Helen Wheels (born Helen Wayne, 1994) is a hero in Bonds and Ben 10: Protector of the Omniverse. She first appeared in Thnks fr th Mmrs. She is a human/Kineceleran hybrid from the planet Earth. She is the adopted sister of Pierce Wheels. She is the Timeline 1 equivalent of the canon Helen.
Appearance[]
As a 10-year-old human, Helen was a green-eyed Caucasian girl with flipped-up, spiky light blue hair wearing a short-sleeved turquoise T-shirt and maroon pants.
As a 10 and 11-year-old Kineceleran, Helen looked the same as she did in the Omniverse flashbacks, but with a longer helmet and green eyes, and her skin was a slightly darker shade of blue.
While working for the Rooters, she wore black Proto-Tech armor.
Now aged 19, Helen has her Alien Force appearance, but she wears an official Plumber suit and has two black lines on her tail.
Her colors match the color palette of Heroes United.
Personality[]
As a child, Helen had a somewhat black-and-white sense of right and wrong and had a great amount of trust in her adoptive mother and the Rooters even though they were not truthful about the Amalgam Kids' true purpose. Helen was also somewhat playful and was not above making jokes during battle.[1]
Over the years, she has become more reserved and jaded, but remains a pure-hearted person at her core.
History[]
Prior to Bonds[]
In 1994, a powerful group known as the Rooters planned to restart their failed Amalgam Kids initiative, but this time, they wanted to take their time raising and training the Amalgam Kids instead of rushing things. Magister Wheels in particular wanted to have a child with her husband and fellow Rooter Trystan to train personally. Fearing for his potential child's future if they were to be used as a child soldier, he decided not to have one. It was around this time that Magister Wheels and Trystan's teammates, the Valdes family, had a child named Pierce. They were thinking of giving him up for adoption as they did not think they had enough money to raise him, which led Magister Wheels to convince them to give him to her. Ultimately, they decided to keep him. Dead set on having Pierce to herself, she brought the Valdeses and their other teammates, the Waynes, on a mission without Trystan's knowledge and set them up to die. She gained custody of Pierce and the Waynes' daughter, Helen. Horrified by Magister Wheels' actions, Trystan went into hiding, prompting the Rooters to issue a galaxy-wide manhunt. Magister Wheels began to raise and train Helen and Pierce.
Bonds[]
She briefly appeared at the end of Thnks fr th Mmrs with Pierce and Magister Wheels after Servantis, a reluctant ally of the Rooters, returned to the Null Void Incarcecon. Magister Wheels informed him that he was being assigned a new job at their headquarters; to oversee the new Amalgam Kids, consisting of Alan, Helen and Pierce.
On the same day, Servantis fused Helen and Pierce with the DNA of a Kineceleran and an unknown species, respectively. He discovered that Helen and Pierce's bodies were filled with microscopic probes, which were all connected. He extracted a probe from Helen's body for further study.
Almost three months later, in Cool Kids, Servantis pitted Helen and Pierce against each other in a training session. After Pierce won, Servantis revealed that the Rooters were sending the Amalgam Kids on their first mission. He later joined Magister Coronach in debriefing the kids about the mission, stating that their objective was to retrieve the Conquest Ray from the leader of the Incurseans, Emperor Milleous. On the way to the space cafe Fllrton where Milleous was having a drink, Pierce confided in Helen, doubting that they would succeed. Servantis interrupted him through comms and assured him that he had the necessary skills to lead the Amalgam Kids to success. He also stated that he would guide them on the mission.
However, as soon as the kids arrived at Fllrton, Servantis muted himself at the request of the Rooters, as they wanted the Amalgam Kids to fail the mission. The kids managed to follow Milleous back to the Incursean ship by disguising themselves as Incurseans with the use of ID masks, at which point the latter ordered to have them seized and removed their masks as he did not fall for the act. Helen used her enhanced speed to bring the team a good distance away from Milleous. Pierce decided to fight off the Incurseans, while Alan and Helen went in separate directions to find the Conquest Ray. Helen eventually found Milleous resting in his room and, during a battle with him, swiped the Conquest Ray (unbeknownst to her, it was actually a decoy) and ran off to find Alan.
After doing so, she went to find Pierce. With little warning, the decoy Conquest Ray exploded, injuring Helen, therefore rendering her unconscious, and destroying some parts of the ship. Pierce arrived at the scene and before long, the kids were surrounded by Milleous, as well as the Incurseans and their commander, Raff. Milleous threatened to kill Helen if Alan and Pierce did not surrender. As soon as they did, Servantis, Magister Wheels and Magister Coronach invaded the ship and brought the kids back to Rooter Headquarters.
Servantis conducted a medical check-up on Helen and gave her a sedative. When Helen regained consciousness, she talked to Pierce, who expressed his doubts about the Amalgam Kids' true purpose and revealed his suspicions about Magister Wheels. Helen still had faith, however, and convinced Pierce to wait for the truth to reveal itself.
Over a year later, in Verge, Servantis informed the Amalgam Kids that their latest mission, which the Rooters had previously stated was important, was canceled. Dissatisfied with the explanation given, the kids decided to snoop around to get answers by disabling the camera in the elevator to access the restricted levels. Helen went to sub-level 3 and overheard Magister Wheels interrogating Trystan. She was detected on camera by Magister Gorvan, and, thinking on her feet, she ran into the room and brought him to her room. After introducing each other, Trystan realized Helen was related to his estranged wife; Magister Wheels. He told Helen about his history with her and how Magister Wheels orchestrated the deaths of her and Pierce's parents to gain custody of them to restart the Amalgam Kids, making Helen grow distraught.
Magister Wheels soon arrived and threatened to kill Trystan with a Techadon Dissipator, but Helen stood in between them, refusing to let him die. However, Magister Wheels was unexpectedly killed by Servantis, who noticed that Helen was in danger. Before she could properly process her emotions, however, she began writhing on the ground in pain. Servantis theorized that the probes had activated because Magister Wheels had died, and wanted Trystan to follow him to the operating room to see if his theory was true. Trystan wished to stay behind as he had broken his leg and couldn't walk. Servantis took off, promising to come back to help him escape. When he reached the operating room, he found Pierce in the same state, with Magister Coronach and Alan accompanying him. He performed a scan on Helen and Pierce's bodies, confirming his theory. He sedated Helen and confessed to killing Magister Wheels to Magister Coronach, who grew furious. Servantis ultimately managed to convince him to help him save Helen and Pierce. Magister Chang and Phil soon found them and demanded to know the truth, but Servantis and Magister Coronach lied.
Magister Gorvan came shortly after that and revealed that he found Magister Wheels' body, and that he killed Trystan. To balance the scales, he intended to kill Servantis and the Amalgam Kids, as he claimed they were of no use because Magister Wheels, who came up with the idea in the first place, was dead. Magister Chang agreed, but Magister Coronach and Phil did not. Phil transformed into his Terroranchula form and trapped Magister Chang in a web before engaging in a battle with Magister Gorvan with Alan's help. This gave Servantis a chance to focus on saving Helen and Pierce. He explained to Magister Coronach that the probes were overloading their pain receptors, killing them slowly. He began writing a program to make the probes attack each other, which proved successful. He persuaded Magister Coronach to set the Amalgam Kids free, admitting that he cared about them and that he did not want them to suffer the same fate as the original Amalgam Kids. Magister Coronach agreed, so Servantis erased almost all of Helen and Pierce's memories, and they were promptly sent to Bellwood. They regained consciousness in the middle of the desert, alone and confused. The only thing they remembered was that they were adopted siblings.
Prior to Protector of the Omniverse[]
Helen and Pierce eventually met Manny and the three formed a team dedicated to fighting crime. However, they had little knowledge of the technology they used, and Pierce was sucked by a Null Void Projector they had confused with a disintegrator weapon. Believing that Pierce was dead, Helen and Manny continued the work, capturing many kinds of aliens they confused for criminals and sending them into the Null Void. Though part of those they captured were DNAlien, most of them were just innocent aliens.
Helen went through some of the same events as her canon equivalent, as depicted in the episodes Plumbers' Helpers, Voided and War of the Worlds: Part 2. Afterwards, she spent several months being trained by Max with the rest of the Plumbers' Helpers.
With Max's help, the Plumbers' Helpers were then made into an official group, consisting of children and teenagers who are too young to be official Plumbers but still wish to help the universe in some way.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a Kineceleran hybrid, Helen possesses powers and appearance similar to XLR8. Her feet end with wheel-like appendices, allowing her to move like a roller skater and giving her incredible speed. She can race up a wall or create miniature tornadoes.
Helen has also learned how to use her speed to her own and her team's advantage beyond the obvious.
Helen is also quite skilled with computers and technology.
Weaknesses[]
Helen has trouble stopping or changing directions if she runs too quickly.[1]
Helen can be rendered unconscious by a Sonorosian's sonic sound waves, and can be blasted back by it.
Relationships[]
Family[]
- Jacelyn Wheels: Helen looked up to Jacelyn even though she was distant and manipulative and doubted Pierce when he told her about his suspicions, believing that she had her reasons for being secretive. - Pierce Wheels: Helen cares about her brother a lot and sees him as a capable leader.
Allies[]
- Alan Albright: Helen is close to Alan and enjoys his company.
Other[]
- Trystan Wheels: In the short time she knew him, Helen felt sorry that Trystan had suffered so much due to his involvement with the Rooters, and was willing to put her life on the line to protect him.
