Fungoids are a humanoid mushroom-like species from Etheria.
Appearance[]
Fungoids are mushroom-like humanoids and are slightly shorter than humans. They are mainly recognizable by their mushroom caps that grow from their heads like hair, but it is possible that they can grow actual body hair such as hair and moustaches. The arms have pores to let biochemical gases escape. Their skin tones range from pale tan and purple to gray.
Behavior[]
They are a people not very inclined to fight. They are known to use their biochemical gases primarily to distract and escape rather than attack.
They tend to build in a rather European style, using stone and wooden bricks and building towers with mushroom-shaped roofs.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Gas Generation: Fungoids have the ability to produce gaseous substances and expel them in the form of gas/spores from the pores on their arms. The strength of these gases depends on the amount expelled.
- Sulfur Dioxide: A highly combustible and toxic gas that can be used as a form of tear gas.
- Nitrous Oxide: Can be used to incapacitate an opponent by making them laugh uncontrollably.
- Sevoflurane: Although it is normally used as an anesthetic, it is also useful as a knockout gas with short-term memory loss as a side effect.
- Hydrogen Chloride: An acidic, corrosive gas that can burn or dissolve solid materials.
- Hydrocyanic acid: A colorless gas with a strong pungent odor that causes eye and respiratory irritation, as well as toxic systemic effects.
- Regeneration: Fungoids’ body will regrow severed or damaged limbs instantly.
Weaknesses[]
- Gas Generation Limit: Unlike Panciamarcia's species, a single Fungoid is capable of generating only a single type of gas.
- Water: Fungoids’ spores can easily be washed off with water, getting rid of its effects.
- Fire: Due to their plant physiology, Fungoids are extremely weak to fire.
- Cold Temperatures: Being plant-based alien, Fungoids are particularly sensitive to extremely cold temperatures. Unless they is given an energy source, they will quickly dry up, wilt, and perish.
- Fragile Body: Fungoids are quite small and aren't suitable for hand-to-hand combat.
Notable Fungoids[]
- Divertungo (the Omnitrix's DNA sample of a Fungoid)
- Inhabitants of Erelandia
- Mushroom Man
- Female Shop Keeper
Etymology[]
The name comes from the Italian term "Fungòide" which means "Having the appearance of a mushroom, or having a relationship with a mushroom".
Trivia[]
- Fungoids are the union of Funguy and the Mushroomfolk from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
