A Soul Fire is the fourteenth episode of Omniverse: At Night.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a clean shot of Bellwood in human view before a massive blue flaming portal crasks open between a mysterious grassy terrain and downtown Bellwood. A Japanese woman, wielding her sword and spear, began smashing cars and casting smoky clouds, creating an atmosphere so thick she slashes through everything that all wires began cracking with flames. At home, she is called Hattori.
Alarms in Plumber Headquaters began wailing as Ben and Rook run into the scene, finding Max watching the footage of the Japanese woman causing severe damage to Bellwood. Ben grabs Rook by the hand as they rush over to the Proto-TRUK, driving to her location, as Ben would complain how it was gone midnight. By the time they arrive, Hattori acts quickly as she slices the Proto-TRUK with her sword as the heroes lose control of the vehicle, eventually causing the vehicle to crash into a building, exploding.
Thankfully Ben had transformed into Bloxx to shield him and Rook, who both exit from the damage caused by the unknown person. Bloxx changes back as he demands to know who Hattori was, but she refused to speak. She'd wait for the moon to awaken her demon form once it came into contact with her blade. Hattori dashes at the two before tney could even react, as they are smacked further down the road, just before Ben transforms into Diamondhead after helping Rook get up from the ground. The Petrosapien and Hattori dash at each other, swinging their blades and dodging other attacks. Hattori strikes the final blow as she slices off Diamondhead's blade before looking back at the moon. A full moon.
Kicking both Diamondhead and Rook back a few paces, she whips out her sword as smoke began to errupt into a blue flame. With the moon's light shining down on Hattori, her form became disfigured, transforming into a much more powerful threat. There, she is Akuma no Kogo Hattori. The demon empress screeches as her screams echoed through the streets, with the Petrosapien transforming back and shielding himself behind Rook. The demon wields her flaming spear as she began cracking holes in the ground, forming rifts so four other characters could enter. Jiro, Artemis, Petra and Zariel exit the flaming rift as they are exposed to not only Ben and Rook, but Hattori's demon form. Disgusted at her form, the four began to fight, leaving Ben and Rook with the opportunity to flee.
Ben and Rook took a rest at Mr. Smoothy, trying to process what had gone on. Suggesting they should go back and try again, they soon find three unconscious bodies on the floor. They were identified as Jiro, Zariel and Petra, with Artemis acting quickly with her celestial aura pulsing in her vains. The space woman whacks the demon empress with her scythe as Hattori would eventually take down Artemis with her final flame cloud attack. Defeating all four that opposed her, they too became disfigured, some worse than others.
Petra was covered in blackened concrete like textures with her chest exposing a ruby. Zariel transfigured into a more archfiend-like threat, while Jiro became a crimson oni, with his horns being a pinkish red. Artemis, the last, became a demon like entity from the Netherworld, as the heroes, both Ben and Rook, were horrified. Acting fast, Ben transforms into Fasttrack as he flees the scene, carrying Rook in his arms. Fasttrack admits that fighting all of them at once would be impossible, so he had to come up with an idea that he thinks should work. Back to the five monsterous entities... Hattori would slice the air as it would create another rift as her new team would invade Valhalla, as Fasttrack would soon run back with Rook, finding the rift still open.
Fasttrack tries to enter the rift as he is blocked off by a barrier. Rook tries to do the same, but is unsuccessful. Fasttrack attempts to use Ghostfreak, but instead quick changes into Frankenstrike instead. With Frankenstrike successfully entering the portal because of his disfigured presence, the Transylian tells Rook that he has to stay behind, as Rook wishes for Ben to succeed. Entering Valhalla, he catches his attention to Hattori and her gang disrupting the peace of the people who lived there. Everyone had ran from the area, as Frankentrike calls for the attention of Hattori and her alone. Hattori speaks for the first time as she wishes to have Ben come with her, as she is in need of assistance.
The Transylian was confused, but goes to her and becomes curious of what she needed. Akuma no Kogo Hattori explains that she can't head to Demon Island because she doesn't have what is worthy to enter. With the Transylian eventually transforming back, Ben would ask of what she needs. She tells him that she needs the colours of the Soul Fire to enter, since they are the key to entering Demon Island. With Ben claiming he has no options, the demon empress comes up with the idea of slashing the Omnitrix. With Ben angered at the sudden turn of events, the Omnitrix causes a massive glitch, as another Ben Tennyson with purple hair and different coloured clothes collapses on the floor.
Akuma no Kogo Hattori is honoured to find out about the alternate Ben, who Ben had no idea existed. Soul Fire Ben claims that he only exists because of Hattori's interference with the Omnitrix. Confused, Ben asks if there were other different coloured Bens inside the watch, to which Soul Fire Ben shrugged, before thinking that he didn't come from the Omnitrix, but from Demon Island. Soul Fire Ben corrects himself that he actually arrived in a rift, so Hattori's actions weren't justified. Hattori, now with the colours of Soul Fire Ben, who gives her, as well as everyone else the colours, enters Demon Island with Jiro, Artemis, Zariel and Petra, as Ben exits the portal with the brief appearance of Juryrigg.
Rook asks Ben what had happened, as Ben claims that Hattori started all of this just because she couldn't get home, also bringing up how there's an alternate Ben for every single colour. Rook was confused, even saying so, as Ben would only wish it was just a bad dream. Ben then asks Rook if he wishes to hang in Mr. Smoothy, as the episode ends with Rook having to call the Plumbers due to the destruction of his Proto-TRUK.
