them.
Floating through the corridors, the Omnitrix begins to time out.
"No! I'm not... going... back! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!" And then, rather than disappear in a flash of light, Ghostfreak literally ejected out of Ben's body, leaving Ben on the floor.
"Man... talk about an out of body experience..." Ben sighed, looking up, realizing this was a little more literal, "This isn't happening, you're supposed to be in here."
Ben gestured to his recharging Omnitrix.
"Not anymore, not again, not EVER!"
"But... how?"
"An Ectonurite's consciousness can exist within just the tiniest strand of DNA, when I was sampled into that accursed watch, I had my mind trapped within the body of a prepubescent simulacrum of myself. In this state, my existence is fragile, and to be whole... I need your Omnitrix! Let's see how you like being trapped in someone ELSE'S body!"
Ghostfreak then changed, his skin became a dark purple, he grew black claws, he uses them to rip off his second skin, revealing his true form underneath, his head is flipped upside down with rows of sharp, gray teeth and his tentacles spilling out of his gut.
Ben couldn't come up with a word to describe this and he just ran, it didn't matter where, just far away from whatever that thing was, but luckily, it was into the light as Ghostfreak's hands were burnt the moment he stepped into it, preventing him from giving chase. Ben kept running, and running, bumping into Grandpa Max.
"Don't do that!" Ben backed away.
"Do what? Anyways, what happened back there?"
"Can't talk Grandpa, Ghostfreak just broke out of the watch. Who knows where he is now."
A college student is practicing his lines for an upcoming school play with some of his theatre friends, it was "A Midsummer Night's Dream", everything was fine until Ghostfreak showed up, possessed the man and walked out into the light, smirking as the sun didn't effect him.
Back with the Tennysons...
"I don't get it, Ghostfreak's in the watch. How can he be out and about while you're here?" Gwen was still confused.
"Apparently his consciousness was IN Ghostfreak and now that Ghostfreak's OUT he'll become all-powerful or something by taking over me."
"I don't understand either, but I know what we'll need to fight him." Max said as he went to the exit of the university.
In an old building, the freaks are hiding, Thumbskull still passed out, Frightwig and Acid Breath tried to figure out what they could do with him when the student Ghostfreak possessed walked in, the size of the silhouette made them think Ben was back but no.
"Attention 'Circus Freaks', I am your lord, I order you to cower to my will!" He said as he walked into sight.
Obviously, seeing just some random theatre major walk in was hilarious, in fact, Ghostfreak began laughing too before releasing the boy by literally tossing him back through the door and closing it behind him telekinetically.
"What if we don't wanna help you, freak?" Frightwig crossed her arms defiantly as Ghostfreak flew straight past her and possessed Thumbskull's lifeless body making him pick her up by her head, pressing on it as she screamed, "OKAY OKAY I GET IT!"
Ghostfreak then leaves Thumbskull's body, and he could stand and talk.
"I'm okay... I can... I want my mommy... I've got a tummy ache..." Thumbskull sat in the corner, sucking on his one of his many thumbs.
"So, what's the first order of business?" Acid Breath asked.
"Bring me Ben Tennyson..."
The trio search the campus after dark with a special device and are notified of Ghostfreak's presence as they see students running in fear from Acid Breath, Frightwig and a Ghostfreak-possessed Thumbskull.
"He hates the light, huh, well he's gonna REALLY hate Heatblast!" Ben transformed into the Pyronite who propelled towards them to find that Frightwig was holding Tiffany up as a hostage using her hair.
Thumbskull leaps at Heatblast who flipped him over, Acid Breath blasted some spit before Heatblast ignited it sending him back.
Frightwig held out her hostage as Heatblast backed away in fear letting Ghostfreak try to take him on by himself, being hit into Frightwig by a blast from Grandpa's newest device, a Sun Gun, knocking Tiffany free.
Heatblast helped by firing a fire bomb at Ghostfreak who phased into Acid Breath who lunged at Heatblast before Ghostfreak jumped into Frightwig who did the same, then jumping into Thumbskull who blocked any escape route, Ghostfreak contined jumping between bodies to avoid any actual damage until Heatblast intensified his flames and launched them all away.
"Play musical freaks all you want, Ghostfreak, I'll still kick your butt!"
"Which is exactly why I intend to make this interesting." Ghostfreak then went for Ben's cousin, Gwen who was trying to console Tiffany.
The possessed Gwen began to assault Heatblast who couldn't bring himself to fight back, Gwen then scaled the building's walls.
"What's happening?"
"I'm one of the good aliens." Heatblast flung a flame disc at the Circus Freaks, knocking them down again before chasing Gwen, timing out at the top of the wall.
"You can have my body, you can have my watch, just... don't take my cousin."
"Perfect, perfect, anyways..." Ghostfreak-Gwen snapped her fingers, ejecting from his host and launching the Tennyson off the balcony to get to Ben, Max managed to save her while Ben and the Omnitrix fought against Ghostfreak's possession attempt, the watch turning from red to green, Ben turning into Chromastone.
"I need to get out of here!" Chromastone flew off, trying his best to evade Ghostfreak, even flashing some rainbow light at him didn't do much but irritate the specter.
"Come on, that totally worked the last time!" Chromastone was then caught by Ghostfreak's tendrils and tossed into a clock tower where he turned to human.
Max climbed up the rungs of the tower as Ghostfreak repeatedly chased Ben down before the boy reached the one bit of salvation, a curtain with some light, pulling it back to stun Ghostfreak as Max climbed in, firing the Sun Gun directly, letting him be erradicated by the light.
The shaken up Tennysons watched as the humilated Circus Freaks are carried off to jail.
"I don't know if I'll even be able to get in now that... that happened."
"Who needs this dumb school anyway? You can do so much better."
"You sure that ghost's still not messing with your head, you're starting to be way more insightful than usual." Gwen joked, giving Ben a little noogie
"Agh! Grandpa! Grandpa!"

- The "I'm one of the good aliens" line is actually a repurposing of one of Ghostfreaked Out's deleted scenes where Four Arms talks to the former possessed student but ends up scaring him off.
