Details
Voice Actor Eric Bauza
First Appearance The Monster

Diamondhead is the Omnitrix and Infinimatrix's DNA sample of a Petrosapien from the planet Petropia in Ben 10: Missing Pieces and Ben 10: Protector of the Omniverse. He is the Timeline 1 equivalent of the canon Diamondhead.

Appearance[]

In The Monster, 10-year-old Diamondhead had his original series appearance, but his eyes were green and his Omnitrix symbol was recolored black and green.

In Protector of the Omniverse, 19-year-old Diamondhead has his reboot appearance, but the top part of his outfit is white and the yellow stripe is green. He has a different leg structure. His eyes are green, and the Infinimatrix symbol is recolored black and green.

His colors match the color palette of Heroes United.

Transformation Sequence[]

Ben slams down the Infinimatrix's dial and is engulfed in a green light.

Ben hovers in a dark green background, with light green bubbles pulsating rapidly behind him, as he crouches down. His skeletal structure increases, with him becoming taller and more muscular. Pale green crystals start developing on his arms and torso, before completely covering him from head to toe. Two large shards emerge from his back, along with two smaller ones on his lower back. His lower jaw becomes wider, with a shard protrusion growing on the back of his head. The crystal around his shoulders slightly tilts up and his elbows grow crystal spikes. A sleeveless bodysuit forms around him, with a green V-shaped stripe. The part above the stripe is colored white, while the lower part is black, with the boots having a white trim. Diamondhead opens his green glowing eyes, which have a crystal texture, as the Infinimatrix symbol pops out of his chest. Diamondhead smiles and puts his arms at his sides, striking a confident heroic pose, completing the transformation.

Powers and Abilities[]

Diamondhead's body is composed of extremely thick, pale green silicon crystals. He has the ability to manipulate the structure of his physiology at will, allowing him to form his limbs into crystalline weapons such as blades and bludgeons. Moreover, he can control all the crystals he generates, to the point that he can make them explode on contact or levitate them off the ground by controlling microscopic mineral particles in the air. He can fire crystal shards sequentially out of the palms of his hands as projectiles, or morph his entire hands into spikes for easier firing. Diamondhead can also make additional crystal constructs grow out from his body and limbs, and then retract; fast enough to break out of the grip of a being multiple times his size, strong enough to dig into the ground, and sharp enough to slice a falling tree cleanly in half. He can also create crystals immune to sound attacks.

Diamondhead can cause crystal formations to grow rapidly from underneath the ground and erupt to the surface, even at a distance. Using either this method, or by firing crystal shards that grow into which, he can conjure monstrous and large clusters of crystals in the form of walls, shields, ramps, or giant gaping hands to capture enemies; all of which are independent from his body. Being that he can grow these with great speed, Diamondhead can stand on his emerging crystals as he creates them to launch himself in the air, or to ride on like a board.

Diamondhead is capable of encasing enemies in crystals, and can create crystals inside of objects and cause them to spike out.

Diamondhead can also change the shape and size of his arms and hands, without forming more crystals on top. He can extend his arms very far, which allows him to create ramps for others or to propel himself upwards by pushing against the ground. He can also easily regenerate broken pieces of his body, but to a limited extent.

Apart from just forming weapons attached to his body, Diamondhead can also create independent, fully-formed crystal objects, such as an anchor on a chain, a shield, and a sword.

Diamondhead's crystalline body resembles a living prism, allowing him to deflect and absorb most energy beams up to and including the full energy of an orbital plasma cannon. This allows him to render weapons similar to lasers useless by simply refracting. Similarly, rays generated by dimensional transporter devices will reflect off of Diamondhead's body. However, there is a limit to the amount of energy he can absorb.

Diamondhead has inhuman physical abilities.

Diamondhead is quite strong. He can also dig very well into solid surfaces such as the floor of a building by turning his arms into sharp spikes to pierce the ground.

Due to the natural density of crystal, Diamondhead is extremely durable to most weaponry and physical impacts. Diamondhead can also survive in the vacuum of space.

Diamondhead can breathe underwater.

Diamondhead can quickly burrow through the ground.

Because he is made out of crystals, and diamonds age very slowly, Diamondhead's body is effectively immune to time rays that accelerate his aging.

Because Diamondhead is a super dense silicon-based alien, he is immune to Xenocite possession.

Diamondhead is resistant to fire and heat, such as that generated by a Pyronite, much like an ordinary diamond.

If under the effects of a cold virus, Diamondhead is able to sneeze out tiny sharp crystals from his mouth. It is unknown if he can do this when he is not sick, however.

Weaknesses[]

Diamondhead is especially weak to sonic vibrations, such as a Loboan's sonic howls. This scenario can render him unconscious.

If Diamondhead's body becomes completely disassembled, he is unable able to regenerate himself.

Diamondhead's crystals' resistance to fire reduce significantly based on the size of the crystal.

The two shards on Diamondhead's back can also leave him stuck on a wall or on other surfaces that he gets knocked into.

Diamondhead can be trapped in crystal.

Diamondhead can be affected by the cold virus.

Despite being immune to effects of aging time rays, Diamondhead can still be affected by other types of time rays, transforming him back to Ben and temporarily immobilizing him.

Trivia[]

  • Credit to Echoson for the infobox image and the third image in the gallery, and Nitracity, PokeRob and ChromastoneandTabby, respectively, for the first, second and third images in the gallery.
  • Due to the events of The Secret of Chromastone not occurring in this timeline, Diamondhead and Tetrax are the only Petrosapiens alive.
  • In Timeline 1 of Earth-50, certain Petrosapiens may inherit Crystalsapien features as it is a recessive trait. Diamondhead does not have any Crystalsapien features as his DNA donor did not inherit any of them.
  • Diamondhead makes a crystalline metallic sound every time he moves.
  • Diamondhead was named by Max in And Then There Were 10.
  • Diamondhead has been Ben's favorite alien since he was 16.
