“ | This may be the most powerful watch in the whole omniverse now. So, keep it safe from others. If they get it, they can rule a whole multiverse! | ” |
–Henry Walker, The Multiverse |
The Cosmos Multimatrix, better known as the Multitrix, is a watch-like device created by Henry's 19-year-old self that was given to Henry before teleporting him to the Multiverse and is one of the two devices that the franchise revolves around. The device is a portable library of interdimensional genetic data that allows the wielder to alter their DNA at will and transform into a variety of different alien species, each with their own unique abilities.
The Multitrix currently has 228,992,673 aliens from 44 multiverses, but only the maximum of 18 can be used from the active playlist (The active playlist can have less than 18 but more then 8)
The Multitrix was destroyed in The End Of An Era and replaced with its Advanced counterpart.
Appearance[]
In its first form, the Multitrix looked like a watch, primarily light blue, blue and yellow in color, with a grey (or black) dial in the middle (like a watch face) which had an orange four-pointed star shape on it. When Henry selected his aliens, it showed the alien's silhouette.
The prototype Multitrix in Ben 10: Multiverse and Omniverse flashbacks looks the same as that of the original series, except it has two buttons instead of one and the star symbol on Henry's transformations is now orange instead of white, due to the removal of the scratch guard.
After recalibrating (off-screen), the face of the dial became black (or grey, instead) and blue. The inside of the hourglass symbol glowed in different colours during certain moments; these colours signify the mode that the Multitrix was presently in. When Henry is selecting his aliens it shows the alien's silhouette hologram on the core rather than only the alien's silhouette.
Purpose[]
The Multitrix was created by Henry Walker to experience other creature lifes, and also to camouflage through an secured system.
To the rest of the universe, the Multitrix had a two-fold purpose. One was to promote inter-species understanding by allowing other beings to experience different ways of life. The other was to function as a repository for the DNA of over a hundred million different species that Walker thinks are intelligent. This collection of DNA is then preserved in the event that any of species catalogued should ever be rendered extinct, allowing the Multitrix to restore them to life.
Known Users[]

Modes[]
Active Mode is the Multitrix's default mode. The actual usage time is 30 minutes at a time, althrough the user could transform back immediately using Voice Command. If he changes from one form to another, the combined time for the changes can be no more than 25 minutes, likely less because of power leakage. Multiple transformations are energy-intensive and deplete the watch's power supply more quickly than single transformations. Three or four transformations would leave him with substantially less than a combined 30 minutes of time. The Multitrix seems to time out sooner if it's taxed by activities with a lot of moving, like fighting. However, if regular transformations are tampered with, the user can't always turn back.
After the Multitrix recalibrated, the symbols on the aliens were also of the orange color, and located on their chests due to a glitch.
When the Multitrix times out, it goes into Recharge Mode. It takes around 5 minutes to recharge, though it may take more time if tampered with. Recharge Mode's main purpose is to prevent the alien DNA from attaching permanently to its host.
The Multitrix is powered by a special self-renewable power supply that will long outlive Henry.
The Multitrix can instantly recharge to protect the user from a direct physical threat. This was shown when Henry was stuck to a wall about to be killed by Lord Vilgax and when Zs'Skayr tried to possess him. Both times, despite just timing out within a minute earlier, the Multitrix recharges instantly when the user's life is put in direct threat.
If the user is knocked out or hurt enough, the Multitrix will revert them to their normal form. (To avoid death in alien form)
The Multitrix can alternatively flash light blue, rather than red, when signalling a time out.
When a new DNA sample has been unlocked or when the Multitrix captures new DNA not present in the DNA storage room, Capture Mode is activated. It can also reclaim lost or removed alien DNA that was in the storage room.
It scans to match the species, then moves the identified species to the active playlist. If it's seen the species before, it does it passively, without Henry actively scanning.
The Multitrix could scan Kevin's mutations, but it was programmed not to.
In Self-Destruct Mode, the Multitrix charges energy while counting down until it explodes. S.D.M. functions as a last resort should the Multitrix fall into the wrong hands. It can be activated by Voice Command. However, It was never exploded.
When in S.D.M. for a few days, the Multitrix can charge enough energy to cause an energy ripple that will destroy the entire universe. While in S.D.M., the Multitrix can send out energy bursts capable of throwing the user through the air.
When the S.D.M. is activated, the Multitrix sends out a signal that any ship can pick up (unless it was activated by Voice Command), such as when Lord Vilgax picked it up with a ship and Carl picked up the signal, likely as a distress signal.
The S.D.M was used and successfully triggered in an attempt to force Lord Vilgax to give it to Henry. Then, Henry deactivates the S.D.M progress later.
The Multitrix begins to recalibrate while selecting a set of new aliens.
The Multitrix makes a beep-like noise, then it changes to a glowing black and blue and morphs into its new shape.
The Multitrix has thousands of different forms (this is to fit different users).
The Multitrix gives its wielder a new set of aliens depending on whether it is a hard or soft reset. (But Henry still can change the aliens active later, which he does)
When hacking the Multitrix and the Omnitrix, Kevin accidentally and briefly reverted the Multitrix to its original appearance before changing it back, which cause the active playlist to reset. Future Henry could also program it to recalibrate remotely.
Features[]
General[]
- The Multitrix mainly allowed for the user to transform into a numerous variety of alien life-forms that are each with their own unique powers and abilities (along with their weaknesses) and in a selection of alien DNA that is in groups of at least 8 and maximum at 18.
- The Multitrix used special Multi-Energy to merge its wearer's DNA with the DNA samples it held to create transformations. Alien DNA is "injected" into the user, meaning they retain the wielder's personality, memories, and consciousness. Because of this, most of the aliens are not full-blown aliens, with the exceptions of Ectonurite, Corruptionsapien (As the fact that it was a hybrid of Celestialsapien, Polymorph and Galvan DNA), Beacontron and Conductoid DNA. The Multitrix could transform the user into another of its own species (only if there's another sample exists).
- In order for the user to change the size, the matter was created from energy or reconstituted to energy as needed.
- The Multitrix had a quick change feature.
- The user could change back by turning the second ring on the dial to the 3 o'clock position. When Henry appeared to be changing mentally, it was just a coincidence. He was out of time and changing anyway.
- Manually touching the Multitrix symbol not only allows the user to immediately transform back to normal but can also be used to change forms while already transformed.
- The Multitrix could alter its size to fit the user's wrist.
- When transformed, the Multitrix protected the user from negative effects, including:
- Being possessed by an Ectonurite.
- Exposure to the dangerous effects of Corrodium.
- Being transformed by Dr. Animo's mutant ray.
- The Multitrix had a built-in energy feedback blast to defend against anyone trying to force it off of its owner.
- Once placed on the wearer, the Multitrix could not be removed by normal physical means.
- The Multitrix could show a database image of all aliens unlocked.
- The Multitrix was able to repair genetic damage, such as turn DNAliens back to normal and remove Xenocites.
- The Multitrix could genetically manipulate DNA or reprogram a species' DNA (like fuse DNA from different species of aliens).
- The Multitrix had a scratch guard that Henry didn't know how to remove. It fell off after Goodbye Ben and Henry.
- The Multitrix changed the aliens' eye color to match the user's eye color, a feature that can be turned off.
- The Multitrix could be synchronized with another Omnitrix core, even without the user's intent.
- The Multitrix was waterproof.
- The Multitrix could replace one of its DNA samples with someone else from the same species.
- The recalibrated Multitrix granted the user full understanding of the aliens' powers upon transforming into them.
- The Multitrix has the ability to redirect scans from inorganic aliens if the power is boosted.
Extensions[]
- The Multitrix had AI (Artificial Intelligence).
- The Multitrix functioned as a GPS.
- The Multitrix could create a hologram map, which is similar to the one in Plumber Badges.
- The Multitrix had a 2-way communication system with Plumber Badges.
- The Multitrix had a built-in Multiversal Translator and could also translate other Earth languages.
- The Multitrix could teleport the user through Future Henry's multiversal teleportation channel.
Color Coding[]
The Multitrix could display ten colors, each meaning something different:
- Orange: Active Mode
- Red: Recharge Mode
- Green: Capture Mode
- Blue: Recalibration Mode
- Purple: Controlled or risk of temporal threat
- Yellow: Self Destruct Mode
- Grey: Inactive Mode
- Black: Stop Mode
- Pink: Under spell effect
- White: Master Control
Display Modes[]
- The Multitrix had two known display modes.
- Black silhouettes of the aliens.
- Black silhouettes holograms of the aliens.
- By changing the settings on the Multitrix, either display modes could have been used with either Omnitrix form.
Clothing[]
- Prior to its recalibration, the Multitrix automatically used the molecules of its wearer's clothes to create coverings for the aliens. This function was lost when the the Multitrix recalibrated; instead, nanomachines broke its wearer's clothes down and stored them until the transformation ended.
Allocation[]
When the user was transformed, an Multitrix symbol appeared on the chest/arm. The symbol was actually the Multitrix itself, appearing in this form because many species don't have wrists. It was put in different places on some aliens in the original series.
- The limited positioning of the symbols was the result of a glitch of the Multitrix.
Voice Command[]
The Multitrix could be controlled by voice, called Voice Command.
- Access Master Control
- Unlocks the Master Control but only works to Future Henry's voice.
- Decouple Multitrix Command Code: 000 - Release Coupling - 0
- Removes the Multitrix.
- Multitrix Self Destruct in (time): Command code: 000 - Destruct - 0
- Activates Self-Destruct Mode.
- Abort Self Destruct Code 10
- Deactivates Self-Destruct Mode.
- Multitrix Reset Code 10
- Activates Reset Mode.
- Multitrix Abort Reset Code 10
- Deactivates Reset Mode.
- Command Function Override Code 10
- Overrides function.
Malfunctions[]
- If the Multitrix's faceplate cover is broken off, the result was DNA hybrids.
- When exposed to electromagnetic interference, the Multitrix could cause unintentional transformations and the Multitrix will be unable to deactivate until the source of the interference is gone.
- This could work in reverse, rapidly changing the user from one form to another until someone/something stops it.
- Technical glitches that would leave all the aliens naked and cold.
- Sometimes the Multitrix would randomly leave the user stuck as an alien for an indefinite amount of time that could only be deactivated by Henry hitting the Multitrix symbol.

Trivia[]
- The Hackersapien were the first species added to the Multitrix, as Walker find him in his garage when he was creating the Multitrix's DNA storage.
- The Multitrix's orange glow is its unique DNA energy signal.
- Henry's transformations happen in an instant. Transformation sequences show it in slow motion.
- The Multitrix was originally intended for Future Henry and was programmed to work for his DNA because Henry is Future Henry's young counterpart, the close genetic match is what allowed him to use it.
- The Multitrix's power source was smaller and more powerful than Sub Energy.
- Originally, the aliens' Multitrix symbols' grey and white coloration in the original series was caused by a malfunction. From a design standpoint it was mostly changed because that's how the recalibration fixed it.
- The Multitrix had technical glitches that would cause random flight and abilities not native to the alien species.
- However, it is unknown if this is canon.
- In Unable To Charge, the recalibrated Multitrix spoke in a voice similar to Henry's, but deeper (As the fact that it wasn't charging). In all following episodes, it spoke in Henry's normal voice.
- The Multitrix's voice-activated self-destruct sequence is the same code from "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" that James T. Kirk used to activate the Enterprise's one minute self-destruct sequence (000 destruct-0).
- The Multitrix used to have yellow colors. However, the crew changed it as it was "too much like a real star".
- The Multitrix was planned in many style and colors, such as a triangle or a silhoutte that changes depending on the user.
