Grapplight is the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Laritheathian from the planet Theathia, created by SOULARCHER20.

Appearance

Grapplight is a purplish-grey, headless alien who has four legs with four fingered claws and yellow nails on each of them. His limbs are sprawled out, making him appear like a large table, where two bat wings are placed in between them. He has a large gapping mouth at the center of his body, and the Omnitrix is located above it, surrounded by his nostrils. He has five tails, each with a green eye and a rectangular pupil in them.

Powers and Abilities

As his name suggests, Grapplight can act as a grappling hook by extending his tails to great lengths. He does this by wrapping his tails around an object before his body jumps to a desired location, where his claws dig into a surface. This allows Grapplight to reach and carry objects over great distances, as well as stick to a wide variety of surfaces thanks to his claws and the gecko-like ridges in his skin.

Because of the elastic properties in his tails, Grapplight can use them to tie up enemies and even look in multiple directions at once, due to eyes being on them and their ability to swivel around. They are also prehensile and strong, as Grapplight could hold beings as heavy as a Chimera Sui Generis and carry multiple crates. They can also be used to punch enemies.

Grapplight has a long, sticky tongue which has the same properties as his tails, with the eyes being replaced with adhesiveness. In addition to restraining enemies and objects, Grapplight can lash his enemies with his tongue, covering them in his saliva which gives them a trackable scent. He can use this saliva to track enemies with his nose and sensitive tongue.

Grapplight can spit his saliva in the form of a string or small globules. This string can be made into a tripwire and also be used as a rope for climbing, while the globules can bounce of surfaces before exploding, releasing a gooey substance that can be made difficult to remove. These saliva creations will remain intact even if Grapplight turns back into Ben.

He possesses a degree of enhanced strength, enabling him to cling onto surfaces while holding onto a wide variety of objects. He has a degree of enhanced speed thanks to his clawed prehensile legs. He is also capable of standing on his 2 of his legs for a period of time. He also possesses enhanced dexterity that extends throughout his entire body, as he is able to grip onto objects without slipping.

He possesses sharp claws and teeth, which are sharp enough to cause discomfort to a Vaxasaurian. He can also chew a large object and spit it out covered in his saliva, where it would bounce around upon being fired.

Grapplight possesses a degree of durability, as he once acted as a wrecking ball and crashed into an enemy ship seemingly unfazed. He also can charge through multiple enemies at once without losing any speed.

His wings and lightweight body enable him to glide over short distances. He can go further and change direction simply by spitting backwards in the direction opposite to which one he wishes to go to.

Weaknesses

His tails can be used against him, as well as tangled and tied together. His tongue can also be used to his enemies advantage, though it would be difficult as it would only cause them to become stuck in it due to his saliva.

Because of his large eyes, irritants can enter them and temporarily blind him, as well as bright lights.

Grapplight can be entrapped in his own saliva, as well as trip on it. He can also be blinded by his own saliva and unable to remove it due to him not possessing hands.

Because of the unusual way his legs are positioned on his body, Grapplight has a somewhat awkward way of balancing on 2 legs, meaning that an enemy could attack his legs while he is standing on them and cause him to topple.

His saliva can be melted off with high amounts of heat, as well as frozen into a resin-like substance in cold temperatures. When frozen, they are more fragile and easy to break, making him somewhat weaker in arctic regions.

Despite his enhanced durability, he can still feel pain and discomfort, and his lightweight body makes him frail and faint if heavy objects fall on him. Forcefully stretching his tongue can also cause him pain.

Since his wings are quite small, Grapplight is unable to fly as they are built to glide.

While he can track enemies using their scent, stronger smells can cause him to be distracted, making him an inefficient tracker. Some strong smells can even knock him out, such as seafood.

History

• Grapplight first appeared in Web-Cam Hero, where he was used to help Stuart enter Hackattack's lair before saving him from the latter's trap.
• In I Came in And Wrecked Em All..., Grapplight caught a shadow villain but failed to catch Wreckarr.
• In Monstermania, Grapplight defeated the Mutant Pigeon and saved Stuart from a Mutant Dog.
• In The Tenth Predator, Grapplight crashed into Apex's ship before battling Apex himself. He later battled Apex again due to the Omnitrix's Gattling Mode.
• In Stuart 10, Stuart was accidentally turned into Grapplight and made a mess in The Fictioverse, inadvertently revealing his tracking abilities. Later, he was used again to try find Prisoner 1704, but failed.
• In Rise of the Sentiknight, Grapplight and Stuart defeated The Darhkness 3.
• In The Bond Forged From Men, Grapplight battled the Azzimites, but was knocked out.
• In Number 11, Grapplight was used to escape The Great Devourer's larvae and helped Stuart incapacitate the Horsemen. He then tried to attack The Devourer, but failed.
• In Omni-Switched, Grapplight's DNA was accidentally switched with Bombadrag due to a glitch in the Omnitrix. His DNA was returned to normal at the end of the episode.
• In More Than You Can Chew, Ben accidentally turned into Grapplight when trying to turn into Gigobite, but was instead used to track down Glueface.

Etymology

Grapplight is a combination of "Grapple"(because of his powers) and "Sight"(because of his vision and his eyes being on his tails).

• Grapplight's powers are based of the Lariat slug from Slugterra.
• The way he glides by shooting his saliva for propulsion is based of the Elytra's flight mechanics from Minecraft.
• Ben prefers Grapplight for transport, as Constrictaconda is his better fighting alien when compared to Grapplight.
• When Grapplight spits, a spraying sound akin to a water gun is heard upon firing his projectile.
• Grapplight's tails were inspired by one of the custom alien features from the now-discontinued Ben 10 Alien Maker game.
