Clamlight is the Omnitrix DNA sample of a Molluctuffin from the planet Tryoesterra, created by SOULARCHER20.

Appearance

Clamlight has the appearance of a large black clam with a green stripe running down the center of his body. He has curvy light-purple lips going around his body, while the inside of his mouth is dark pink and has a similarly coloured tongue where the Omnitrix symbol is located on. He has 5 purple stalks around the top half of his body, each holding his green eyes which take the appearance of bulbs, and he has four purple legs underneath his body with two toes each.

Powers and Abilities

Being a fairly large clam, Clamlight can open up his jaws and bite objects with considerable amounts of force. His jaws are strong enough to bite into Apex's ship, which some of Ben's aliens found extremely difficult to damage. Additionally, the large size of his jaws enables Clamlight to store several objects, including people.

The inside of Clamlight's mouth possesses fire extinguishing capabilities, enough to completely neutralise a Pyronite's flames, meaning that opening his mouth would render him immune to fire. The inside of his mouth can also act as a small prison, trapping anyone inside as it is extremely difficult to force Clamlight's jaws to open. When something is in his mouth, his tongue is sucked into his body, protecting it and the Omnitrix symbol from anyone who intends to exploit it.

Clamlight's eyes are placed on stalks that swivel around, giving him a wider field of vision in multiple directions. Each one can emit a bright light, which can easily blind anyone nearby should all 5 eyes be lit up simultaneously. His eyes also give him a sense of night vision, and can be used as a lure similar to that of an angler fish, which is what his species does to catch prey.

Because of his hard outer shell, Clamlight is extremely durable, and can bash through concrete walls unscathed. The durability of his shell is strong enough to withstand strong water pressure, and can even stuff himself into a large plasma cannon and cause it to backfire while he remains unharmed. He is capable of retracting his eyes and legs into his shell for additional defence, similar to that of a turtle.

Being an amphibious species, Clamlight can survive on both land and in the water. He is also capable of withstanding the radiation of reentering Earth's atmosphere from space if his outer limbs are fully retracted similar to an Arburian Pelarota, showcasing limited survivability in oxygen-less enviroments.

Clamlight possesses a long slippery tongue about three metres long, which he can use to emit a slippery saliva, or as a powerful whip. He can also combine his tongue's abilities to create a slimy whip that can release saliva puddles around an area.

Clamlight is surprisingly fast with his large body and small legs, as he is capable of charging like a bull. He also possesses good reflexes and can make quick turns in order to defend attacks. He can effortlessly scale walls with the added weight of a person seemingly having no effect on him. His shell is covered in a lubricous substance that enables him to slide over smooth surfaces, using his legs to control his trajectory.

In addition to his jaw strength, Clamlight is strong enough to hold a falling pillar using just his legs to support his body. He also can carry a large number of items and people inside of him without any signs of struggle, and can rip off goo that is difficult to remove, showcasing that his feet are prehensile and extremely dexterous.

Clamlight is capable of absorbing the minerals in terrestrial solids (earth, dirt, sand, concrete, etc.) and convert it into a glass-like pearl which he can spit out as a tough projectile equivalent to that of a bullet. To do this, he uses his mouth to scoop up raw materials like a shovel, and curls it into a clear ball, slowly turning it into a pearl. The size of his pearls remain consistent, meaning that Clamlight can scoop up large quantities of matter and create multiple pearls at once.

Some of the ways Clamlight has been showing to use his spheres are as projectiles, obstacles to trip his enemies, and can even light them up, allowing him to brighten a dark area with a light as bright as his eyes. He can also light them up in his mouth, making it seem as if Clamlight is releasing light from his mouth. With enough practice, Clamlight can create more varieties of shapes than just spears such as sharpened shards of glass.

Despite his hard dense body, Clamlight is surprisingly buoyant in the water. This combined with his storage abilities and large size can make Clamlight a makeshift vehicle on land, a boat or a submarine that prevents water from entering his mouth underwater, and can contain people as the are falling in the sky.

Weaknesses

In order to talk, Clamlight's upper body always moves up and down, which may inconvenience him in certain situations, forcing him to refrain from talking. Additionally, whenever his mouth closes, a sound similar to that of hitting a hard wall can be heard, which may give away his location. He also may accidentally bite his tongue while talking, causing him a great deal of pain.

Clamlight's durability is primarily found in his shell, meaning that his eyes, legs and tongue are vulnerable. He usually compensates for this by retracting them into his body in dangerous situations.

While it is difficult to force his mouth to open, it is possible for enemies to keep his mouth completely open or trapped shut through means such as steel clamps or adhesives, though he is capable of fighting back to some extent. Forcing his mouth to widen also causes him to feel some discomfort.

As his tongue is constantly covered in saliva, it makes it difficult for Clamlight to hold objects with it as they would usually slide out. In addition, Clamlight can slip in his own saliva and experience pain if he trips while running. His saliva also doesn't work on certain surfaces such as mud or sand.

Despite his resistance to heat, there is a limit to how much Clamlight can withstand. Similarly, he can experience pain from reentering the atmosphere, which may cause him to open up his mouth and scream in pain. This may also be the only way to force his mouth open.

The inside of his mouth has a very unpleasant and fishy smell, which may discomfort those stored within his mouth. Similarly, if he were to burp, he would release a smell that enabled others to find him.

Unless Clamlight retracts his tongue in time, people and items inside his mouth may be covered in his saliva, which is able to be washed off with water easily.

There is a limit to how durable Clamlight's pearls are, as they may break under extreme levels of force, such as the strength of a Vaxasaurian, making them ineffective in tripping the aforementioned species with them since stepping on them could break them.

History

• Clamlight first appeared in Omniorigins, where he was unlocked by Azmuth and used to enter Apex's ship before being trapped to a wall. Later, Clamlight blocked a proton cannon, causing it to backfire and destroy the ship.
• In The Deep Blue, Clamlight blinded the A.I.R. agents and escaped with Maurice in his mouth before the latter used him as a projectile to destroy the A.I.R. ship.

Etymology

Clamlight's name is a combination of "Clam" (referring to his appearance), and "Light" (referring to how he can generate light). His name is also a pun on "Clamp Tight", which is one of his powers.

Trivia

• Clamlight's hologram is the first of Ben's second playlist aliens to be seen.
• Clamlight is somewhat similar to Ball Weevil, as both are capable of collecting matter and energy into spheres which they can use as projectiles. Unlike the latter however, Clamlight needs to consume the materials first before he can convert it as opposed to Ball Weevil who can naturally generate his plasma balls for absorption.
• Molluctuffin feed on Icthorels on their hope planet, making Clamlight the first known predatory species in the Omnitrix.
• Like Petrosapien crystals, Clamlight's glass pearls have no economical value and thus are unable to be sold.
  • Due to this, his species has been hunted for their ability to create these pearls by con artists, who use them to swindle others with the useless fakes. This caused his species to be endangered, with Clamlight being one of the only few remaining.
• A running gag is that sometimes when Clamlight talks, he accidentally bites his long tongue, causing him to feel pain.
