Plot[]
A massive brown warship attacks a much smaller teal ship, each firing lasers at the other.
Inside the brown ship, a skeletal humanoid is controlling it, from a very extensive holographic touchpad before turning to a cylindrical dome, placing his hand on it, bowing to the wall before speaking.
“...Hull damage is at 20 percent, weapons still operational. Shall we proceed with acquiring the Omnitrix?” The alien said, to no response, “Drones, our lord has come too far to be denied, no being in this universe shall stand in our way!”
Meanwhile, two time travelers were inside the Chimeran Hammer as well, Professor Paradox and a 16-year old Ben Tennyson, although unlike most incarnations, this one wasn't used to the Omnitrix.
"We're on a spaceship! In space!" He held his face to the glass.
"Yes, Benjamin, that tends to be where spaceships are located. Although this one finds itself crashing into this Earth rather often."
"It does wha- forget it."
"Currently, this is the trunk of all the 'Ben realities', everything will emerge from here, just as long as we make sure everything goes correctly."
"By making sure I... I mean, he... finds the Omnitrix?"
"That is correct."
"Well, I suppose its time to take this thing for a test drive!" Ben begins working his new Omnitrix, bequeathed to him by the exact Ben he was about to save, turning into...
"Chromastone? Don't tell me you intend to..."
"I'm gonna make Vilgax wish he had never been born... er... hatched?"
"I'd recommend just melting part of their controls, we can't harm the timeline too much."
Paradox brought the two to the perfect angle to knock out the shields with an ultraviolet blast, the only problem was...
"Uh oh." Ben looked over to see that he made too much of a scene, placing him in the thick of the room, "Hello there?"
The warship blasts through the teal ship’s hull as the ship fires back knocking the lieutenant of the ship on his back and sending Chromastone out of the ship, crawling towards the holo-board firing a blast in response that destroys the teal ship forcing the occupant to jettison a pod.
"We'll alter the course of the Omnitrix manually!" Paradox grabbed Chromastone's Omnitrix symbol, changing him to a pill-bug like alien, "Roll up tight, this one will be a doozy."
"Wait we're in space, how are you talking to meeEEEEEEEEE-!"
Paradox then fired a blast from his gauntlet hand blasted the rolled up Cannonbolt, hurling him towards earth.
Meanwhile, Ben, well, ten year old Ben, had his hands in his pockets, looking up to the sky, seeing a meteor.
“Whoa! A shooting star!” Ben began running towards it, “I wish my cousin weren’t such a doo…fuss…”
As Ben spoke, the meteor changed directions, going straight to Ben who barely dodged, putting his head down as smoke and debris went everywhere. When he looked up, he saw a short green flash, but when he went over to get a closer look, he lost his balance (helped in part by his alternate counterpart's Armodrillo transformation), falling into the crater that the “meteor” made, causing him to roll in its general direction.
When he woke up… When he woke up? Was he unconscious? Even weirder there was suddenly a device on his wrist and he was still lying in the crater, it was cylindrical and looked like…
“...A watch?” Ben asked himself, as if he’d get some kind of answer, “Wait, I gotta get this thing off!”
Ben tried his best to pull the device off, with his hand, with a tree branch he pulled off, with his… teeth. The mind of a ten year old is bizarre. Seeing that nothing so far has worked, he just decides to fumble with the device, he ends up hitting a button as the faceplate of the device sprung up with its green hourglass symbol becoming a diamond to show a black silhouette.
Ben decides against any bit of common sense, to press the faceplate down as his arm is slowly covered over by crimson rocks, they progressively go up his body, eventually once was fully coated, they began to thin out, showing magma underneath, revealing him as a flaming rock monster, ending the transformation with a glow from the hourglass symbol on his chest.
“Aah! Aaah! I’m on fire! I’m on fire!” The monster began screaming, hopping around on his feet as if that would somehow do anything before eventually calming down, “Who am I kidding, I’ve always been a hottie. Besides, I’m okay. Wait… does that mean…”
Taking a second to snicker at his own joke, Ben looked around, noticing a tree, pointing his palm at it before slinging a fireball towards it which blew a branch off. He began to do the same to some other trees before spinning around and flinging several fireballs into the air, all of them exploding into a message saying “Ben Rox!”
“...And now it’s time to sit back and watch the… fire…works-.” Ben joked, before seeing sparks and rays of stray fire fall down towards the trees, catching them on fire, “Wait! Stop!”
Attempting to stomp them out obviously just made more fire, go figure. Ben’s smile drops as he realizes…
“Oh man, I am so going to get busted for this.”
"So... should I... do something?" The older Ben asked Paradox.
"Believe it or not. This is supposed to happen. Now, things may change, however our work is done, but his has just begun."
With that, the two left the scene.
Gwen, Ben's more responsible cousin, begins putting out fires until she notices Ben, puts him out too and gasps when he puts his flames back on.
“Look, I know this looks weird but I can explain-.” Ben attempted to speak but Gwen immediately knocks him upside the head with the extinguisher.
“I don’t know what you are, but you’ll stay down if you know what’s good for you!” She said, getting the extinguisher ready again, “Wait… did you make that firework thing?”
“I mean, I was gonna make it ‘Ben Tennyson Rox, Gwen Tennyson Sux’ but that would be too on the nose.” Ben joked, “Rocks and sucks with an ‘x’ by the way.”
“Gwen, are you alright? What in the blazes!” Max ran in, also about to spray Ben before he quickly explained what had happened with the meteor and that he was actually Ben.
“What do we do about the major fire!” Ben asked, looking around, trying to figure out something he can do.
“Backfire. Start a new fire and let it burn into the old fire which snuffs both out. Are you up for it, Ben?” Max explained after pondering for a moment.
“Shooting flames? I can definitely do.” Ben smirked, running out with the other two as he shot some flames at a few trees letting the fire burn out, just as Grandpa Max said.
Meanwhile, off in space, the pod the lieutenant was talking to had finally opened, showing a squid creature floating in seemingly suspended animation until he spoke.
“You mean to tell me that you not only failed to recover the Omnitrix, but you also lost track of it? And what of the Crystalsapien?” The creature interrogated his crew.
“Well, you see, we do know where it is, it landed on Earth, er… I believe they refer to the location as ‘Yosemite’ according to satellite footage.” An android explained, taking the place of the previous lieutenant.
“Send a drone to retrieve it for me, I will have the Omnitrix no matter the cost!” He yelled as a tall, humanoid three legged drone stepped out of the shadows before being sent to Earth.
“Do you think Ben’ll stay as this weird… monster thing forever?” Gwen asked, showing an actual sense of concern for her cousin.
“It’s not a monster. It’s an alien.” Max sternly corrected before softening up when the two stared at him, confused, “I mean… look at him!”
Suddenly, the symbol on Ben’s chest begins to beep red before Ben returns to human form in a bright red flash, almost blinding the two.
“Ben, don’t fool around with that thing until I get back, I need to check the crash site.” Max said, walking away as the kids went back to the campsite.
A pod landed deep into the woods, it turned into the previous humanoid drone, disintegrating the pod at the crash site before releasing two smaller flying drones that searched the forest. Ben was busy fiddling with the Omnitrix with Gwen watching over him.
“What else does this thing do…” He pondered.
“Grandpa said not to mess with that thing.”
“You’re not curious about what else I can do with this? I mean, I can really help people. Really, really help them.”
“Like Captain Nemesis or Kangaroo Commando? Besides, how are you gonna do it when you don’t even know how to work that thing?”
“Not like you know how to either!”
Ben continued fidgeting despite Gwen’s complaints as the faceplate went back up again, showing a new silhouette, he turned the dial, another one, and another one. He finally settled on the smallest one, as his body shrunk down, his skin turning yellow, a large branch like antenna sprouted from his head as his legs and arms split into six stick legs.
“How does it even feel in the first place, going alien?” Gwen inquisitively looked over Ben’s shoulder from a safe enough distance to not have to smell Ben.
“It's like I’m me but… I’m not me?” Ben tried his best to answer the question.
He began to look at himself, standing up on the back four legs for a moment to examine his body before noticing a fly that he easily caught out of the air.
“Gross! Bug versus bug!” Gwen yelled, jumping back.
“What are you afraid I’ll ‘crawl up into your hair’?”
Ben began to scuttle over to his cousin who backed away further causing Ben to laugh at her before running into the forest.
"Ben! What are you doing! Get back here, I'm gonna tell Grandpa you turned into a weird bug thing and ran into the forest when he said not to-! This is going to be a long summer…"
As Gwen chased her cousin, Max was examining the remains of the crash site rather intently.
"I don't like this, not one bit…"
Gwen was beginning to catch up to Ben who looked back, about to blow raspberries when he ended up spitting out a green ball of slime that sat on the ground.
"What even is that?" The two asked at the same time as Ben inspected the slime closer.
"That came out of me?” Ben continued examining the ball.
Suddenly, a drone began to fire lasers at the two, startling them as Ben leapt onto his ball as the two began to run away, well, Gwen was running and Ben was trying his best to balance on his slime ball which seemed to be growing as it absorbed materials on the forest floor.
"What are you doing, doofus! Ditch the ball!" Gwen yelled, ducking as the drone attempted to slice through them.
Ben immediately hopped off, kicking the ball with his hind legs sending it flying at the drone, exploding on impact which took out the drone.
"Yeah! Eat sticky gummy bomb thing!" Ben triumphantly shouted, before seeing the Omnitrix faceplate flash red, returning him to human.
The two were about to celebrate when they saw yet another drone coming their way. After several attempts to dodge it, Gwen picked up some of the previous drone's weapons to fight off the drone by stabbing it straight through the lens it was using to track their movements before destroying the actual drone with a shovel she brought.
"I never thought I'd say this, but man am I glad to see you."
"Well, now you owe me one."
"Whatever." Ben rolled his eyes before he noticed the drone was starting to explode and they began running away back to the RV where they found Max.
"I was worried you'd get popular with that thing on your wrist. That's why I told you not to fool around with it. Not until we know what it does."
"Well now Gwen and I know how it works. You press this button. Then, when the ring pops up, just twist it until you see the guy you want to be. Slam it down and boom, one of ten super-cool alien heroes! I can save people, Grandpa!"
Immediately, as if on cue, a radio broadcast from the park rangers came on, "Mayday! Mayday! We're under attack by some sort of, I know nobody's going to believe me, but… robot!"
"Sounds like one of those things that attacked me earlier, it must be after the watch! I can help them, they're in this situation because of me!"
"What's plain old Ben Tennyson gonna do about it, isn't the watch still charging?" Gwen jeered.
Ben looked at his Omnitrix as it went from red to green, "Who said I was going as 'plain old Ben Tennyson'?"
The three began to drive off through the woods to the location as Ben primed the dial of the Omnitrix, going through holograms of several aliens.
"Eenie, meenie, minie…" Ben spoke to himself as the Rust Bucket stopped just by the site of the gigantic robot, "...Here goes!"
Ben pressed down the Omnitrix, his skin turned into an indigo rock from the top of his hands upwards as magenta crystals forced their way through the skin with his eyes merging to become one singular eye, two crystals from his lower arm and more from his chest and shoulders emerged, his fingers were made from the same crystal as the Omnitrix rested on his chest, completing the transformation.
"I don't know what this guy does, but I bet it's gonna be cool!" Ben said in a very scratchy, almost auto-tuned voice, clenching his fists before running out onto the scene, "That must be papa-robot, I'll take down the bucket o' bolts, you guys keep the campers out of harm's way."
The robot continued to raze the area with lasers, destroying several RVs before picking up a civilian with its clawed hand.
"Hey, gearhead! Why don't you crush someone in your league instead!" Ben scoffed, as the robot began scanning him, finding the Omnitrix which led to it firing a blast at the boy who tried to put his arm up to guard the hit, standing his ground as the laser seemed to go inside him as the crystal alien glew. Ben took a second to try and congratulate himself but the robot jumped into the air, spinning its legs before slamming down on him.
"When I said… crush… I was joking!"
Gwen and Max are helping civilians and rangers escape from the carnage of the fight, barely escaping Ben being tossed at them, landing in a pickup truck as he groggily climbed out of it.
Ben began blocking laser after laser until one of them ended up redirecting through him, blasting through a tree, said tree was about to fall into Gwen prompting him to spring into action, sliding in front of it, grabbing it to hold it up before melting the tree as his hands glew with rainbow energy.
"I think this means you owe me now." Ben joked, before pointing to a safe place for Gwen to run to as he sprinted back into the fight to stop a laser about to hit more civilians, absorbing it, "I'm… getting the hang of this! What comes around… goes around!"
He began to point his right palm out as he fired a rainbow energy blast across the ground, being unable to properly see where he was trying to hit as he changed directions until he cleaved through the robot entirely.
He wanted to celebrate as everyone cheered him on, Max had almost accidentally revealed his identity to everyone while doing so but managed to make a save but he was exhausted and just fell to his knees until the Omnitrix began beeping and so he started running away.
In space, the squid alien is still healing, he's horribly emaciated, he had just found out what had happened to his drones, cursing the name of that puny creature keeping the Omnitrix from him, whoever he was.
It was the next day, Max and Gwen are looking for Ben.
"Do you know where Ben is? I haven't seen him since breakfast." Max asked, pondering to which Gwen simply shrugged.
Suddenly, a blue-skinned armored velociraptor alien showed up in a blur, kicking up a large amount of dust as it came to a stop, letting its visor retract, he then began unloading the camping equipment before going back, revealing the Omnitrix symbol on his chest, blinking red before returning him to human.
"Sorry, had to take care of some… errands before this trip really got rolling."

- The Beginning of this Episode is based on “And Then There Was Ben”, and we’ll be coming back to this later, originally it was based on "A New Dawn" but I figured this would make more sense.
- This episode airs on of course, the same date as “And Then There Were 10” was first teased, making this episode come out on Ben 10’s 17th Anniversary
