Hiribonea are a species of sapient insectoids from the planet Primus. They live in and around the Codon Stream, and are well-adapted to life in this unusual environment.
Appearance[]
Hiribonea are small insectoid creatures ranging from two to four feet in height when fully grown. They are bipedal with two relatively large arms, two antennae, and several vents across their bodies through which a bubbling green liquid can be seen.
Powers and Abilities[]
Over generations spent living inside the Codon Stream, they evolved the ability to make use of the DNA contained within, using it to briefly grant themselves the abilities of other alien species. When they are in the stream or the chambers in their bodies have been recently filled with its liquid, they have the ability to randomly transmute parts of their bodies into those of other aliens, granting them access to said aliens' powers in the process. However, they have no control over which aliens or powers they utilize, making this process completely random.

Etymology[]
"Hiribonea" comes from "Hirudinea" (the subclass to which leeches belong) and the "ribonucleic" part of "deoxyribonucleic acid," or DNA.
