Bevel is a Necrofriggian and a main antagonist in Fen 10: The Kids Are Alright. They were hired by Mr. Haeon to kill Ben Tennyson. They are a resident of the Slayer Dimension.

Appearance[]

Bevel is a Necrofriggian with green eyes and a large old gash on the back of their upper left wing. They wear a utility belt around their waist with their blaster attached underneath their wings, which are always folded around them.

Personality[]

Bevel is very polite and cheerful when not working. They try to be friendly and helpful to everyone they meet.

While working, Bevel acts like a very different person. They are serious and stoic, which is very professional for a bounty hunter. If they had any other job, they would be considered a cold blooded killer for the way they operate. Bevel ingrained this behavior in themself from the start of their career after hearing from other bounty hunters what it took to get the job done and not quit early.

Bevel seems to be very naive, having only been away from home for two years and spending a lot of that time on secluded ships in space. There is very little they know about the galaxy beyond the world of bounty hunters and space travel.

As a result, Bevel has a very black and white world view. To them, anyone who commits a crime of any calibur should be killed for their crime. Any other factors don't matter.

They have also been taught that all information should come at a price or for a fair trade and no work should be done for free. However, Bevel tends to find their own justifications for working for free. Such as to repay a favor or in exchange for Earth candy, which they are obsessed with.

History[]

Background[]

Bevel grew up on Kylmyys, but left when they were eighteen years old. Due to their inability to fly, they had to hitch a ride on a ship that landed on Kylmyys in order to refuel. They agreed to help clean up around the ship in exchange for said ride.

While traveling around the galaxy on different ships, Bevel encountered a bounty hunter who gave them lots of life advice and they became interested in the profession after hearing many stories from the hunter. The hunter decided to give Bevel an old blaster of his that he no longer needed so Bevel could have a head start if they decided to become a hunter as well.

While at a space station in between rides, they took their first bounty and officially started their career as a hunter.

Fen 10: The Kids Are Alright[]

Bevel first appeared at the very end of And Then There Was Sven: Part 2. They were a patron in the Black Hole sitting at the bar when Charmcaster came in, ordered her drink, and subsequently left. The bartender mistook them for Ben due to their green eyes, but Haeon, who was sitting beside them, defended them, claiming they couldn't be 'that neerdowell'. After announcing that they were a bounty hunter, Haeon offered them a job to assassinate Ben 10 and they accepted.

Bevel was seen again in The Incident when they interrupted Miracle-M's attempt at apprehending Bubble Helmet. They tried to kill Bubble Helmet for theft, but Miracle-M stopped them and Bubble Helmet fled. Bevel and Miracle-M had a small argument over morals and whether killing criminals was right or wrong until the woman who Bubble Helmet stole from arrived to retrieve her groceries. She gifted Bevel a bag of candy as thanks and Bevel was excited to eat it, claiming Earth candy was the greatest thing in the galaxy. Miracle-M then realized what time it was and quickly left Bevel to return home.

The next day, they suddenly appeared in Undertown's marketplace attempting to kill Ben, who was there helping Ester run errands. They fought against Ester and Goop before the sight of Ben's human form made them hesitate for an unknown reason. Bevel fled back to Haeon's hideout and Haeon reassured them that no one always accomplishes a job on the first try.

In Chats Don't Last Long Enough, Bevel left Haeon's hideout to stock up on candy and unknowingly bumped into Albedo on the way. They then immediately crossed paths with Miracle-M, who was suspicious that they might be up to something. Bevel assured her they were only on a snack run and asked where they could find Earth candy to buy. Despite her hesitation, Miracle-M escorted them to a candy store.

They both sat together on a roof as Bevel ate some of the candy they bought. Miracle-M asked if they knew anything about a black market for rare alien species and Bevel had suspicions that the ship they came to Earth on might be related. Bevel agreed to return to the ship and do some scouting for her before they parted ways.

Powers and Abilities[]

Being a Necrofriggian, Bevel has all the powers and abilities of other Necrofriggians excluding the ability to fly due to their injured wing.

Bevel has shown they are also a proficient fighter without the use of their powers or weapons. They were able to handle a fight against both Ester and Goop by themself.

They are very skilled at maintaining and upgrading weapons, particularly their personal blaster, which has been entirely rebuilt with custom parts. They have also acquired extensive knowledge on much alien technology as a result.

Not that it serves any real use, but Bevel's time cleaning ships while traveling the galaxy has made them an expert at cleaning quickly and proficiently.

Equipment[]

Bevel carries a blaster handed down to them by the first bounty hunter they met. At this point the blaster has been upgraded so much that it doesn't have any of the original parts left.

Weaknesses[]

Due to the injury on their upper left wing, Bevel has nearly completely lost the ability to fly. Their right wings still work, but unfolding their wings causes constant pain in the injured one and it no longer has any strength in it. It is still possible for Bevel to try flying despite this, but it's too painful to be worth it for them.

Since Bevel has only been on Earth for a short period of time, they are very naive about Earth customs and certain phrases and words. They are also a bit gullible and don't typically consider that they may have been lied to or deceived.

Relationships[]

Mr. Haeon[]

Currently being employed by Haeon, Bevel follows his orders. They believe they are doing good by taking on Haeon's job to kill Ben Tennyson, not realizing that they have been lied to about who Ben is.

Millie[]

Bevel doesn't really think much about Millie aside from viewing her as a well-meaning kid. However, Millie is very uncomfortable with Bevel's disregard for life and attempts at killing petty criminals. They both think the other is kind of weird just based on their first interaction.

Ben Tennyson[]

Bevel believes Haeon's claims that Ben is a menace to Undertown and must be stopped. They view Ben as nothing but a criminal that will net them a hefty reward. However, there is something about the look in Ben's eyes as a human that makes Bevel freeze while on the job.

Etymology[]

Bevel is named after a bevel, the angle that one surface or line makes with another when they are not at right angles.

However, Bevel can also be a variation of the name Beval, meaning 'like the wind'.

Trivia[]

  • They are somewhat nocturnal, usually sleeping during the day, but their sleeping habits tend to fluctuate due to work and travel circumstances.
  • Bevel, as with all Necrofriggians in the Slayer Dimension, appears as the species does in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. The Omniverse appearance of the species does not exist in the Slayer Dimension.
  • They don't care how they are referred to gender wise since they don't really know what it all means in the first place. They don't identify as anything anyway, not even agender.
  • They have become a bit of a neat freak due to all the work they've done cleaning on ships.
  • Bevel named themself after being asked what their name was and picking their favorite word to go by.
    • Bevel is their favorite word because they like the way it sounds and they heard it used in a compliment towards a pilot's spaceship, so they assumed it must mean something nice and positive.
  • According to Bevel, metal is just a Necrofriggian's preferred diet, but they can eat other things too. However, they have a preference for hard foods and don't tend to like the consistency of softer foods. As such, hard candies are the only candy Bevel eats.
