First Appearance | Life and Flesh |
Benjamin Tennyson is the main character of Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood. He is a human from the destroyed Earth-CDXI.411 timeline and the current wielder of the Unlimited Omnitrix.
Appearance[]
Ben's appearance is unkempt and scraggy, in large part due to his recent homelessness caused by the destruction of his own timeline.
He is a white human male of average height for a 20 year old. He has a messy brown beard.
He wears a black-and-white T-shirt based on the designs worn by Kev 'Leven and currently wields the Unlimited Omnitrix on his left wrist.
Personality[]
Ben is arrogant and headstrong, neither actively contemptuous or malicious. Yet he is so incapable of introspection that he recognises none of these facts about himself without them being pointed out to him. He was a completely sedimentary person to his own detriment, content with his own life to the point of wanting no one else to be able to move on lest they remove him from his comfort zone.
Still, he tries to do good. He has a natural drive to be a hero in spite of how unprepared he was- mentally and morally- to become one. These issues compound into his self-doubt and diminishing confidence.
Although he has yet to express it, and the full weight of it has yet to dawn on him, Ben is lonely. Everyone he knew and loved is dead. He has yet to be able to make friends on his journey; instead only pushing people away.
Ben has a tendency towards fanaticism, having been an obsessive fan of Kev 'Leven in the way one might be obsessed with Marvel movies or DC comics.
Powers and Abilities[]
Despite only having the Omnitrix for a matter of days, Ben has proven relatively capable and inventive with it although still a novice. Because he was such a great fan of Kev 'Leven prior to gaining the Omnitrix, he is already well aware of a good number of the device's capabilities as well as those of his aliens. Even though he faces great danger, Ben has more than proven capable of taking it head on and has smoothed the steep learning curve of the Omnitrix considerably.
Equipment[]
Unlimited Omnitrix[]
Receiving the Omnitrix was Ben's ultimate fantasy for the last ten years of his life. Now that he has it, he has proven a very capable user of it. This device allows him to scan and become just about any sapient life form and speak any language the device has sufficient understanding of or ability to decipher by approximation and context.

A gift from Professor Paradox, the Chrononavigator is crucial in Ben's navigation of the Edge of the Omniverse. The device also allows him to travel through time- an ability Ben has only made limited use of.
Biography[]
Prior to Beyond Bellwood[]
Ben dropped out of highschool at the age of 16 while he was working at Mr Baumann's store. A few months earlier he had met Ester and began a relationship with her. Their first date was to see the Kev 11 movie 'A Thousand Doors to Death', depicting Kev's prevention of the Highbreed Omnicide.
Their relationship lasted for four years, until Ester dumped him one week prior to the destruction of the Earth-CDXI.411 universe. He assumed this would be temporary but Ester would never have returned even if the universe had not been destroyed. Although he hadn't told her, Ben had also lost his job at Mr Baumann's a week before as well.
Ben 10: Beyond Bellwood[]
Ben first appears in Life and Flesh where he watches Kev 'Leven fight and destroy a Flesh Monstrosity using Thunderplus. When Kev slinked away without any of his typical showmanship, Ben realised something was wrong and followed him into the passageways leading to Undertown. Kev confronted him when he realised he was being followed, and exposited that the universe was about to be destroyed by the Flesh before bestowing Ben with the Unlimited Omnitrix. He then activated the Lifeboat Protocol, forcibly transforming Ben and sending him on a journey across the Edge of the Omniverse. Ben was later rescued by Professor Paradox.
Paradox sent Ben to Equestria in Death in the Everfree in order to help Ben learn how to use the Omnitrix and become the hero the Professor knew he could be. However when Ben murdered Queen Chrysalis and was banished to the moon, Ben and Paradox fell out. Paradox gave Ben the Chrononavigator, and abandoned him. Ben used the Chrononavigator to travel back in time and take Chrysalis' place during the first half of the episode using Doodlebug. He successfully altered events so that his past self never killed anyone, while still appearing to himself like he had.
Now travelling on his own, Ben's first inter-universal trip with the Chrononavigator took him to the Doctor Who universe in the episode The Genocide Gene. He quickly discovered the Daleks, and began helped the Doctor work against them. He completed the Doctor's Anti-Dalek Virus using Gutrot, but secretly looked for a way to save them. From the Doctor's own description he believed them to be like the Highbreed from his own universe. He attempted to repair their genetic structure before he discovered the Flesh on board the space station. The Daleks sided with the Flesh, and Ben had to abandon them to their fate as the station was destroyed. He was horrified to realise he was unable to save Captain Rosemary Salvia, whom he believed was an alternate version of a woman who helped him in another universe in Life and Flesh.
Believing that the colour coding of the Chrononavigator must be meaningless, Ben visited the red "Red Dwarf" universe in Children of the Flesh where he found the titular space ship to be infested with Flesh. Here he met two Flesh Avatars; one of Tony Stark and one of Ester. Fortunately for Ben, Stark's boastful attitude meant he happily told Ben how to use the Unlimited Forms in the Omnitrix, which Ben later went on to use to save the Boys from the Dwarf and defeat both Stark and Ester.
He returned to his banishment on the Moon over Equestria to sleep and contemplate his shortcomings in Ghost in the Dream. He was tortured by nightmares. Although Princess Luna tried to comfort him, he awoke feeling worse than before he slept. His guilt and regret manifested in a Tantabus.
Ben found the green Prime Universe using the Chrononavigator and discovered his missed destiny- that he was supposed to have received the Omnitrix instead of Kev. He also learned how cruel of a person Kev used to be, when Kevin 11 damaged his Omnitrix. Forced to withstand frequent form changes, Ben helped Kevin 11 and Ben Prime escape from Slix Vigma's Megacruiser. Ben 10 managed to escape back to Earth, but Kevin was trapped on the Megacruiser as it jumped onward to another galaxy. Ben, taking the name Other Ben, escaped to what he thought would be another green universe. But his fingers had not pressed where he thought, and he had arrived in a grey and dead universe lost to the Flesh.
