Elijah Nelson is a character in Omnivoyage: The Rise of the Tenth.
Appearance[]
As human, Elijah has light skin and dark hair. He also wears a blue shirt, red flannel overshirt, and black pants.
As Diamondhead, Elijah's body is composed entirely of pale green/blue crystals, which are of a very tough and durable diamond-like substance. He sports four crystal shards on his back and has a sharp head. He had yellow eyes and wore a sleeveless uniform which is blue with red on the top half. He also wears a blue bandana.
Personality[]
Elijah Nelson is the calm amidst chaos. Unlike some of his more emotionally charged siblings, Elijah often acts as the rational anchor of the team. His Diamondhead form isn’t just symbolic—it mirrors his mindset: durable under pressure, sharp in thought, and capable of adapting under threat. He doesn’t rush into decisions, instead favoring analysis and strategy over brute force or emotion.
He has a strong sense of duty and protection, especially toward his younger siblings and the mission at hand. He’s not the loudest voice in the room, but when he speaks, people listen. Elijah is highly intelligent and observant, often noticing details others miss. He's also very calculating in battle, preferring precision over brute force, and has a knack for finding the enemy’s weak point—both literally and psychologically.
However, his serious demeanor sometimes causes friction, especially with more impulsive personalities. While he can come off as cold or overly focused, deep down Elijah is deeply loyal and carries a quiet love for his family and team. He values order, justice, and responsibility—perhaps too much at times—and this can lead to internal conflict when missions go sideways or when loved ones are in danger. Despite his kind attitude, Elijah is subject to getting frustrated when faced with someone who is incompetent or incapable of performing a certain act. Although, he always tries to keep someone with a lack of intelligence or experience safe, no matter how uninformed they may be.
Elijah can be highly distrustful of those he doesn't know. He tries to keep his cards close to his chest and he is shown to rarely reveal his true emotions or intentions to others, including his own family. While not emotionless, Elijah doesn’t let his feelings cloud his judgment. He often plays mediator in arguments, especially when tension runs high among the team. His presence commands a subtle authority—not out of dominance, but from trust earned through consistency and loyalty. Elijah is a reliable second-in-command figure when Matt and Ben aren't around. He’s not seeking the spotlight but earns respect through reliability. Others turn to him when they need a stable hand or a thoughtful plan.
Strengths[]
Strategic Thinking - Elijah isn’t just powerful—he’s smart about when and how to use that power. He reads the battlefield like a chessboard and adjusts quickly.
Emotional Stability - While others panic or get reckless, Elijah keeps his cool. His calm demeanor helps ground the team in chaotic moments.
Loyalty to Team and Family - Elijah puts others before himself, especially his siblings. He’s someone people can rely on, even when everything is falling apart.
Resilience - Whether it’s a brutal fight or a moral dilemma, Elijah doesn't back down. His emotional and physical endurance keeps him standing when others falter.
High Moral Compass - He does what’s right, even when it’s difficult. He’s not easily corrupted, and he speaks up when something crosses a line—even to leaders like Matt or Ben.
Weaknesses[]
Bottled-Up Emotions - Elijah rarely shows when he’s hurting or stressed. This emotional restraint can build up and explode when he least expects it.
Overprotectiveness - He tends to hover over his siblings or try to shield others, sometimes to the point of not letting them grow or take risks.
Trust Issues with Outsiders - Elijah is slow to trust new team members or anyone who’s previously made a mistake. This cautiousness can delay teamwork.
Reluctance to Ask for Help - He takes on too much responsibility alone and resists reaching out, even when he needs support.
Rigid Decision-Making - His moral clarity can sometimes make him inflexible. He struggles with gray areas or morally complex decisions, especially in warzones.
