Plot[]
High above the earth, Vilgax's ship, the Chimeran Hammer, floats through space, two Mechadroids were ejected from the hangar, going towards the blue planet. A bioid is monitoring their trajectory and is speaking to a still recovering Vilgax.
"The Mechadroids have launched. Equipped with the improved internal tracking system, they should be able to find and retrieve the Omnitrix."
"Finding it and retrieving it are not one in the same, this is an opponent of extreme danger and resourcefulness." Vilgax labored.
"Then shall... shall I take on the wielder of such a device for you, my lord?" Psyphon's voice came from another pod.
"No... You have an agenda of revenge, a hunter with an agenda has done us no good. Machinery is still our greatest ally."
On Earth, Ben walks through a Gas Station store, his stomach audibly rumbling.
"Boy am I starving..." He looked up, seeing a mound of cookie boxes. He took a box to examine it, causing the pyramid to fall onto Gwen who slowly rose from the pile.
"Way to go, Tennyson..."
They finally exit the store, walking to Grandpa Max who is washing the back window of the Rust Bucket. It appeared someone had written "Wash me! :(" in the window's dust.
"Ben? Nice artwork..." Max noted.
"You know, it makes a statement." Ben said, nodding.
Suddenly, a large armored truck is hit by a laser, blowing up the back and sending fire everywhere.
"Now that would be a statement." Gwen ducked alongside the rest.
Three masked individuals in biker outfits and holding laser rifles all advanced onto the scene, grabbing bags of money from the truck's hole, but were caught by surprise when Humungousaur came rushing in on all fours. He swung his tail around, knocking the running criminals off their feet, getting up to look at Gwen and Max.
"What are you two doing? Go!"
The truck's driver slowly hobbled out, holding his head before seeing Humungousaur and running away.
"Man. Am I really that scary?"
While still distracted, Humungousaur was hit in the shoulder with a laser, he turned around, growling in anger as he began to grow, he then punched the ground, sending a shockwave through the earth, launching the gang members flying, cracking the leaders visor on the ground while the other two were knocked into a truck.
Humungousaur went to remove their masks as well, seeing their faces were all feminine, each wearing lipstick, earrings, and other forms of makeup, their jewelry color-coded.
"You're all... girls? Look, I don't wanna hurt you-."
"Well aren't you just sweet..." The unmasked leader, Rojo said, turning up the power on her rifle, shooting Humungousaur in the side.
"What are you doing? Clobber her!" Gwen said, peeking out from behind a wall to see what was going on before quickly moving away when she was surprised by a new arrival.
Two of Vilgax's Mechadroids flew in and began shooting, and so did the gang in retaliation before dodging alongside Humungousaur in different directions, the truck was destroyed further alongside several gas tanks destroying the gas station and burning most of the gang's money.
"This is our heist! Get your own dough!" Rojo yelled, grabbing stolen money while Humungousaur did his best to fight off the drones.
She pulled up her rifle, ready to get a shot in only to be knocked over by a sprinting Max, whipping her rifle around to knock him off of her.
"You don't get away from me, old man!" She fired a blast at the area around him and Gwen, knocking them both into the air and onto the floor, taking Max out of the fight.
"Grandpa!" Gwen yelled, attempting to check on her grandfather.
Humungousaur just yelled violently, growing to his full size of 50 feet, grabbing both Mechadroids and smooshing them into discs to toss at Rojo, knocking her down before running towards Gwen.
"Ben, we need to call 911-!" Gwen and Max were quickly hoisted onto Humungousaur's back as he continued running at full speed on all fours, beginning to make several leaps across the city towards a hospital.
Rojo began to come to as she looked at the crushed Mechadroids beside her and moved to examine them.
"What in the..."
The Mechadroid suddenly came to life, injecting its "innards" into her neck.
She slowly began to transform, her pant legs ripped apart, her sleeves were ripped open by arm spikes, red glowing veins grew from her arms and legs, the robot finally fell to the floor, crumbling apart.
Several police cars appeared on the scene, brandishing their guns while firefighters worked on... fighting the fire.
"I just wanted a payday... now... freeze." Rojo laughed before firing a salvo of blasts from her shoulders that launched the officers away as she moved to pick up her money and get away.
In the hospital, Ben and Gwen sit attentively in Max's room, getting the news from a doctor.
"For a man his age, he's rather strong. Given some rest, he should be fine. Now, admittance says he was... hit by the bumper of a car?"
"And then the car kept running over him over and over..." Ben quickly continued the lie, smiling until the doctor walked out of the room, turning to his cousin with a frown, then looking to Max.
"Ben, he's going to be fine, he's Grandpa! He's got back up from worse!"
"I can't be worried about my own grandpa?!" Ben held his face in his hands.
"I'm more worried about how you let someone get away with kicking your but just because they're a girl!"
"First of all, I didn't 'let her get away with it', I still beat her! Besides, 'heroes don't hit girls'. It's Good Guy 101."
Gwen immediately shoved him out of his chair to which Ben got up and jabbed her in the shoulder.
"Ow! I thought you just said-!"
"I'm not in 'hero' mode right now."
"Then you don't need to be when you fight her again!"
"I said I wouldn't."
"If it's what works..."
"If doing whatever it takes is the only way to get the job done... maybe I'm not fit to have the Omnitrix,"
"Ben, don't... don't say that-."
"I could use Upgrade and make those machines he's hooked up to help him better. I could... I could use Ghostfreak and meld with him or something."
"Ben, I know this sucks but sometimes things just happen..."
"Then why are you so upset I didn't fight back! If things happen, this is just one of those things!" Ben shouted, finally reaching his breaking point, he rushed out of the room, running down the halls, almost knocking a few people over while all Gwen could bring herself to do was watch.
Meanwhile, Vilgax's workers surveilled Rojo's crime spree with her new abilities, she held up the jewelry she got from a heist, realizing she had crushed several rings, tossing them to the ground in frustration.
"You're useless!" Rojo yelled, stomping on the remains.
"I c-could get you another one..." A terrified shop owner peeked out.
Rojo was about to fire at her until she was stopped by an ear-splitting tone, the tone slowly became a voice, it was Vligax's.
"Listen to me, whoever you are..."
"Hey! Who are you and what are you doing in my head!"
"I am the one asking questions here. In fact, these are not questions, they are demands."
"You must've missed the part where I don't work freelance, so beat it." Rojo was quickly interrupted by the same ear-piercing noise again. She now found herself floating in a vision staring Vilgax down, his giant head looming over her.
"Fulfil what I ask of you, and I will teach you how to use this unimaginable power. Fail me... and I shall turn you into dust!"
"And what you want from me is?"
"A piece of valuable technology, missing from my possession. And luckily for you, you are already programmed to find it."
Rojo looks up, seeing a vision of the Omnitrix, zeroing in on it as she leapt up towards it, breaking through the store's roof, breaking out of the vision and flying away.
Ben has finally made it to the hospital parking lot, he walked to where nobody would see him and activated the Omnitrix, not realizing that this would give Rojo the means to find him. She landed near a cliff, smiling as she shot the peak, sending a landslide of rocks down towards the hospital.
The boy's immediate thought was to turn into Humungousaur to try and hold off the coming avalanche but he ended up transforming into Heatblast instead.
"Okay, if 'scissors beats paper', then does fire beat rock?" Heatblast immediately attempted to blow up the rocks with a salvo of fireballs which only caused a falling rain of flaming stones, surprising him.
Heatblast looked around for what to use, seeing several ambulances, he thought about whether people were inside or not and then shook his head, he couldn't stop to think, he just had to do. He jumped inside, seeing they were all empty, getting out to begin directing his fire at them, melting the ambulance metal into a massive white wall before propelling himself towards Rojo while the landslide was redirected.
"Look lady, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way."
"I was thinking the same thing..." Rojo lunged through the air, taking Heatblast to the ground and holding him there, forcing him to see his failure to stop the flaming rocks as they bounded towards the town.
In a moment of panic, Heatblast erupted into flames which sent Rojo barreling back, allowing him to focus on the rocks, sliding down a cliffside, getting close enough to snipe a bridge and destroy the end which allowed the rocks to safely fall into the water below. He then immediately flew towards a construction site to get any straggling workers as far away as he could, noticing Rojo was still hot on his tail, grabbing his leg and tossing him through multiple vehicles, shooting each of them as oil splashed around.
Heatblast slowly climbs out of the latest hole he made, smiling.
"You want me? Come and get me!" Heatblast flipped away from an enraged Rojo, leading her towards an oil slick she fell into, "And, voila!"
Heatblast snapped his fingers, igniting the slick, sending Rojo flying away into the watery depths while he ran off to let the watch time out.
Gwen was sitting next to a now awake Max, explaining why Ben wasn't around.
"He's worried about you, Grandpa, he's worried about us. He's been thinking about any aliens he can use to-."
"Whatever happened back then happened, all we can do now is move forward."
"It's just... I feel like all this alien stuff is pushing him too far."
"Has he gone alien since he ran off?"
"Once that I know of. On the news it says Heatblast fought some robot lady after she tried to bring a landslide on the hospital."
"Then he's still trying to do the right thing. You can't fault him for that, and you can't put it on yourself."
Rojo was still sinking when she found herself in a vision again.
"I will give you one more chance, if you fail one more time, the rest of your meaningless, petty, criminal life will be over."
"I could've done it if I knew I was fighting the alien torch! This deal is over!"
"I was not finished talking. Instead of coming at him, make him come to you."
Rojo, with a new sense of life, launched out of the water, sprinting away.
Ben walked at sundown, sitting by his lonesome on a bench. He looks up, a young boy tosses a football to his grandfather in the park and runs over to hug him.
"I'm so glad we can spend the summer together, Grandpa!"
The scene tugged at Ben's heart but he didn't have time to dwell on it when a radio broadcast came on.
"Reports say there is an armored assailant, reminiscent of the one at the attack on Yosemite Park, has appeared and blown up several police barricades and is now at the Albuquerque Police Academy Training Center, there are several officers injured, and all we can ask is... where are The Ten?"
Ben quickly stands up, running to a secluded area to transform.
Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Gwen had said her goodbyes to Max, telling him what she had to do, quickly hitching a ride in the back of an ambulance, unbeknownst to the two paramedics who began driving to the scene of the police academy.
At the police academy, Rojo is tossing cars left and right and making quite a scene, only to be sent flying by a blue blur that skids to a stop in front of her.
"Looks like you got this party started without me!"
She quickly grabbed XLR8's leg, tossing him into a police car, aiming a laser with both of her shoulder eyes.
"If he wants his 'Omnitrix', he can have it! I'm starting to like this..."
"You wouldn't be willing to tell me who 'he' is, would you?"
Rojo simply fired away, XLR8 dodges, kicking Rojo in the chest repeatedly, sending her stumbling back until the two noticed a rumbling noise, a tank had rolled up, adjusting the barrel towards both of them.
XLR8 quickly sprints out of the tank's range as it shoots while Rojo takes it dead on, XLR8 watching the pillar of smoke form, the tank rolls out, stopping in front of XLR8, however Rojo quickly picked it up, swinging it at XLR8 like a bat, smiling since she believed she made contact but XLR8 was right behind her.
She tries to fire again and misses as he had already zipped around her again, punching her in the face multiple times before kicking her into the street. Rojo stumbles for a few seconds however she fires right back at XLR8 just as Gwen's ambulance finally arrives on the scene with paramedics emerging.
"Who needs help?"
The dust had finally cleared, Rojo was holding XLR8 up by his neck before tossing him to the ground.
"Uh... I think I do..." XLR8 choked out.
Rojo began running towards the paramedics, powerup a laser blast. XLR8 got back up, noticing what was going on, his eyes widening before he donned his visor, noticing Gwen was peeking out and was in danger, shooting into action, tripping Rojo and saving Gwen, running into a corner alley.
"Gwen! Don't get yourself hurt too! Please, you have to get out of here!"
"I hate to admit it but, I was wrong, Ben, maybe you doing whatever it is you... do out there is the right way to get things done. Even if I don't always agree, but you can't just push us away!"
Rojo finally caught up to the two, the Omnitrix was running out of power but XLR8 had just enough time to dodge the shots and get out of ear and eyeshot before he timed out.
"Ben, you can't run away from us!"
"Don't do this to yourself, Gwen, this is my fight, my stupid watch, not yours!"
"So? You can't change whether you have that watch, and you can't change that you're my stupid cousin either."
"I hate when you're right..."
Rojo begins to shoot several things nearby, whistling along to a certain tune to pass the time, the kids run from their cover to the doorway of a nearby empty gym, treadmills and pull-up machines all lines up. They sit down to answer a call from Max and catch their breath for a second.
"It's for you." Gwen quickly handed it to Ben.
"Uh, Grandpa, we've gotta talk later. There's an indestructible psycho robot on my tail!"
"Ben, if you can't destroy it fromt he outside... take it down from the inside." Max gave his words of sagely advice in time of need, as he always did.
"That's it! Thanks!" Ben quickly hung up, looking at the Omnitrix, the watch having returned to green uncharacteristically quickly. Ben turned it on, alerting Rojo, she flew through the roof of the gym, landing inside while the kids hid behind a column. Ben carefully selected Upgrade and transforms, the circuitry patterns running up his body until the transformation finished, climbing up the pillar as a mass of sludge.
Rojo continues looking around, walking right underneath Upgrade who had melded with the ceiling, after which he then dropped directly down on her, merging with her technological body.
She struggles to fight him off, beginning to glitch out, Upgrade finding himself in her vision world where he floated before a gigantic Vilgax. A very, very gigantic Vilgax.
"Listen to my word: be afraid. You cannot run, you cannot hide from me, neither atop the highest of cliffs, nor the deepest of valleys or the widest of rivers, I will find you. And when I do, I will retrieve my Omnitrix and destroy you and everything you hold dear!" The vision then swallowed Upgrade as he woke up, on the floor, getting up to barely dodge a laser, slithering to a pull-up machine, upgrading it to create arms to grab ahold of Rojo and force her onto it, holder her down with the weights.
She headbutts the machine, breaking free, landing on a treadmill that was immediately possessed by Upgrade, speeding it up until she was launched through the pull-up machine. She groaned as she got up, firing lasers at Upgrade who bobbed and weaved around them. Gwen, who was watching all of this, notices the beams of the building were starting fall apart from the carnage just as a group of SWAT officers bust through the front door.
"Duck!" The beam Rojo fired just barely misses the officers' heads thanks to Gwen's instructions, they all fire at Rojo, giving Upgrade the opportunity to charge her and pin her to the ground.
"Now, this won't hurt a bit!"
He merged with her again, finally managing to short out the technology, using tendrils to hold her down as she writhed in agony as electricity began to rise.
"Get offa' me!"
"Okay, maybe I kinda lied..." Upgrade removed himself from her, allowing Rojo to get up, watching as the red eye pieces, metal spikes and hardened skin effortlessly crumble and fall from her body.
"I'm... normal? Look, I-I don't know what came over me... I-I'm just a girl..."
She quickly dropped the act, pulling a laser handgun out of her pocket and aimed it at Upgrade's head.
"Well, so am I!" Gwen quickly ran behind her and kicked the weakened Rojo to the ground, taking her out, however the gym finally began crumbling down.
"Alright, thanking you later when this building isn't falling on us!" Upgrade grabbed Gwen and stretched away, looking back to see Rojo's limp body, sighing, "Good Guy 101, always save everyone you can..."
He extended his other arm to carry Rojo out of the building before it completely collapsed, handing her to the SWAT officers so he could wave goodbye.
"She's all yours!" he said, haughtily.
The next day, Ben, Gwen and Max who was still in crutches walk out of the hospital, Max smelling the morning air.
"Ah, it's good to get outta here and back on the road!"
They walk into the Rust Bucket.
"So, Ben, what happened back there? Normally, Upgrade can take over tech no problem, right?"
"I-I don't know. It was like... when I took over her the first time, I saw this alien, we were both floating in this red... dimension, and he looked like he had some kinda octopus for a head. He said something about being... afraid, very afraid." Ben looked up towards a frowning Max, "Grandpa, you look afraid."
"I'm... fine." He uplifted his tone, sighing, "and you'll be okay too, long as we all stick together. You haven't exactly had a good track record straying from us."
"Uh, right."
Everyone smiled, but Max's smile drops as he looked off, pondering something....
Meanwhile, high above the Earth, the Chimeran Hammer flew through space. A pair of menacing red eyes glow through the window of a healing tank.
