Doodlebug is an alien used by Ben Tennyson using the Unlimited Omnitrix. He appears in Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood and originates from the Friendship is Magic universe.
Appearance[]
In appearance Doodlebug is almost exactly identical to Queen Chrysalis. He is a monstruous horse-like creature with a black exoskeleton riddled with holes through his body. His long mane is a dark bluish colour and he has a long crooked black horn.
Doodlebug's dialogue is stylised like that of all characters from the FiM universe. Doodlebug talks in blue-green text, although this changes based on who he is disguised as.
Powers and Abilities[]
Doodlebug's primary ability is the use of magic in order to disguise himself as other creatures. Though this ability is primarily used to imitate other ponies, it can extend to altering the physical self as well as shown when Doodlebug put a hole through his own torso to survive an attack from Diamondhead.
Doodlebug's secondary ability is love empowerment. He becomes much stronger when someone nearby is in love with the person he is disguised as, with the strength of that affection determining the extent of Doodlebug's power boost. Unbeknownst to Ben- or even the Changelings themselves at this point in their history- actual friendship with Doodlebug himself would be much stronger, and love or friendship originating from another Changeling can initiate a feedback loop that would cause them both to undergo metamorphosis.
Doodlebug is capable of using Equestrian Magic, a powerful and varied form of magic that is rarely used offensively but is devastating when it is.
Doodlebug has lace wings and can fly.
Weaknesses[]
Anything capable of nullifying magic is capable of nullifying Doodlebug's shapeshifting.
History[]
Doodlebug was first unlocked when the Unlimited Omnitrix scanned Queen Chrysalis in Death in the Everfree. He was first used later in that same episode to impersonate Queen Chrysalis via the use of time travel in order to avoid her death at Ben's own hands. He disguised both as Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadance in order to achieve this.
Doodlebug was used again in Ghost in the Dream, as Ben contemplated hiding in Equestria and putting his attempts at heroics behind him. He remained as Doodlebug all through the night and only reverted after he had woken up. He first used his magic to get rid of the lunar dust that had accumulated all over him.
