Despondos is an alternate dimension that is not part of the universe. It is the dimension that Etheria was located in until the end of Season 4 of Ultimate Princesses of Power Alien.
Accessibility[]
Access to Despondos is generally gained through use of the power of the Heart of Etheria. However, this may only be achievable when the planet is balanced with all the elemental princesses attuned to their runestones while She-Ra and Infinite wield the Sword of Protection and the Bracelet of Infinity.
There are naturally occurring "soft spots" in the cosmos leading into the Despondos, but they normally don't lead back out.

It is not known how, but at some point the Eternians discovered the dimension of Despondos.
Escape from the universe of Etheria[]
Following Aron's failed Coup, Mara harnessed the magic of the Heart of Etheria to send Etheria and its moons to Despondos to protect the rest of the universe from the Eternians' plan.
Hordak's arrival[]
Centuries later, after being sent on a suicide mission by Horde Prime, Hordak fell through a portal and landed on Etheria.
The new She-Ra[]
A few decades later, Light Hope opened a portal to bring little Adora to Etheria so that she would one day become the new She-Ra.

Despondos is described as a dimension "emptier than the Null Void". It has no stars, planets, moons or other space objects. It is also difficult (if not impossible) to detect from the outside, as both the Eternians and Horde Prime were unable to locate Etheria while she was inside, until the Heart of Etheria was nearly activated during the portal events, releasing an energy signature large enough to be tracked.
