Hypertrix

The Hypertrix is a machine in Ben 10: Heroes Endeavour that was used by Ben Tennyson to transform into alien life-forms.

Appearance[]

The Hypertrix looks similar in body shape to the Ultimatrix, in the sense that is looks more like a gauntlet than a wristwatch. The end of the Hypertrix closest to the user's hand has a circular curve that goes outwards at the front, and the end furthest from the user's arm is curved in the same way as the end closest to the user's arm on the Omnitrix Version 2.

The silver dial on the Hypertrix varies slightly from the normal metal, due to it having 2 parallel, vertical indents at the top and bottom, and small, silver buttons on each side of the dial. The Hypertrix also has 2 white tubes coming out of the dial that look identical to the tubes on the Prototype Omnitrix. The activation button, located under the dial, is rectangular, and seems to be cut into 3 segments. When the dial has been set to Hypercharge Mode, the 2 white tubes will glow green.

Further up the user's arm is a square shaped command interface, displaying an hourglass pattern that looks identical to the one on the faceplate of the Omniverse Omnitrix, the hourglass pattern disappears when the command interface is in use. There are 2 connected green wires that connect the Hypertrix core to the command interface, and 2 more that go underneath the command interface and inside the body of the device. Nathan's original color scheme for the Hypertrix was a red and gold body, instead of a green and black one. The core color was cyan and displayed a pattern that looked like a capital "N", the same pattern was also visible on the command interface.

Origin[]

The Hypertrix was constructed out of parts supplied by the Plumbers by a technopath named Nathan Jones over the course of 6 months. Originally, the design was incomplete, with a core that operated basic functions, and would only transform the user when the user of the Omnitrix Version 2 was transformed, and it had to be synced with it. Nahan tricked Ben into syncing the 2 devices, allowing Nathan to transform into the Hypercharged version of whatever alien Ben was. Nathan used these features to escape from Plumber HQ and return to Bellwood.

In an attempt to use the Hypertrix sync to remote access the Omnitrix master control to try and lure Ben into a trap, Nathan accidentally turned on the Hypertrix core self-destruct. Due to the Hypertrix not having the proper failsafe, the Hypertrix explosion would detonate and destroy half the universe. Ben took the Hypertrix core and said if he put it inside the Omnitrix, the failsafe would stop the mass destruction. So he turned into Grey Matter and switched the 2 cores. The Hypertrix only caused a small explosion. It was then revealed, that because Ben put the Omnitrix core inside the Hypertrix, he had accidentally completed the Hypertrix, meaning a user could now not only freely access any unlocked alien, but could Hypercharge it too. Before Nathan could get a hold of it, Ben used it to turn into Hypercharged Four Arms, and take Nathan back to Plumber HQ.

When Ben inserted the Omnitrix core into the Hypertrix, the Hypertrix took on its black and green color scheme. Ben continued to use this device and all of it's features before Paradox used Azmuth's Hypertrix Key to upgrade the device for the fight against the Timereaper.

Features[]

Just like the Prototype Omnitrix, the Ultimatrix, the Official Omnitrix, and the Omnitrix Version 2, the Hypertrix mainly allows for the user to alter their DNA at will and transform into a numerous variety of alien species that are each with their own unique powers and abilities (along with their weaknesses) and in a selection of alien DNA that is in groups of 10. There are 1,000,912 DNA samples inside the Hypertrix. Alien DNA is "injected" into the user, meaning they retain the wielder's personality, memories, and consciousness. Because of this, most of the aliens are not full-blown aliens, with the exceptions of Ectonurite and Conductoid DNA.

When the Hypertrix transforms the user, it will transform them into a prime example of the species they selected, meaning they will be the fittest, strongest, healthiest, and most versatile version of that species possible. It also bases the aliens' appearances off what the user would've looked like if they were born as that alien.

The Hypertrix, when it's outer ring is twisted 45° counterclockwise, will display a full, green hologram of a selected alien, similar to the Recalibrated Prototype Omnitrix and the Ultimatrix, the holograms will keep cycling through until the user releases their grip on the outer ring, forcing it back into it's default position. The user can also go backwards through this selection by rotating the dial 45° clockwise. Once a selection has been made, the user can press the side button to make the core pop out, and the user will transform when it's slammed down again. Alien selection can be deactivated by double-twisting the dial 45° clockwise. Hypercharge can be triggered by pressing both buttons on the dial, this will cause the white tubes to light up green. Pressing it again will toggle hypercharge mode off and the tubes will return to their white color. Hypercharge can even be toggled when the user is an alien.

The hypercharge function creates a robotic replica of the currently selected/active transformation, with modified or enhanced versions of their powers which act as an upgrade to their base form, along with a significant energy boost which is taken from the Hypertrix's battery, boosting power but limiting usage time. A hypercharged form is determined by an algorithm which shows how Nathan would envision an improved version of the species.

The Hypertrix has a DNA scanner. If the user goes out of range of uncatalogued DNA. All features of the Hypertrix will remain active even if the user goes out of range of the DNA.

The Hypertrix has a quick-change feature that automatically transforms the user back to normal when they are done using their transformation, causing it not to time out and allowing the user to transform again far quicker. Manually touching the Omnitrix symbol not only can allow the user to immediately transform back into normal, but can also be used to transform into different alien forms while already transformed

The Hypertrix has a Randomizer Function that turns the user into a different amount of aliens at random moments, being randomly selective of the transformations. This randomizer is triggered when the user presses the side button before making a proper alien selection.

The Hypertrix can add extra features to alien forms in order to make them safer/more stable.

The Hypertrix can synchronize with another Omnitrix if activated at the same time. It is because of this feature that the Omnitrix's counterpart from Dimension 23 has unlocked aliens that it did not have previously. It is also because of this feature that the incomplete Hypertrix was able to even transform the user to begin with. This can potentially damage the Hypertrix as the frequency disruption failsafe is broken on the Hypertrix.

The Hypertrix does not rely on the Codon Stream for transformation. Instead, the DNA is stored within itself in a computerized form. The Hypertrix can sync with the Codon Stream in order to download new alien DNA samples, or upload scanned DNA to it.

The Hypertrix can grant its user, as well as an alien form, the ability to speak another language fluently.

The Hypertrix can change the user's gender to adapt to another species.

The Hypertrix, when the user is transformed, places the Omnitrix symbol at the easiest accessible place for the user to hit that won't be a hindrance to the user's powers

The Hypertrix has the functionalities of a regular digital watch.

The Hypertrix adapts the user's clothing to the alien they transform into. It can even make clothing resemble that of the types of clothing the alien species naturally wears.

The Hypertrix has a built-in Universal Translator, it can even translate the language of transformed alien into English, such as when Ben turns into Wildmutt.

The Hypertrix has a distress signal function and homing device, as Azmuth was able to find and rescue Ben when was trapped inside the Incursean Exile Pod.

The Hypertrix cannot lock the user out from unlocking new aliens

The Hypertrix can keep the user stable in most transformations by keeping each transformations' eye color the same as the user's.

Extentions[]

The Hypertrix, when the 2 side buttons on the dial are pushed in, can Hypercharge a tramsformation. Hypercharging a transformation will give the alien a tough, robotic exoskeleton as well as multiple power upgrades. The Hypercharged form is determined by how Nathan would rebuild the alien as a robot and what extra powers the alien might need to counter its current weaknesses. Hypercharging uses up more battery than a regular transformation.

The Hypertrix no longer relies on a limiter for when the device enters recharge mode. Instead, it relies on a powerful battery. The user can transform as many times as they want until the battery runs out and the device is set into recharge mode.

The Hypertrix, rather than using voice command, uses a command interface where commands can be either manually typed in or selected. This can even be used as a way of hacking into other pieces of machinery.

The Hypertrix can have new features installed via Hypertrix Keys. This was designed as a quick and easy way to install new settings and upgrades, as well as bug fixes, to the Hypertrix

The Command Console[]

The Hypertrix can be controlled by The Command Console located to the left of the core

Omnitrix User Access Fingerprint Recognition Mode - Makes the Hypertrix recognize Ben's fingerprints

Command Code 10 - Overrides command console lockout

Command Code 1010 Tennyson Benjamin Disengage Life-Form Lock - Disengages Life-Form lock

Command Code 000 Decouple 0 - Decouples the Omnitrix from the user, allowing the Omnitrix to be worn by others

Command Code 000 Destruct 0 - Sets the Omnitrix into self-destruct mode

Command Code 1412 - Enables device hack mode

Malfunctions and setbacks[]

The Hypertrix does mistransform due to not having a correctly inserted transformation stabilizer. It has been proven that mistransforming happens more frequently if the Hypertrix is damaged.

If the Hypertrix is damaged, it may shorten the battery life, meaning the user isn't able to stay in alien form for as long.

When switching between aliens, the user could be manipulating the controls. Transforming into another alien without changing back does not always work and is bad for the Hypertrix.

Much like previous iterations of the device, the Hypertrix is not hack proof.

The Hypertrix, due to being made of scraps relatively hastily, has a much weaker outer casing than other devices of the sort, this can lead to functional errors not mentioned above if the Hypertrix sustains damage.

Any physical damage done to the user while in alien form, will remain on the user even when detransformed.

The Hypertrix does not have a master control function, instead having just the battery life allowing multiple quick transformations. Unfortunately Nathan was unaware of this even though he built it.

The Hypertrix does not have a security lock system, meaning anyone can use the device, and anyone who slams down the core to transform will become the alien, even if another user is wearing it.

The Hypertrix does not have a failsafe to save the user's life while in jeopardy, meaning the user has a higher mortality rate using this device than the Omnitrix

The Hypertrix does not have failsafes that prevent Galvanic Mechamorphs from tampering with the device, meaning some can even absorb it.

The Hypertrix does not have a custom playlist setting or alien lockouts, meaning the user could easily mistransform into an alien such as Alien X or TOA.

The Hypertrix does not have a failsaf against magic

Modes[]

Each mode on the Hypertrix is represented by the core color and the color of the pattern displayed on the command console.

Active Mode (Color - Green) - The Hypertrix is ready for use and has full access to all features

Recharge Mode (Color - Red) - The Hypertrix has ran out of battery and needs to recharge, recharging when at no battery takes 30 minutes.

Capture Mode (Color - Yellow) - Hypertrix has detected uncatalogued DNA in the area and the command console will display a sonar-like map showing where the new DNA sample is located.

Randomizer Mode (Color - Cyan) - Enables the Randomizer Function. This function is manually activated and deactivated.

Life-Form Lock (Color - White) - The user will be permanently locked as the next alien they transform into/the alien they currently are. This is manually enabled and disabled with Voice command

Self-destruct Mode (Color - Orange) - The color the Omnitrix takes when Self-Destruct mode is activated.

Key Insertion Mode (core opens up to reveal a hole to insert keys) - Allows the user to install a Hypertrix Key. This mode is activated by twisting the activation button clockwise by 90 degrees. When a key is inserted and twistedm it will fade away and the update will have completed. The mode can be deactivated by twisting the activation button back to its original position. The launch of the new update doesn't start as soon as the key has been downloaded, allowing the user to install multiple keys at a time.

Trivia[]

  • The Hypertrix's name came from the word "Hyperlink", showing how the incomplete Hypertrix needed to be linked to the Omnitrix Version 2 in order to transform the user.
  • The original name for the Hypertrix was going to be the Voodootrix, but that didn't sound right.
  • The Hypertrix was originally going to look more like the Ben 10,000 Omnitrix but with a greener color scheme, but that was changed.
  • The Hypertrix was originally meant to serve as a recurring device for Nathan to use against Ben, that idea was scrapped though.
