The Moon in Omniverse
The Moon is the Earth's only natural satellite. It has a rotation around the Earth and is the second most luminous object in Earth's sky besides the Sun.
History[]
Apollo 11[]
Apollo 11 was a spaceflight that landed the first Humans on the Moon in 1969. In Merritt Island, Florida, on July 16th, NASA launched Apollo 11 from a Saturn V Rocket. It had taken them three days to reach lunar orbit. While being on a live broadcast to a world-wide audience, Neil Armstrong had made the first known steps on the Moon. That is when he made the well known statement, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind".
Species[]
As of yet, there is no sign of evidence of any life forms that inhabit the Moon. The first species to step foot on the Moon, according to History, were Human Beings but they do not inhabit the Moon just visit for scientific purposes.

Geography[]
The Moon has a geochemically distinct crust, mantle and core. It has a solid iron-rich inner core and a outer core made of liquid iron. Around the core, it has a molten layer. The Moon's surface has many craters and impact basins. Because of its rotation around the Earth, The Moon has tidal effects on the Earth.
