I like the reboot as much as every other show: a lot (Except Omniverse. It's...pandering to the OS fans, at least for me.)
So, when Season 4 was releaased, I was excited...and then I watched it, and it felt like it was diving right back to Season 1.
Now, Season 1 was an ok season. Key word: OK. But it was just so long and drawn out, that in the end, it took a finale to fix up the mess.
That is why I am starting this fanfiction series. I want it to be somewhat like Season 3, but with the lighthearted aspects of the OS, and the seriousness of UAF.
Does anyone know the reboot characterization? The canon ones, not fanonical onces. And does anyone have any tips on how to balance lightheartedness with seriousness, so as to prevent one from prevaling over the other?
Watching Frightwig facial expressions in Zombozo-land made when her head was patted made me think a story focused on her enjoying headpats would be interesting. Has anyone done thi yet? If not, would anyone be interested in reading it?
Hey guys, I am thinking of writing my Ben 10 based story. The story is basically that my own oc, Ken, replaces Ben in the series. I'll kinda focus on how the differences of the new main character affect the show, as well as his relationship with his family. I am also thinking of replacing the Omnitrix that Ben finds the original series with the one from Omniverse. The Omnitrix will also have the evolutionary function, which he will unlock later in the story. If any of you have any suggestions or advice for the story, then that would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
So I'm working on Ultimate Fasttrack's design... I know I want him to appear almost as though he is made of flame (albeit not actually on fire) but I don't know which design I want to roll with... so it's poll time! vote your favourite and I'll make that one!
EDIT: Design 1 won. I hate waiting, but Design 1 consistently held the lead in terms of votes and I wanted Ultimate Fasttrack to actually be out there before Fasttrack Fest ends cos I have other things planned as well. Albeit; those other things will not be fully finished come the end of Fasttrack fest.
To me, the reboot was eh. But, had a lot of concepts that could be good if they were tweaked.
So... I am stuck in the middle. Should I continue the original Ben 10 with a sequel (preferabbly post SOTO) with an 11-year old Ben, incorporating lots of aspects of the reboot and the OV flashbacks. Or should I make my own one-off reboot, on what the reboot should have/could have been?
If encouraged enough one way or another, I might create a short pilot write-up and we'll go from there.
Aliens have powers and it easy to make a opposite version like Fire = Water BUT sometimes some aliens (Like Alien X and Wildmutt powers) are confusing which opposite power they should get (For exemple: Ripjaws can have ice or fire power)
So i need your help to give me the full list of aliens's opposites powers
Hello, BTFF Users and BBO fans alike!! I am Brywarrior, otherwise known as Deadpool or the Anti-Weeb. I am here to offer a job to anyone who wants it, for the most part. The job you would be taking up would be as an assistant editor, assistant writer, or assistant director. I am currently the only editor/writer/artist for the series (Sixef is an Assistant Director), and it would be nice to have a second or third set of eyes to pick out grammar/spelling mistakes that I may have missed, and to help with the actual writing of the episodes. Should you wish to accept, you will have to fill out this application below either on this thread or on my Message Wall. Please note that you may apply for a Full Time, Half Time, or Part Time position. Please also know that this only applies to Bryce Bowman: Devil's Bounty. Italicized questions are optional, thus opting not to answer them will not affect my decision about hiring you. Please Bold your responses to each question, just to make my life easier.
What are the projects that currently require your attention?
How dedicated are you to these projects?
Is there a chance of these being canceled, should you sign up for this job?
Are there fans who would be disappointed?*
How much can I rely on you to get an assignment done on time?
Do you have the time to perform the task?
Do you feel you are fairly good with time management in general?
I would like to host weekly staff meetings on Sundays at 3pm EST, would you be able to attend these meetings?
Would you be willing to participate in the staff meetings?
If I were to ask, could you prepare a report of your weekly progress?*
Are you willing to question me in the event that you think something is wrong, or should be changed?
What other projects have you worked on?
What level of education have you acquired?*
Is writing/editing your strong suit, or are you more acquainted with other skills?
How much have you improved over your time on BTFF?*
Deviation - Writers Only
I have a specific story that has to unfold in this Series, are you willing to follow that story, without trying to alter the path too heavily?
If I ask you to write an episode, and give you a summary, will you be able to follow that summary as best to not disrupt the story?
Are you familiar enough with the series to maintain specific speech patterns of characters?
Are you familiar enough with the series to maintain the current writing format?
Are you willing to write profanity into the dialogue of the characters?
Are you observant enough to pick up on a character's patterns, and determine if the profanity fits the character and the situation?
For Writers Only - Are you willing to allow me/other editors full editorial authority on a dialogue, that may or may not include totally re-writing a scene or an episode, in the event that I/we see it unfit?
Are you mature enough to not throw out profanity for the sake of profanity?
This section is mostly for Writers, but Editors need to hear this too.
Are you willing/able to write violence and/or gore into an episode?
Are you observant enough to realize when enough is enough?
Are you familiar enough with the series to keep the level of violence on par with the rest of the series?
Editorial Authority - Editors Only
Would you be willing to set aside your personal opinions of a writer or fellow editor when determining whether or not something should be edited?
Are you willing to allow me final word on all Editorial decisions?
If I go back and edit something that you changed, are you going to become angry or frustrated with me/another editor and allow that to influence our relationship?
The Directors are essentially just idea providers. As such, are you willing to allow your ideas for specific episodes to be swept under the bus if they do not agree with the flow of the whole story?
If I was to ask you for an idea (for a filler episode), would you be able to provide a coherent plot that fits in with the surrounding episodes to ensure a "complete" Season and Series?
In the case that I deny the use of an idea from you, but end up using a very similar one in a later season, are you willing to accept that I may not realize where the idea came from and, thus, refrain from allowing your frustration to create tension?
In the event that something similar to the above scenario occurs, but with another Director bringing up the plot, are you willing to calmly confront myself and the other director about the incident?
Chain of Command
Are you mature enough to recognize the Chain of Command, and respond appropriately to myself and higher ups?
Are you willing to allow myself or another editor to change something you've written, in the event that we see it fit?
If you are not performing your tasks, are you mature enough to calmly accept termination, if it comes to that point?
Are you mature enough to cease from bad-mouthing 7th Planet Productions, Brywarrior Studios, and all related elements?
Should I not give you the required credit for your part in an episode, are you willing to confront me calmly to resolve the issue?
If you accept, copy the Application above into a reply and post your responses next to the question in Bold, and sign your signature (~~~~) to the bottom, then wait for my review.
Note: You are not required to meet ALL the terms specified. If I feel that you have enough qualifications, whether or not you have answered my "preferred" answer to these questions, I am inclined to "hire" you.
I have a plot idea for the third episode of Ben 10: Ghostly Future but I'm not sure if I want to go through with it or not.
Ben, Max and Rook pursue Zs'Skayr, this part I am definite on.
But I am deciding on wether or not, during the pursuit, Ben's Omnitrix will somehow break and Ben will be stuck with fusion aliens. I have put the aliens into groups, which the Omnitrix will switch through and combine random aliens in the group.
First Set: Heatblast, Wildmutt, Diamondhead, XLR8, Grey Matter, Four Arms, Stinkfly, Ripjaws, Upgrade, Cannonbolt
Second Set: Wildvine, Blitzwolfer, Snare-oh, Frankenstrike, Upchuck, Ditto, Eye Guy, Way Big, Feedback
Third Set: Swampfire, Echo Echo, Humongosaur, Big Chill, Chromastone, Brainstorm, Spidermonkey, Goop, Lodestar, Rath.
I know there are many Ben 10 Reboots out there, but I promise I'm fully dedicated and willing to put my all into one. I had plans for a Ben 10 Reboot for a while, so I think it's time to show you guys a prompt of what it'd look like. Do you think I should? Please tell why.
Here's my prompt:
[The camera is following Ben who is chasing after a shooting star the middle of a forest. It's dark outside, the bright stars illuminating the forest. Ben arrives at the shooting star site - which is revealed to be a crash site, viewing a small container-like orb in the middle of the crash site. The ground is shaking, Ben now falling off the edges of the crater and into it.]
[Ben]: (Curious) What is that?
[The camera focuses on the mysterious orb for a few seconds, returning to Ben who is reaching towards the orb. The camera focuses on the orb which opens up, revealing a watch. The watch latches onto Ben's wrist.]
[Ben]: (Smiles) Cool.. What's a watch doing in outer space?
[The camera is now focusing on the watch. The watch is slightly complex, with a large hourglass symbol on it. The hourglass symbol has a humanoid figure on it as an icon. Ben turns the watch's core which reacts by it popping out. Curious, Ben pokes it. After doing this, Ben's figure changes shape. Magma starts to replace Ben's skin, with dark red and brown rocks forming on his new hot skin. Ben's new form grows a few inches.]
[Ben/Alien Form]: Ahh! My hands are on fire!
[Ben's voice is now slightly raspier and deeper. The camera turns to show Gwen who had just arrived at the scene.]
[Gwen]: (Shocked) Grandpa Max better get the fire extingusher. (Takes off running to the Rust Bucket)
[The camera goes back to Ben who's facial expression gives off a relaxed expression.]
[Ben/Alien Form]: Really, Gwen? I know I'm hot and all, but did you have to run away? (Goes off to find Gwen)
So how did you like it? Do you suggest me to start my series? It took me a long time to research character interactions, make their dialogues realistic, and also to give a lot of detail about the setting and other things.
Hello guys, i'm back after a year. I would like to make a new series called "Irvine 10" focusing on Irivine McAllister. His bestfriend-turned-girlfriend Maggie Silvestry will be the deuteragonist. WWE professional wrestler Erick Rowan will also appear here as the tritagonist. Irvine wields the Mightnetrix, Maggie possesses mana and didn't say magic spells, and Erick uses a large Plumber laser gun, as well as very strong and a bit agile.
Hey, guys! This is the "official" discussion thread for the BBDB staff members. Most discussion will happen in chat, but this is here for announcements of staff meetings and to establish Chat-based staff meetings as a regular, weekly thing.
Currently, I have planned to hold staff meetings every Sunday at 3pm EST. If this is unsuitable, please tell me here.
All BBDB staff members, please reply to this thread so it appears in your Notifications. Again, this is probably not be used more than like once a month or so, but I would like to have the knowledge that you'll see updates if I post them.
If you are not a BBDB staff member, please don't reply to this thread. It's not pertinent to you, so don't worry about it. Obviously, I can't stop you from reading or replying, but y'know... just please don't.
Thanks guys, I hope to see you both on Sunday if not before!
I want to make a show, based off of the show Pokemon, but the Pokeon will be replaced by Pokemon versions of aliens. The types will also be different. There is Electric, Aquatic, Hydrokinetic, Pyrokinetic, Plantlike, Fighting-based, Dark-dwelling, Psionic, Draconic, Alfic, Space-Faring, and Colorless, as well as Insectoid, Ghost, Aerial, and Cryokinetic. Insectoid cards are usually listed as Plantlike, even though they aren't.
Hydrokinetic - Water-type, basically.
Pyrokinetic - Fire-type.
Plantlike - Similar to Grass-type.
Fighting-based - Fighting-type.
Dark-dwelling - Dark-type.
Psionic - Psychic-type.
Draconic - Dragon-type.
Alfic - Almost like Fairy-type. If there was a Light-type, I would call Alfic Light/Fairy-type.
Insectoid - Bug-type.
Aerial - Flying-type.
Cryokinetic - Ice-type.
All the others either have the same name as their counterpart in Pokemon or no counterpart at all. Also, the line between Aquatic and Hydrokinetic is thin. Most Aquatic are also Hydrokinetic, although Vilgax is Aquatic/Fighting-based and Ripjaws is the only example of a pure Aquatic.
The name of the show will be Tennymon. My question is, Has anyone had a similar idea? I don't want to make a show and find out it's essentially a rip-off of someone else's work. Though there must be dozens of Ben 10/Pokemon crossovers, and that never stopped anyone from making those.
Well, this may sound rather business oriented. But what if we all banded together and made a sort of series where almost everyone has an omnitrix, but their used competitively. As in people would trade, battle, and race, aliens. Sometimes in the form of tournaments or such? Might be a fun thing to do? Or am I just speaking nonsense as usual?
Hello all you scrayling out there, this is your favorite maniac Marus calling. After successfully managing to capture and sedate my rampaging pride which destroyed half of eastern europe in retaliation, I decided I needed a bit of help writing my new series "Tales of the Outsider". The show is basically the tales of wars on other planets, based around the experiences of a half human plumber who has a bit of a sadistic side when it comes to enforcing the law. The story is rather gritty and features a good amount of gore, death, and the occasional suicide...very occasional....*ahem* anyway, if anyone would be willing to devote their precious time to the petty needs of a mentally unstable euro-american writer with a drinking problem, I'd be delighted. Ciao~!
