Synopsis[]
After Chris's defeat, he has found himself tossed into a new challenge that will lead him Into the Depths!
Plot[]
[The episode begins as the scene pans down to Chris laying in bed with his black eye still visible. He scrolls through messages on his phone as the night before flashes into his mind. The scene switches to a rainy street in a white flash and Chris and Tetrax stand there as the rain pitter-patters against a neon sign that reads “RENTALS”. Tetrax grabs Chris’s hand and holds it up then he grabs the Omnitrix.]
Tetrax: What happened today, we cannot let it happen again.
Chris: Yeah, yeah… I get it, I failed.
Tetrax: Luckily, no-one was hurt severely. And I investigated that C4, it wasn’t going to go off. It was a lure so you’d continue the chase.
Chris: That just makes my screwup seem worse, you know.
Tetrax: Look, no-one holds what happened against you… Kangaroo Kommando was tougher than we thought.
Chris: I should have been able to stop him!
[Chris looks down at the ground to see a puddle which shows his reflection.]
Chris: I should’ve won. Kangaroo Kommando is on the loose because I couldn’t stop him.
Tetrax: It’s not anyone’s fault this time… We just didn’t really prepare well enough.
Chris: It’s my fault! We rushed into this because of me! This proves my failure!
[Chris points at his black eye as Tetrax looks saddened by something.]
Tetrax: That… The only reason that didn’t heal from the Omnitrix is because that wasn’t an injury in alien form, it was an injury in human form… So it will need to heal naturally. And it’s not a sign of failure, it’s a sign of strength.
[Chris looks at Tetrax as the scene returns to the present in a white flash. He sighs and stands up. He walks over to the mirror in his room and he looks at his reflection. His black eye is still prominent on his face as he scowls and leaves the room. He walks down the stairs but the phone in his pocket starts ringing. He takes the phone out of his pocket and looks at it to see Jon-Luke is calling him. He presses the accept button and holds the phone to his ear.]
Chris: Yeah.
Jon-Luke: Chris, we need you over here now!
Chris: Calm down. What is it?
Jon-Luke: How the hell can I be calm when Julie is stuck in a crater, Tetrax is struggling to keep this plant guy away thanks to some magic and my suit and gear is back at my place?!
Chris: Ugh, great. More things for me to screw up.
Jon-Luke: Look, Chris, I know you’re not feeling your best right now but we need you over here like right now!
Chris: Okay, okay. But plant guy? What do you mean by that? Is it like a Wildvine?
Jon-Luke: I don’t know, it just uses fire and--
[The call cuts out as Chris gasps. Chris shoves his phone in his pocket and rushes outside through the front door. He slams on the activation button on the Omnitrix and the dial pops up to show Ripjaws’s icon. He turns the dial, scrolling through Grey Matter, Gravattack and XLR8’s icons before landing on Stingray. Chris slams down on the Omnitrix’s dial. STINGRAY TRANSFORMATION: Wings burst out of Chris's back as his skin turned into an orange colour. He grew long claws on his hands and a stinger below his waist. Patterned stripes appeared all over him as his jaw morphed into a longer shape. Stingray struck a pose as a bright flash of green engulfed everything.]
Stingray: Hopefully I can get there quickly…
[Stingray begins to fly up into the night sky as a mysterious figure in armour watches him from afar. He flies around and looks down at the ground to try to spot Jon-Luke, Tetrax and Julie and he spots them at the town plaza. Stingray swoops down and spots a green humanoid plant-like alien blasting fire at Tetrax. He charges into the alien and knocks him to the ground. As the alien falls to the ground, Stingray looks at his red flame-shaped head with his yellow eyes on his black face. The alien grits his teeth and he punches Stingray in the face, knocking Stingray into Jon-Luke.]
Jon-Luke: Nice one.
Stingray: Ow…
Jon-Luke: Get up, you’re crushing me.
[Stingray stands up and so does Jon-Luke as they watch the alien go to punch Tetrax. Tetrax makes a diamond shield form on his arm and blocks the alien’s punch. The alien is kicked back and falls to the floor before standing up again easily.]
Jon-Luke: He just keep getting back up…
Tetrax: So help would be nice!
Stingray: Don’t you remember last night? You chose the wrong guy for help.
Jon-Luke: You still came, didn’t you?
[Stingray looks at Jon-Luke and sighs as he looks at the alien and charges straight him. Stingray swipes his claws at the alien but he jumps out of the way and begins to shoot fire out of his palms as Stingray slides out of the way of the fire. The alien lands to the floor and grins. He runs towards Stingray and tries to punch him in the face but Stingray flies into the air and fires his stinger at the alien. The alien tries to dodge but Jon-Luke grabs him and pushes him in the direction of the stinger. The alien attempts to run once more until Tetrax fires diamond shards at him and knocks him to the floor. The stinger hits the alien causing him to scream in pain. Purple ripples appear all over his body as he screams. Then he grins as his hands glow red then blue then pink. The ripples suddenly fade and the alien stands up.]
Jon-Luke: Wh-what the hell?!
Stingray: Damn that--
Tetrax: He must know magic to an extent or mana…
Jon-Luke: Okay, magic I know. But mana?
Tetrax: We’ll go over it later.
[The alien throws his black hoodie to the ground and he begins running. Stingray then growls.]
Stingray: Get the hell back here!!
[Stingray then spots a crater in the ground and spots Julie laying in it. She tries to stand up but she just falls to her knees.]
Julie: Ugh, he did a number on my legs…
Stingray: Are they broken?!
Julie: No, just, they hurt a lot…
Tetrax: We’ll get Julie back to the hideout.
Jon-Luke: You chase after that guy!
Stingray: Me?!
Tetrax: You’re the only one who’s gonna catch up to him!
Stingray: But I--
Jon-Luke: Do you want to endanger more people or do you want to save them?! Moping about last night won’t help us stop this!
Julie: Just-- Agh, get that guy…
[Stingray looks back at the alien who has leaped onto a shop’s roof and he sighs.]
Stingray: Alright, I’ll get that alien and stop him! You guys get Julie to safety!
Tetrax: Good.
Jon-Luke: Go get em!
Julie: I believe in you…
[Stingray jumps into the air and begins to fly as he spots the alien running down an alleyway. He swoops into the alley as the alien jumps over a chain link fence. He jumps over the fence and the alien gasps as he turns a corner and begins running down the streets. Stingray begins flying into the air once more as he follows the alien who is running towards the train station. The night before then flashes into Stingray’s mind as the scene switches to Chris on the train with Kangaroo Kommando in a white flash.]
Chris: You--
[Chris is then punched in the face by Kangaroo Kommando. Kangaroo Kommando repeatedly punches him in the face as Jon-Luke, Tetrax and Julie watch in horror. The scene then replays constantly until it shifts to Chris standing up with a black eye and multiple bruises all over his face. The scene then cuts Four Arms kneeling on the floor as his eyes tear up.]
Four Arms: I FAIIIIIILLLEDDDDD!!!
[The scene flashes back to Stingray flying in the air as tears well up in his eyes. He wipes his tears away, makes an angry expression and growls as he swoops down to the train and looks at the alien who is grasping something in his hand.]
Alien: Why can’t you just stop following me?!
Stingray: You hurt my friend, Julie.
Alien: I didn’t mean to! I was just on a job!
Stingray: I don’t care.
Alien: You gotta understand! This is important!
Stingray: Do I have to repeat myself? I. DO. NOT. CARE.
Alien: I didn’t wanna fight, everything went wrong! Your friends saw me doing my spell and assumed I was some evil guy!
Stingray: Really? Well, tell me what the hell were you doing!
Alien: If I tell you, will you stop chasing me?!
Stingray: Talk and we’ll see.
Alien: I was taught magic by a man named Hex a long time ago and he asked me to take an artifact of his and perform a spell to open up another realm. A realm into the depths. A realm that was sealed away by a warlord.
Stingray: Hex? Warlord?
[Stingray grits his teeth as he continues listening.]
Stingray: Energizer...
Alien: I was paid to do this… I don’t wanna fight so just lemme do my job.
Stingray: You’re working for Hex so I’m not buying it.
Alien: Please just cool it…
Stingray: No dice, man.
[Stingray fires a stinger at the alien but then he creates a pink shield in front of him to block the stinger. The stinger then returns to Stingray as the alien shoots fire from his palm at Stingray. Before Stingray can dodge, the fire knocks him back and leaves a few burn marks on his arms. Stingray watches as the alien jumps off the train and runs towards Burger Shack. Stingray jumps off and slams on the Omnitrix symbol on his head, transforming into Four Arms in a flash. Four Arms runs into the forest and raises all four of his arms then he jumps up into the air. The alien spots Four Arms and gasps as he lands and slams his arms into the ground with the alien just barely dodging. The alien trips as Four Arms punches him in the chest. He begins to cough and groan as he regains his breath.]
Alien: The hell was that for?!
Four Arms: I think you know.
Alien: I’m just on a job, I told you! I’m not here to fight!
[Four Arms grabs the alien’s arm and pulls an artifact out of his hand. The artifact looks like a purple diamond with a strange marking engraved onto it. Four Arms scoffs and looks at the alien.]
Four Arms: So this is what you’re using to access this realm?
Alien: Yeah, it’s the… (cough) ...Charm of Sealing… I was meant to reverse its effect…
Four Arms: I’m still not buying this.
Alien: Just-- Give it back…
Four Arms: No.
Alien: PLEASE. We need to free the people trapped there! They’ve been trapped for decades thanks to--
[Suddenly, a red portal appears and Hex steps out with an angered expression painted on his face. Four Arms looks at him with a determined expression and the alien stares at him with a shocked expression.]
Hex: I’ve been watching this show for far too long to sit around and let you two continue with this pointless fighting. Chris 10, if you would mind giving me the artifact, I would appreciate it.
Four Arms: No!
Hex: This is useless. Just let me free my people.
Four Arms: I know you’re just doing this to mask an evil plot you have!
Hex: Will you just calm down? I have no ill intent this time. I just wish to free my people from the spell that seals them within our home realm.
Four Arms: Why-- Why would they want to leave home?
Hex: Imagine being trapped there for many years and life becoming a living hell slowly as all your loved ones die around you and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. That’s why.
Four Arms: I-- still can’t trust you.
Hex: I do understand the feeling, trust me. We’ve been fighting constantly. But you need to trust me this once to save an entire population of people.
Alien: Please? We just wanna help our people.
Four Arms: I--
[Jon-Luke and Tetrax run into the scene as they look at Hex with a shocked expression. Jon-Luke is wearing his combat suit and he readies his blaster.]
Jon-Luke: What the hell is going on?
Tetrax: Start talking.
Hex: We are not here to renew old grudges. We just want to free the people of Ledgerdomain from their binding curse.
Tetrax: Ledgerdomain? You mean where all the mana in the universe comes from?
Hex: Precisely.
Jon-Luke: Seriously, what is mana?
Hex: Mana is the essence of magic and even life. Humans who have trained in Ledgerdomain have learned to control their mana as magic.
Four Arms: So that’s where your magic tricks come from?
Hex: Exactly. Now, enough stalling. Hand over the Charm of Sealing.
Jon-Luke: Maybe we should hand it over. He’s just trying to free his people. He’s not after us this time.
Four Arms: He’ll be back later though! And what if he brings an army?! Then I’ll fail AGAIN!
Tetrax: We need to be prepared for everything. Chris may be right on this one. He may unleash an army of magic and mana users.
Jon-Luke: But what if all those people ARE starving, depressed, suffering souls down there?! We’d be monsters if we didn’t help!
Four Arms: It could be a trick! We can’t afford failure!
[Jon-Luke points his finger at Four Arms.]
Jon-Luke: The hell’s your problem, Chris?! You’ve been going on about failure since you lost to Kangaroo Kommando! It’s clouding your goddamned vision!
Four Arms: I--
Tetrax: We’ll sort this out later, now’s not the time.
Hex: What will it be?
[Four Arms looks back at Hex and the alien as he clenches his fist.]
Alien: Need me to help, Hex?
Hex: I will handle this myself, Zachary. You may take your leave. Thank you for your assistance.
Zachary: Okay…
[Zachary opens a red portal and enters it. Hex smiles as he holds out his hand.]
Hex: So… will you peacefully hand over the artifact?
[Four Arms stares at his hand for a few seconds before grabbing it and he begins to swing Hex around until he throws him into the air. Four Arms then leaps into the air and prepares to punch Hex.]
Jon-Luke: I sure hope he knows what he’s doing.
Tetrax: Me too.
[Hex creates a red shield out of magic and throws it at Four Arms. It hits Four Arms on the head and he falls back down to the ground. Four Arms stands up and Hex floats gently down to the ground.]
Hex: Why must we do this same old quarrel over and over again? You know what I really want this time. And surely you can see I have no malicious intent.
Four Arms: Easy to say but hard to believe.
Hex: Fine. Let us duel.
[Four Arms charges at Hex and tries to land a punch but then Hex creates a giant red fist out of magic and punches Four Arms in the chest. Jon-Luke and Tetrax simply watch as Four Arms keeps his balance and prepares to barrage Hex. Hex creates a sword out of magic and also creates one for Four Arms and it appears in his hand.]
Four Arms: Wha--?! What?!
Hex: You’re lucky I believe in fair play.
Four Arms: Urgh! Fine!
[Four Arms and Hex charge at each other and clash their swords together. Four Arms is beginning to overwhelm Hex until Hex unleashes a burst of energy that knocks Four Arms back into a tree. Hex then throws his sword at Four Arms but he dodges it and tosses his sword away then he cracks his knuckles. Hex gestures for Four Arms to atack him and Four Arms leaps towards him and prepares to punch.]
Four Arms: FOUR… ARMED…
[Hex tries to create a magic barrier but he isn’t fast enough and he gets punched in the face by Four Arms. Soon, he is being barraged by Four Arms.]
Four Arms: BRUSING BARRAGE!!!
[Four Arms lands punch after punch on Hex. Eventually, he deals the final blow and Hex is knocked out of the forest and he slams right into Burger Shack’s wall. The Omnitrix beeps and it flashes red as Four Arms reverts to Chris.]
Chris: I’m hoping that’s the end of that…
Jon-Luke: Chris… Look.
[Jon-Luke points at the Charm of Sealing laying on the road. Chris realises he dropped it and looks at it with a worried expression. Hex looks at it with a grin. Chris and Hex both begin to run toward it and they both grab it.]
Chris: Let go!
[Chris begins to pull on the Charm of Sealing and Hex does too. Hex manages to pull it away from Chris and he falls to the floor. Chris stands back up and looks at the Omnitrix. The dial still glows red as Hex begins to chant.]
Tetrax: This… might not be good.
Jon-Luke: Yeah, now this isn’t giving me good vibes…
[The Charm floats in the air and glows purple as Hex continues to chant. Chris tackles him and the Charm drops to the floor. Hex punches Chris in the face and he falls off Hex. Hex attempts to grab the Charm but Jon-Luke fires his blaster at him.]
Jon-Luke: Now that I think about it, your chanting gives me horrible vibes.
[Tetrax creates a diamond platform and it raises Hex up then Tetrax clenches his fist and the platform breaks into multiple diamond spears that point at Hex. The spears all shoot at Hex but he teleports around them, dodging them. Chris grabs the Charm and he starts to run away.]
Hex: GET BACK HERE!!!
[Hex starts to fly towards Chris as he continues running. The Charm then glows purple and releases a purple ball which enters the Omnitrix. The purple ball becomes green and it charges the Omnitrix causing its dial to glow green, it pops up, and it shows Heatblast’s icon.]
Chris: Woah, I-- I don’t know what just happened but I guess this watch really wants me to use Heatblast!!
[Chris slams his hand on the dial of the Omnitrix. HEATBLAST TRANSFORMATION: Chris smirks as molten rocks form on his arm and make their way around his entire body. Then, molten magma emerges from the rocks and Chris's head is lit on fire, revealing a face made out of the molten rocks. Heatblast does a backflip and holds his arm up as a green flash covers the scene.]
Heatblast: Come and get it, Hex!
[Hex growls as he flies towards Heatblast until Heatblast propels himself into the air using his fire. He punches Hex in the face with a flaming fist but Hex just manages to grab the Charm of Sealing in time and he falls to the ground while chanting. It begins to glow purple again and it begins to float. Heatblast throws fireballs at Hex as he gets up and while he is knocked back by them he simply continues to chant. Jon-Luke and Tetrax rush over to help Heatblast but then the Charm unleashes a giant blast of energy that knocks the trio back.]
Heatblast: Arrrrrgh!!!
Jon-Luke: Damnit, so much power!
Tetrax: What’s going on?!
[Heatblast, Jon-Luke and Tetrax fall to the ground as a purple, glowing hole appears in the forest. Hex flies over and chuckles.]
Hex: It was meant to open a giant gateway that everyone could leave through but fine, I’ll get them out myself.
[Hex jumps into the hole and he disappears. Heatblast, Jon-Luke and Tetrax run over to the hole and stare it in awe.]
Heatblast: It’s… a hole.
Jon-Luke: This leads to that Ledgerdomain?
Tetrax: Seems to be the case.
[Julie walks over to the trio and looks at the hole in amazement.]
Julie: I heard the commotion and… woah… That is one big hole.
[They all stare at the hole as a feeling of nervousness comes over them.]
Heatblast: I was hoping to burn more things before he did that…
Jon-Luke: I guess we messed up, let’s just hope that the people are poor souls and not warriors about to kill us.
Tetrax: Deal.
Julie: So where does this lead?
Tetrax: Ledgerdomain. Where all the mana in the universe comes from.
Julie: That sounds ominous.
Jon-Luke: I mean… I guess?
[Heatblast kneels and looks at the hole intensely.]
Heatblast: So…
[Then, the scene cuts to black.]
Heatblast: Who’s going first?
[INTO THE DEPTHS PREVIEW: The scene shows Heatblast, Jon-Luke, Tetrax and Julie standing in what appears to be a town with a pink sky looking upon them.]
Narrator: In Into the Depths…
[Chromastone grabs a dog-like, stone creature with purple and pink markings covering it and he smashes it into the ground, breaking it into several pieces.]
Narrator: More action and adventure awaits!
[Tetrax pins a stone creature down before getting hit by a purple mana blast.]
Narrator: Can Chris brave the Depths of Ledgerdomain and find his way home?
[Chris stands in front of a giant locked gate in awe.]
Narrator: And someone familiar may return…
[Chris stands up with a bleeding nose and he faces the screen.]
Chris: ENERGIZEEEEEEER!!!
[The episode ends as the scene cuts to black.]
