Benjamin Kirby Tennyson, operating under the hero alias Prodigy, is a self-proclaimed hero operating at the Edge of the Omniverse in Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood. He is a Human from an unknown timeline.

Appearance

Prodigy is a 52 year old version of Ben Tennyson. He is physically fit, with tidy brown hair and a beard. He has an Omnitrix-patterned shirt in monochrome colours.

Prodigy wears the Culminatrix, which covers his left arm and right shoulder. These areas are covered in Omnitrix dials.

Personality

Prodigy is a driven and accomplished hero, responsible for saving thousands of lives and building the Last Chance Oasis to house them after the destruction of their universes to the Flesh. He is not shy about his achievements and is constantly searching for new universes to save from the Flesh- and new Omnitrix devices to deny to them.

More importantly, however, is that he is a selfish, thieving, villainous, murderous, egotistical, compulsive liar. He will go to great lengths to acquire new Omnitrixes to assimilate into his Culminatrix. He is no stranger to killing people to take their watches, but it is very important to him that his victims give him their watches willingly.

Powers and Abilities

Prodigy is a very capable Omnitrix wielder, having an extensive knowledge of aliens and transformation techniques. Thanks to his friendship with Kev 'Leven, this also extends to the Unlimited Omnitrix.

Prodigy is the sole wielder of the Culminatrix, an Omnitrix-like device consisting of nearly two dozen stolen Omnitrixes from across the Edge of the Omniverse. This affords him the ability to transform into just about any alien, and combine that alien with any of dozens of transformation techniques.

Prodigy's primary mode of transportation across the Omniverse was the Culminatrix, using 4D2 and its variants. However that alien is no longer available to him.

Biography

Sometime prior to his death, Kev 'Leven had fought alongside Prodigy.

Imminently prior to his appearance in Beyond Bellwood, Prodigy hunted and pursued an alternate version of himself who had invented his own Biomnitrix. Prodigy killed him and took one of the gauntlets, gifting the other one to the newly orphaned Chronospanner.

Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood

Prodigy made his first appearance in the titular episode, Prodigy. He arrived in time to rescue Unlimited Chromastone from the Flesh world using Astrodactyl and Omni-Naut Astrodactyl. He brought the Other Ben to a safe world, where they learned about each other before moving on to the Last Chance Oasis.

After the Flesh followed them into the Last Chance Oasis, Prodigy executed a plan to have his allies killed so that he could rescue Ben and take his Unlimited Omnitrix. However the disillusioned Ben fought him off using Unlimited Wildvine and Prodigy was briefly beaten. Other Ben nearly escaped, but Prodigy chased him down into the abandoned universe and cornered him with All-Out Ditto. Prodigy was defeated by Unlimited Upgrade who deactivated the Culminatrix before stealing 4D2 and making his escape. Prodigy is currently stranded in this dead universe, alone.

Trivia

• Prodigy as a concept was one of the inspirations for Beyond Bellwood to continue past its pilot.
• Prodigy was heavily foreshadowed by Tony Stark in Children of the Flesh.
• Although conceptually similar to Ben X from the reboot movie Alien X-Tinction, Prodigy was actually inspired by some old Omniverse fan art I cannot find.
